Unable to syncy two iphones wirelessly

I have been trying to set up my wifes home iphone and her work iphone to both sync wirelessly with my itunes/computer.  The first phone that I set up her home phone worked perfectly, within a few seconds it pops up as a syncing item within itunes.  When I set up her work iphone on the same machine, what ever i do it will not appear as a connected wireless device within itunes.  I have tried switching off the home iphone, leaving just the work iphone on the network, restarting, rebooting, everything.  The work iphone appears correctly on my router and nothing appears incorrect.  I then tested this issue on my other Windows 7 installation that I have on a second hard drive on the same computer (precisely for this reason - testing issues), I set up the work iphone FIRST and the wireless syncing worked perfectly for the work iphone.  setting up the home iphone second, this then failed to be recognised by itunes wirelessly.
From my investigation I can only conclude due to some bug or something you can only have one iphone set up to operate wireless syncing.  Any additional phone set up after the first one will not work.
Any thoughts/fixes?
I am running itunes via Windows 7 64bit Home Premium.
I am assuming its something strange with Bonjour or something.
p.s. as I have been able to replicate the issue on a second windows installation and reversed the phone set up with the same results I can only conclude its nothing wrong with my setup but a bug or something.

The idea with the Aggregate Device is to allow several audio devices to behave as though they are one multi-port device with discrete one to one I/O mapping. It is not intended for one stereo source to feed more than 2 channels of output.
However...
Set up your aggregate devices as 4 audio outputs, install Jack (http://jackaudio.org/) and use that as a virtual router with qjackctl.
You may also get similar results with Soundflower (http://cycling74.com/products/soundflower/)

  • Unable to back up iphone to the computer

There are two iPhone 5c's in my home.  I am able to back up one to my computer with no issue.  I get an error with the other (16GB, running iOS8) that I am unable to back up the iPhone to the computer.  I have tried this iPhone on THREE computers and get the same error each time.  One of computers never had iTunes installed on it before and I was still unsuccessful.  Following the instructions provided on this site for this issue has not helped and resetting the lockdown folder only prevents iTunes from connecting to the iPhone at all.
I have noticed this error in the log file:
    [com.apple.console AppleMobileBackup.exe] Unable to move temporary file "C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\Logs\MobileBackup-unknown-20140918-212429-Backup-Com puter.log" (3)

This folder doesn't exist.  The path exists down to Backup, but there is no Logs folder.  Creating the Logs folder to the create the hierarchy does nothing.
When I delete the 05351e3d71b2ce92eea74258a6d3361009a32275 folder which actually does contain files and try to back up the phone, iTunes will actually recreate that folder and begin writing files to it.  It seems to get partway through the backup process and then report the error that it cannot back up the phone.  Something corrupt on the phone?  I've deleted all, but four photos on the phone.  I believe I read in one thread that some people were having success by deleting photos.  Unfortunately, I did not.
Since this is happening on all three computers, I would have to say that something is up with the phone.  Normally I would throw in the towel and wipe the phone and start over, but my wife just lost her mom and there are text messages on this phone from her mom.  I have to be able to back up this phone so when she gets a new phone she can take those texts with her.  Someone out there must have an answer for this.
    Thanks.

    Coleman,
I had a similar issue.  I was neither able to back up to iCloud nor to my computer through iTunes.  When I tried to do so to my laptop, iTunes would display the following message:  "iTunes could not back up the iPhone [myiPhone] because the back up could not be saved on this computer."  I looked at the system log and saw the same error as you.  When I tried to do so to iCloud, my phone would display the following message:  "The last backup could not be completed."
On my laptop, I did the measures suggested by this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2529?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
    None of that worked.
On my iPhone, I tried the following:
Turning off backing up for the camera roll.
Deleting the backup for the iPhone in iCloud.
    None of that worked.
I did not want to do a factory restore, so I decided to contact Apple Support.  My case got escalated to a senior advisor.  He suggested that I turn iCloud backup off (Settings > iCloud > Backup > iCloud Backup) and reset all settings on my iPhone (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings).  Once that was done, I reset my phone (press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo) and reenabled iCloud backup.  I was finally able to back up both to iCloud and my computer.  Fortunately, all of my content, including messages, was preserved.
    I hope this helps.

  • A Tale of Two iPhones and One iTunes

So this little problem has plagued us for years... nearly three to be more precise.  We have two iPhones and one PC.  Wife syncs contacts with GMail and I sync contacts with Outlook.  Funny thing was that the tab for contact sync would not 'stick' with the phone... if I synced mine first, when I plugged hers in it would still be setup for Outlook.  Or if I changed it to Google for her and then plugged mine in it wouldn't remember my phone wanted Outlook and would sync with Google.  I gave up trying to get it working and setup a seperate profile on the PC for my wife that really was only used for her to sync her phone.  The only drawback we could see was we couldn't have a single repository for apps and I had to add music to libraries twice (one for each profile on the computer).
Well, now that we're on the 4S I thought I'd see if iTunes has evolved since 3 years ago when I gave up.  I uninstalled all Apple applications and loaded the latest iTunes.  The cool part of iOS 5 and the new iTunes is we don't have to connect phones any more   So now both phones show up at the same time.  I can toggle through all the tabs and see how they differ... different sets of applications are selected, different photo options, music options, etc.  EXCEPT the tab with contacts.  If I set her phone to google, my phone changes too.  I set mine back to Outlook and hers changes to Outlook.  We've mixed and matched contacts several times trying to get them to stay in tune and that is a huge PITA to clean up.
I tried the Genius bar.  The Genius answer was that we should probably do a restore on the phone.  I asked him to help me understand how restoring one phone would solve a problem that existed across 4 phones (two 3G's and two 4S's) and untold versions of iTunes over three years.  He just insisted that we probably need to do a restore on the 4S.  You know, because that would clearly explain the problem we also had on the 3G.  His backup plan was to call Apple support.
So before I submit a ticket to Apple, anyone else able to confirm this limitation?  I've checked with my friends and the ones that have iPhones don't sync their contacts anywhere.  iCloud will help but we use XP and the PC software requires Vista or better so for now we're still unable to sync our contacts to our PC.
    Thanks!
    david

On your wife's phone, when you said you've done a restore, was that a restore from backup or as a "new" device? I would suggest deleting the .ipsw file/files on your computer, connecting your wife's phone and restore as "new". When finished, DO NOT SYNC, rather eject the phone and test, verify that all is working correctly. If so, connect her phone & sync her content back.
The .ipsw file is located here, delete all you find, there should only be one:
    ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
If this works, under preferences, devices, in itunes, delete her backups, as they are most likely corrupted.

  • I have an airport express and want to know how to set up two different wireless networks. One with 5GHZ and one with 2.4GHZ so different devices can connect to either.

I have an airport express and want to know how to set up two different wireless networks. One with 5GHZ and one with 2.4GHZ so different devices can connect to either. I have an iphone 4 that will not connect to 5ghz.
    thank you!

Your AirPort Express is already providing two separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, but each band is using the same wireless network name.
This is the default setup for the AirPort Express, which is recommended for most users. The theory here is that devices will automatically connect to the best quality signal based on their capabilities and distance in relation to the AirPort Express.
It is possible to assign a different name to the 5 GHz band, and then "point" devices at that network to connect. Some users swear by this option.....(I am not one of them).... but you might want to give it a try to see how it works for you.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    Click on the AirPort Express
Click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window
Click Wireless Options near the bottom of the next window
Enter a check mark next to 5 GHz Name.....which will automatically add "5 GHz" to the network name....so you can identify it
Click Save, then click Update and wait a full minute for the Express to restart
Now you will need to "point" your 5 GHz capable devices at the 5 GHz network name.  2.4 GHz devices will connect to your "other" network name.

  • I'm unable to connect to my wireless network

I am unable to connect to my wireless network on my iphone 4.  It worked previously. My husband has no problem with his iphone connecting.

Same here. Upgraded 2 separate iPhone 4 to iOS 5 and now both get an error that say "incorrect password" when trying to connect. iPad 1 upgraded to iOS5 and all 3 macs connect fine using same password. (Router is Apple Airport base station running 7.5.2)

  • HT4623 having the message " activation required" and i am unable to activate my iphone 4

I got up from bed on sunday and got the message " software expired" on my Iphone 4. I switched it off and on and got the message "activation required". Since my wireless connection is slow, I tried using iTunes on my laptop to restore my phone to factory settings but till today i have been unable to get my Iphone on.
Can some one help me on how to go about it?
    Yuven

The phone is carrier locked to a carrier other than the one you are trying to use.  Contact the carrier it's locked to to find out what their unocking policy is.
If you purchased it from Carphone Warehouse in the UK, they do NOT sell unlocked phones. The phones they sell will only activate on a UK carrier and will lock to the first UK carrier used.

  • I am unable to activate my iphone 3gs after updating ios 6.1.3

i am unable to activate my iphone 3gs after updating ios 6.1.3?

The activation servers were down for a bit yesterday.
    Try again.
A SIM is required for activation. If problems continue, the two most common activation issues are the result of a hacked or jailbroken device.

I am unable to get my iPhone 4S to connect to any wifi connection, I have reset my phone as well as visitedn my cellular provider without success. Does anyone know how I could possibly get my phone to connect to wifi?

Thanks for the responses, they have been very illuminating!
This is very disappointing from The Carphone Warehouse. If they had mentioned this when I went into their stores, I wouldn't have completed the purchases. I bought two phones at separate outlets and neither of them told me this.
I have been in contact with T-Mobile already as I thought they had sneakily applied a software update that locked the phone. They have denied locking it and suggest that it is something that Apple do. Their solution was a factory reset.
I have a call logged with Apple this afternoon, so will see what they suggest. Hopefully they will give me something that I can take to The Carphone Warehouse or T-Mobile.

  • HT1414 i am unable to restore my iphone 4 ?

i am unable to restore my iphone 4 ?

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

  • Synching two iphones to one MacBook

I am having trouble. I had registered and synched my iphone to a laptop I no longer use. I recently purchased a Macbook and went to set up two users for two iphones. I was able to create the second user on the computer however, the second user is not able to access the internet. I have a wireless internet card and when I switch to the second user, I am not able to access the internet. What do I need to do to give access to the second user so they can register and set up their iphone?

Thanks everyone, I think it was an issue with the phone which i turned off and on and now it seems ok.
sorry , perhaps i should have tried this first!
thanks for taking the time to answer my questions

  • IMessage on two iPhone with one account

I have two iPhones  under my Apple ID (mine and my wife's).  I am unable to set up my wife's iPhone using iMessage using her email address.  It alway says "unable to verify" or "already in use"  Since her email address is unique to her, there is no way it is already in use.  Need help, thanks!

OK here is the official way this works...
    1. You can setup alternate emails and register them Apple and your icloud/me account is what is used to verify everything. Basically Apple becomes the DNS service of that email address to route imessages to the correct device.
    2. The reason you see a message about the email address already being registerd is my guess you have used that email address to register facetime on a device that is not a phone (ad phones are usually linked by phone number). Since my primary personal email is on my imac facetime and my work email is on my macbook pro I could not use these two email addresses for imessage as Apple is using them to route facetime requests to those unique PCs. So I had to use my mobileme/icloud email address with my phone and ipad.
    3. Now for my wives iphone and ipad we attached to my mobileme/icloud account but then used her personal email to be the additional address and then you can delete your mobileme/icloud if you put it in there already.
So no imessage requests to my phone/email go to both my ipad and iphone and my wive's ipad and iphone is unique to her phone and pesonal email for her imessage needs.
works well but not easy for the average not tech with many devices to figure out...
...I'm a tech who has been drinking Apple kool-aid for about 5 years...

I have an iMac desk top, iPad, and two iPhones. Someone (a family relative) has somehow copied text messages, and possibly emails from our iPhones, and sent them to other people. He has had access to my wife's iPhone numerous times. Can I check our iPhones to detect any surveillance apps(bugs) on them?

Whose Apple ID are you using? It sounds like whoever co-opted the account may have changed the security questions as well.
    Follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5665
What should I do if I don't remember the answers to my Apple ID security questions?
Try answering them at least once to see if you can get them right, even if you are not sure you remember the answers to your security questions.
If you are confident you can't remember them, try one of the following:
If you have three security questions and a rescue email address
sign in to My Apple ID and select the Password and Security tab to send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.
If you have one security question and you know your Apple ID passwordsign in to My Apple ID and select the Password and Security tab to reset your security question.
If you have one security question, but don't remember your Apple ID password
contact Apple Support for assistance. Learn more about creating a temporary support PIN to help Apple confirm your identity when you contact Apple Support.
Note: If you have forgotten your password and answer your security questions incorrectly too many times in a row, you will be unable to try to answer your security questions for a period of time. During that time you will not be able to reset your password and will not have access to your account.
