Unable to syndicate in XML form

Hi MDMTechies,
I have created an XSD for my repository. But when I try to syndicate the data by choosing XML File schema in the Destination Properties, the Ok button is disabled.
Is there some problem with my repository.
If so I tried to check the repository.
It is giving me non-fatal error saying " Non-fatal error(1397): CodeName duplication found in A2i_CM_Tables."
Can someone help me out with this.

Hi Minaz,
For the problem what you can do is export the schema of your repository in Console.Use altova xml spy made changes if u want then import that again in console give the req fields.Then in admin in console in remote systems define your remote system name ,format as xml schema and the name of the newly imported schema and other properties as req.
After all above steps ,when you will define destination properties for the above remote system and type: schema .
U will find the root name.

Hi,
I think your form will get saved if choose Yes in the popup message. Try giving Yes in that popup.Make sure there are no errors in Project Check. Warnings can be ignored.

Unable to edit the content of an XML form

Hello Experts,
I am facing a weird issue after updating my XML form.
Earlier scenario :
We were displaying only the Title of the news along with the content.
New scenario :
We had to display image also along with the title and content of the news.
Changes i did :
I have updated my XML form with adding an Image UI in the XML form.
Issue :
After adding the image UI and generating the project in the content part it is giving a message as in the image below.
Due to this message as "Loading content please wait" i am not able to save the content of the news due to which i am getting dump on the screen.
Please help.
Its an urgent issue.

Hope you are doing good.
Is the portal 7.3? can you let us know the version? Trigger 5-6 thread dumps with 30 secs interval each for your server when you reproduce the issue.

Unable to preview - XML Forms builder

Hello gurus,
please forgive the silly question as I'm completely a newbie on the argument.
I'm trying to implement a news iview in Portal; I found an exaustive and intesting How-to guide that designs exactly my scenario:
How to Create XML Forms (NW2004)
However, I tried to start from the existing SAP_DemoNews project doing some little modifications in order to include a society logo.
So, I opened SAP_DemoNews project and did a Save as... to MyTemplateNews project.
However, even though the project seems correct as there are no errors in the generate() phase, I cannot see a preview of any module as the windows which is opened contains the following message:
XML - Forms
Item /documents/xmlforms/xfbuilder/preview/MyTemplateNews.xml does not exist
I guess there's something wrong with paths and configuration, but didn't found any reference searching the forum; could anyone provide me an help to work with previews?

But for Show it should work, and you said it does for standard forms delivered by SAP!?
For the default trace, you can use the log viewer in VisualAdmin (7.0) or the log viewer in NWA (7.0/7.3). Behavior of XML Form Builder after SP 13 upgrade

Dear Experts,
We are working on E.P 7.0 SP 10 and we've recently applied SP 13 and started testing the system.
What we found on XML Form Builder is, we are unable to add schema (under Data Model) to the project.
Can some one help us where exactly went wrong.

i think, i have faced the same problem recently.
I had the problem that i saw the 3 categorys: namespace,data schema and properties.
But i couldn't open them by clicking on them. This is also your problem?
What i did with lots of hours of testing.
1.Once you have managed to add something to the data schema you are fine. Then it will always be opened. ( Try opening an existing project and you will see that.)
So you could open an old project and modify this.
2. It is still possible to open the Data Schema. I don't know where to click exactly but i click like 100s of times on the symbol of Data Schema and with a little bit of luck it opens. If it doesn't work, i restart the Forms Builder and i try again.

Xml form builder- DataSchema not expanding

Hi Experts,
I am facing a strange issue in XML form builder.
When i am trying to expand DataSchema root node by clicking on the + sysmbol. It is not expanding.
Is there any particular setting or what for this. I have tried this many time but unable to expand data Scheme and not able to create any nodes under DataSchema.
Please help me in resolving this issue.

Immediately after opening the XML forms editor from the Content Manager page, you will get a link Start Environment Check Tool.... Click on that and proceed for a check. It will take some 5-10 mins based on your connection speed.If every thing is successful, clear the browser cache and restart the browser and open forms editor again. It will open the data schema and properties filed and project browser and all.
I was having this problem just now and i resolved it with the above steps.
My JRE version is 1.6 and portal is EP 7 SPS 21 patched.

Are Adobe LiveCycle Dynamic XML forms viewable/useable by Apple iPad and Apple phone or other mobile devices?

According to Adobe, you can with LiveCycle ES4. At least, that's how I read their blog post on ES4 Mobile forms support.
Of course, there have been several discussions started about this in the Adobe forums.

XML Forms save action modification

Hi All,
I have an xml forms application which i have integrated in an Iview. On click of a link this iview should be opened in the same browser replacing the existing content. However wen I click Save or Cancel the browser also closes when I actuually need to redirect it to show another iview in the content area.
How can I achieve this in xml forms? I think Save and Cancel have a standard code that allows the browser to close somewhere and I am unable to change it.
Can anyone help?

No, the idea about this counter is for example i have a list of FAQ's:
1. First Faq
2. Second Faq
3. Third Faq
I want to put automatically the number of the FAQ before the question.
For example if i remove "Second Faq" the list should be like this:
1. First Faq
2. Third Faq.

How can I manipulate structure tags in LiveCycle XML form

Have a form that was created in LiveCycle by another company.
Need to make it a flat, tagged, PDF, i.e., to look like the form but not have actual fields.
It has structure tags, but they're not acceptable, and in Acrobat I'm unable to manipulate them.
When I go to LiveCycle and look at PDF Structure tags, it just has this message: "PDF Structure can only be used in PDF forms that contain artwork."
When I try to optimize the form fields away in Acrobat, it says "This PDF document contains an Adobe XML form. Such files cannot be optimized"
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Had to keep moving with this, hopefully someone will come up with a better solution, here's how I got a flat PDF: saved the form as encapsulated postscript, then in Windows Explorer right-clicked on the *.eps files and converted to PDF ... had to delete the useless tags that were created during that process, retagging manually ... but it's giving me what I need. I was surprised at no loss of resolution, and all the text is taggable.

Missing Labels on XML forms

I am unable to view any labels on the any of the custom XML forms or the SAP devlivered forms when I preview the forms on our dev system. The fields are showing up but the labels are not
Anyone with any ideas on why this is happening?

This is how to rename your data schema elements :

For your error "Control is not connected to schema or a metadata property" you have to select the object you added to your forms, and a the bottom right you can see its property.
At the near bottom of its property, you have "Schema reference", this field must contains a correct value, such as /DataSchema/Data_schema_names/corresponding_nodes_name (ex : Author).

I am practicing Flex, in this practice I had used SWF file generated for perticular flex project in NWCE but one problem is occur i.e. one of the flex project(day3 exercise 10 ) is implementing drag and drop between the components is there in flex ,I had practiced in flex builder working fine then swf file generated for this and try to use it in my NWCE environment but problem is room rendering( rooms data extracts from separate XML form is placed at assests in workset ) not working plus no items displayed on that component only ,items of remaining components displayed properly.This Rooms.xml form where to place for display rooms data properly.
How can I solve this problem.

You mean we are unable to access data from local files at run time in flex applications,is right? but suppose at the time of integration of flex application with webdynpro are any other how to pass the required information,for example i am extracting rooms data from xml this xml and pass to list in MXMl component.This XML file is placed source folder of flex project at the time of run this application in Flex builder but i want to use this flex application SWF File in Webdynpro for java(means integration flex and wendynpro).how can i pass this rooms data to list .
Is there any alternative for this please provide me answer asap.

XML form in not getting displayed in the option while assigning

I have created a XML form and now assigning it to a folder. While assigning Folder>new>forms> .. here I can see other forms but not the new one which I have recently created. Please let me know I can assign the newly created form to the folder.

Please check for the Form Based Publishing for your KM folder
System Administration-->System Configuration >Knowledge Management->Form Based Pulishing>Forms Availability>Folder Settings check for the Forms to include and Exclude for your folder path. In this you can include or Exclude forms which you form by adding the XML form ID.

How to generate a report from data entered by users in XML forms

hi,
i have a requirement to generate report from xml forms which are created using XML forms Builder and stored in Km folders. management want to see in a single report all the activities of all the users in the xml form in such a way that one row in the report presents data blongs to each user. i have no idea regarding this.
can any one help me in detail.

Hi Sajeer,
You have given quite few information what data should be collected / showed in detail. Anyhow, it sounds as if you want to provide data which isn't provided within the standard portal so far (see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/07/dad131443b314988eeece94506f861/frameset.htm for a list of existing reports).
For your needs you probably have to develop a repository service which reacts on content / property changes and then you would have to log these changes somewhere, for example in a DB. On the other side, you then could implement a report iView which accesses this data and displays it as whished.

Unable to load any XML from JAR - Please help!!

I am a student in the final days of my degree. I have been working on my final project for some time now, an applet which converts input text to a signal plot for line encoding schemes - AMI, NRZ etc. It is pretty much finished, but one small bug threatens to scuttle the entire project! I have been searching the web all day long for answers with little success, and as the castor forum still appears to be down I am posting here. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
The applet uses the castor databinding framework to load various XML data. I am using Eclipse 3.01 for development - when the program is run locally as an applet, everything works fine. When the program is bundled into a JAR file and nested into a clean folder with a html page and the jar file, when the command to read in XML is given, a NullPointerException occurs, indicating that castor was unable to access the XML files.
Below is one of the methods used to make castor load XML data:

          String _mappingURI = "schema/codes/codesets-mapping.xml";
          String _codesetURI = "schema/codes/" + _codesetFilename;I have read that files inside a JAR can be accessed in this way ( http://archive.codehaus.org/castor/user/msg00025.html ) but it won't appear to work.
If these are set to a full system path (outside any JAR) i.e. "/home/me/proj/schema/codes/codesets-mapping.xml", the application operates fine. Clearly this is no good however, as the XML data must reside within the JAR package. I have tried many permutations such as "jar://schema/..." , "/schema/..", "schema/..", with no success. I have read of using InputStream and getResource methods to access files within the jar but have had no success. I have checked the schema dir is being put into the JAR archive.
Could anyone suggest an appropriate way of loading XML files from within a JAR file in this context?

Anyway, I've manged to fix it up. The problem actually lies within castor, not my code at all. This is a known bug in castor that the dev's deemed 'not important' to fix, but I have to say the work around is EXTREMLY poorly documented online. Hence, this post is just to say how to fix it up if ne1 else is having trouble...
To load mappings, use:
mapping.loadMapping(getClass().getResource(_mappingURI).toString());where _mappingURI is a string such as "/xml/mapfile.xml"
However, the unmarshalling method takes in a file object, so getResourceAsStream must be used:
CharSet _charset = (CharSet)unmar.unmarshal(new InputSource(getClass().getResourceAsStream(_charsetURI)));Where CharSet is your custom object you are marshalling into, and _charsetURI is a relative path to your xml file.
Ugly as hell? Very.
Does it work? Perfectly.
