Unable to tether android phone thru usb

after upgrading to yosemite, unable to tether android phone thru usb port

I am also unable to tether my HTC Android phone since upgrading my 2012 Macbook Air to Yosemite (via wifi hotspot). The Mac connects to the hotspot OK, but cannot connect to the Internet. Traceroute cannot get past the gateway address (i.e. the phone). The data connection on the phone is fine - can browse the internet using the phone's browser.
This setup worked perfectly on the same machine with Mavericks and I have just tested it with a different Mac running Mavericks and found it to work. So it seems that something has changed in Yosemite to stop this working - has anyone been able to get an Android phone successfully tethered to a Yosemite machine?

  • Connecting android phone via USB

How come when I use USB to connect my Android phone (Samsung gs2), two (2) "No Name" folders open up on the desktop?
I only want one, but it seems to be splitting my phone into two folders?

Unfortunately not.  They are almost identical: both have dozens of files/folders, most are repeats, but there are some small differences - nothing glaring (almost seems random).

  • How to connect android phone via usb using mavericks?

I am fairly new to Macs and want to transfer music files from my PowerBook to my LG Android phone via a USB connection.  Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?  Thanks in advance for any help.

I do not have the equipment to try this setup first hand, however, it could be possible to set this up. It appears that the phone and Operating System has the means to print pre-installed. You will need a proper OTG cable also.
Ensure that under Settings> Printing that the HP Plug in is installed and turn on. If you do not have it, it can be found in the PlayStore. HP Print Service Plugin<---
After that, simply connecting the cable to both phone and printer should allow you the means of printing.

  • USB connection for Android phone "disk was not ejected Properly"

My Macbook Pro OS 10.6 has begun to display "disk was not ejected properly" when I connect my Motorola Photon android phone with USB cable to sync (drop and drag).  Now I might be able to connect.  Or lately I have the phone icon flash on the laptop screen like it is connecting only to get the error message "the disk was not ejected properly".  Sometimes I am in the middle of drop and drag and it happens.  Can anyone help?

I would make sure to keep the phone from sleeping and keep it awake for one.
It may be that the iTunes services get in the way too.
I use Samsung Note (tablet and phone) but Windows 8 (better support than 7) on Mac Pro. Which is what this forum is, not notebook but that doesn't seem to matter (half a dozen or more a day think it is)

Also mine work better on USB3, though you may not have that if you are running 10.6, in fact you may not have the latest iTunes either (10.7.1 I think currently) which may also want to look at - may require Lioin 10.7.5.

  • Where does iCloud look for photos on my android phone?

I can't seem to find a good or direct answer to this question.  Every time I plug in my android phone with USB storage enabled, iCloud for Preview opens with an additional Import window.  It can't seem to find my pictures on my phone.  So what folder is it looking for so I can get that fixed?  It is very frustrating, especially since no one seems to know the answer, so please help!
Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

Hi Carolyn and thanks for your reply.  I know that iCloud is only for i-devices, but I guess I didn't explain my problem correctly.
When I plug my rooted android phone with pictures on it into my MacBook Pro laptop, iCloud automatically opens and wants to import the pictures but displays no results (no pictures found).
When my roommate plugs his unrooted android phone into the laptop, iCloud again launches and opens the Import window and finds the pictures on his phone and displays them, ready to import them.
I don't see why his works and mine won't.  Frustrated here.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

p.s. I am not knowledgeable of Apple/iTunes etc, I was under the impression that if I purchased an album then I can use my purchase on a non-Apple device

    Micky,
The iTunes Store sells songs in AAC format.  Most Android phones can play AACs.  Just sync them to your phone per the instructions with the phone.
If by any chance your phone does require MP3 format, you can use iTunes to convert the files, per this guide:
iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format - Apple Support
(This conversion does not require burning.)
For future reference, note that the iTunes Store is really optimized for people using Apple devices.  You might find it more convenient to buy music in Mp3 format from Amazon Digital Music or Google Play Music.

  • How to show my photos in my LG 10.1 Android pad on my TV thru USB port?

How to show my photos in my LG 10.1 Android pad on my TV thru USB port?

        DDCD,
I love having the ability to show picture on the TV to my friends and family. I was able to pull up some details on the tablet. I am showing that screen mirroring is currently not available for this device. Another option that you can alway try is if you have an SD Card in your tablet you can always put that in SD Card Adapter and pop that into the TV's SD Card reader. Most flat panel TVs have an SD card reader. If you're not sure whether yours does, your owner's manual will let you know.

  • Macbook Pro won't connect to Android Phone via Bluetooth (Tether)

I am trying to set up the "Tether" app that will turn my Android phone into a wifi hotspot.  I have a Macbook Pro running 10.7.3.
I've done everything suggested in the Tether setup, for using an Android Phone with a Macbook.
Problem seems to be with Bluetooth.  Using the Bluetooth setup assistant, I am able to successfully pair the computer and phone, or so it seems.  The phone shows the pair, and the computer says yay, we're paired.
However when I exit the assistant, the phone is shown as "not connected" in the list of connected Bluetooth Devices.
I see from searching forums that there have been similar Bluetooth connectivity issues with audio devices such as speakers.
Has anyone been able to successfully troubleshoot?
Has anyone set up Tether successfully with a Macbook and Android phone?  I have a Samsung Nexus S 4G.  Yeah I know, time for an iphone.  As soon as the contract is up in June.

I don't think you have to change anything on your home network. It is your MBP that is confused - it appears your computer is trying to connect to the network at your mother's place.
I suggest you go to System Preferences / Network and delete all the networks. (Select the name on the left and click -)
Then restart the computer and setup the network connection as if for the first time. You can use the Assistant to guide you.
(All of the above assumes you are running Yosemite. The details with older OS may be different, but the basic idea is the same for any OS.)

  • Unable to publish to Android-phone more than once

Until yesterday I was able to publish to my Android-phone, directly from flash (cs6) via usb ... but now I can only publish once.
The second time I try to publish, Flash keeps on saying: 'Publishing' ... but nothing happens.
I tried to reconnect the phone, restart Flash etc. in all kinds of order, but can't find any solution.
The only solution I have now, is rebooting my computer, but that's not really speeding up my workflow
    Any ideas? Thanks!

Means its a confirm bug ? I still want to be proved wrong because I really need this feature :-(

  • Can i tether macbook to android phone?

I have a Sony android phone and MacBook Pro (late 2009). I've found a few programs (see below) that will allow me to tether computer and phone, but none of the software developers are recognized by Apple. I'd prefer to use Apple recognized software to take a different approach.
I only need the tether for a week of vacation, so would prefer not to pay for it.
    Suggestions?

Does the phone support wifi hotspot? If it does, all you need to do is turn that on.

  • Unable to open the auth web of the ISE when pushing CA to Android phones

    Hi GUYS,
I have got a problem when pushing CA to Android phones from Win 2008, i have already connected to my SSID and got the IP, then i open my browser and enter http://1.1.1.1, the web is redirected to the Device Self-regist like https://ip:port/guestportal/gateway?sessionId=SessionIdValue&action=nsp, however this website cannot be visited. my ACL in the WLC is correctly configured which has the access to my ISE like permit ip any host 10.10.10.70 and permit ip host 10.10.10.70 any. My authorization profile in ISE is configured as "Web authentication       supplicant provision      ACL    'my ACL'". Everything goes on for now is OK but the website of Device Self-regist cannot be visited.

Can anyone help me with this? Thanks a lot!!!

    Hi guys,
    I have resolved this.
My ise has been upgraded from version 1.1.1 to 1.1.3 several days ago. The URL in the 1.1.1 is like http://ise-111.demo.com/xxx while which in the 1.1.3 is like http://ise.demo.com, so i forgot to change the DNS resolution in my DNS server, and after that everything is OK now
