Unable to Tether on iPhone 4
Hi everyone,
I have been trying desperately to tether with my iPhone 4. Tethering works when I pair my iPhone 4 with my desktop, but does not when I pair my phone with my laptop. I am trying to tether via USB (not Bluetooth).
I have tried reinstalling iTunes, and I have reinstalled the "Apple Mobile Ethernet Device Ethernet" driver which is giving me all the trouble. I have called Apple tech support, but the very kind patient customer service representative was also clueless.
Does anyone have any ideas that might help me?

You cannot sync from one iPhone to another iPhone.
Is the iPhone 4 battery charged?
Plug in to Apple wall power adapter for 30 minutes.

It's not crap at all.
It's not that simple. For example, I've 3500 songs on my MacBook but don't want them all on my phone, so I have to manually select each song again???
There has to be a solution.
Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?

I am running Windows 7, ITUNES 10.6.3.25. I am unable to see my Iphone/sync my iphone in Itunes. I have uninstalled all components of Itunes and downloaded the newest version to no avail. Please help.....Thanks

No iPod, iPhone, or iPad found.I did all that HT1925 recommended and it was no help. My computer still won't recognize my iPhone. Often trying to start Apple Mobile Device Service fails with an error message that it starts and then stops immediately.

I am unable to backup my iphone 5 iOS 6.0.1 (connected directly to laptop USB) with my itunes 11 for Win 7 64bits. The process starts and fails to complete giving the error: itunes could not complete backup of iphone because iphone disconnected.
I have restarted the PC, the iphone, changed the lightining cable and nothign resolves it: backup never completes.Hi, I disabled the antivirus and the firewall. Same result
I even deleted the backup folder inside C:\Users\...\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup to eliminate any corruption in the old backup files.
Nothing changed: Session either times out or i get the same error message: itunes could not back up iphone because iphone disconnected. It always happens during step 3 out of 4 which is "transfering purchased apps from iphone to PC" and comes after step 2 which is backup.
My iphone 5 is not jailbroken, and is a factory unlocked phone.
Any other suggestion?

i have been unable to use my iphone for going on a week. It started by shutting down when ever I'd try to use it. Now it has just a dead black screen. If i plug it in it doesn't charge And the flashing apple continues every 2seconds never charging or turning on. I'm frustrated because I can't even get in to troubleshoot. I bought an iphone cuz I thought it was the best phone at the time. My contract isn't up til Aug. and I'm stuck with a bill and no phone. I do not own a computer but I have an ipad4 which I love. HELP!
Make an appointment at the genius bar are your nearest Apple store. At this point there is nothing you can do without a computer, so if you don't have one and don't know anyone who has one that you can use the Apple store is a good fallback.

I can no longer tether my iPhone 5 to my MacBook Air?
I upgraded iTunes over the weekend and now I cannot tether my iPhone 5 to my MacBook Air. Prior to the weekend it has always worked a treat. Can anyone help? I am new to Mac so keep it simple please. David

I am unable to update my IPhone 4 to the IOS 6. I managed to back up and transfer and then when it asked to update I said yes and the sync process started, left it overnight and it came up with an error if continue you will loose all your data. So stopped! Help!
Are you currently on ios 4? If so that's where the backup comes in. You'll need to restore your backup once the software is updated.

I'm unable to get my iPhone out of recovery mode?
My iPhone was on charge earlier this evening, and when disconnecting it to use it again I noticed it had entered recovery mode randomly (I'm still not sure why this happened in the first place) I know usually this isnt a very big problem and you can simply connect it to iTunes and restore it, which I attempted to do, however when doing this my iPhone displayed a black screen with a blinking apple sign and iTunes wouldn't recognise my iPhone. I held the home button down, and iTunes then recognised my iPhone, however when I hit restore, an error sign comes up saying my iPhone cannot be restored - so I am unable to restore my iPhone through iTunes.
I cannot restore my iPhone by holding down the home and power button as my power button jammed just over a month ago randomly (literally woke up one morning and was unable to use it at all) so my iPhone is now stuck in recovery mode and I can't get it out.
I'm going to visit apple tomorrow to see if they can help. I'm still covered by warranty as I've only had my phone just over 11 months. Do you think it's likely they'd be able to restore is via iTunes in store? and if not do you think I'd be able to get a replacement because of this issue and because of my broken power button? Incredibly worried, as I don't know why my phone has even randomly entered recovery mode or why my power button jammed in the first place and I really don't want to end up paying £120 for a new handset when I don't feel any of this was really my fault.I am having the exact issue as yours, but, I fixed this issue myself and I would like to help many of those suffering from this issue to not be treated by Apple -- when I woke up in the morning I found my iPhone 4 was in "Upgrade to iOS6" mode on the moring that I planed to travel -- my alarm is still alarming me to wake up but the phone could not be used anymore, so fortunately I have backup phone to switch the sim-card to. When I am back home I went to a local "Short Hills" apple store Genius Bar and the staff told me that it could not be fixed, the only way to resolve this was to pay $150 for "Replacement" for a refurbished iPhone - I didn't believe him! My home PC/iTunes can detecte my phone, but the Genius Bar staff said it can't be deteted. I tried many different ways and finally I came up the followings which fixed by iPHone: 1) if you need to backup your stuff within the iPHone, you can use iTools from your PC; 2) Install the latest iTunes; 3) Try to recovery your iphone with iTunes several times and to see if it could be fortunately restored, Pay attention to the error messages, I got (-1) and (3194) which are ok, if they all are not working, then perform the last: 4) download the latest firmware for your version of your phone, such as iphone 4,5, GSM, CDMA, etc and save it into your PC; 5) perform a recovery mode from iTunes, but this time, you are pressing down the "Shift" key while you are clicking the "Recovery iPhone" from your iTunes, it will pop up a window to ask you to upload the firmware, you then select that downloaded firmware and it should fixed you problem and your iPhone will be just like brand new from Apple manufacture! Good luck! -- I have several negative experience with Genius Bar -- they are using refurbished phone with much older screen life LCD to replace my warrenty new phone -- this is apple the policy which are being complaied worldwide!!!! If I had choice, I would not have been using iPhone!

I am unable to restore my iPhone 4 from recover mode for almost a week now.
I am unable to restore my iPhone 4. It is in recovery mode and shows the connect to itunes screen. Itunes gives me many error messages, one saying "The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. The network connection could not be established." and I do not understand if it is referring to my internet or a Network on the phone. My internet connection is fine and the phone does not have service on it since I havent gotten it to work for the last week. I have also tried multiple computers to try to restore it and recover images, but nothing has worked. Please help me!

I have signed to up to iCloud and am pretty sure that all of my settings are turned on appropriately. However I get syncing from iCloud to my iMac and to my iPhone, but I am unable to get my iPhone to sync with the iCloud and most obviously calendar events, so that if adding an event on my iPone it never appears on my other hardware? Can anyone help me sort this out?
Re: check that the appointments in my phone are going into iCloud calendars....exactly how do I do this? I fear this is a really stupid question!
My iCloud account is set up with my Apple ID as one email account (for example [email protected]) which is the email account I use to sign up for internet sites like Amazon, Apple,etc, so that I can differentiate vendors/mass emails. But my default calendar on my iPhone is in a different email name (ie [email protected]) which I use for most communications to friends, relatives, etc. and it is this account that holds most of my appointments. To further complicate things I have other email accounts that I use for business/professional and community work. If I want all my calendars to show on my iPhone AND sync to my iCloud, do I set this at the phone level or the iCloud level? or both?
Let me clarify....It looks like if I go into appointments that I previously set up through my personal account (ie above [email protected]) and edit the entry on my iPhone, selecting the iCloud "home" calendar within the entry, it will then sync to my iCloud account, no problem....do I have to do this to EVERY entry I have? or is there a way to name my personal account as one to sync to iCloud? -
