I am using iphone4S, unable to send text messages. Have tried the usual solutions. Please help!

My knee jerk reaction is that they don't have your account provisioned properly.
My second reaction is that you are using the phone with an unsupported carrier and may need to modify the APN settings for it to work.
Where did you get the phone and who is your carrier?

Ok so you want Apple to address the problem, but yet you don't want to take it to them just in case they can't fix it? What if they can fix it? Complaining here certainly won't fix it.

Unable to text to a phone number not in contacts

On my Z10 I'm unable to text to a phone number unless I first add it to my contacts and attempting to do so causes the software to crash. I text numbers that I don't necesarilly want to add to my contact list so any fix for that?

You posted in a thread that has not had any activity in 2 years! Please start your own topic. Also, please describe in detail all you have attempted to do in order to resolve the issue.
It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.
Please complete or update your system profile so the users here can properly help you.

So the issue is isolated to two contacts only.
There are a couple sections in this article for troubleshooting contact specific issues.
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
If you still can't send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Make sure that the contact you're trying to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.

If you still can't send or receive SMS, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact who's trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Make sure that you're using the area code with the contact's phone number. When sending messages internationally, you also need to use the contact's international code.

6288 unable to text

Nokia 6288. Was able to text okay yesterday. Today unable to text message being stored in out box and message invalid multimedia settings. Had phone since July last year and no previous problems. Settings have not been changed. Any one got any ideas how to rectify.

Are you on the 3 network?
There have been problems with the 3 version of the phone software on 6233, 6280 and 6288 - basically, they keep losing the message centre number.
Go to Menu, Messaging, Message settings, Text Messages, Message centres, Add centre. Then set the message name to 3b and the number to +447782000800 (assuming you're in the UK, check with three in your country if not) then Save and set 3b as your default centre.

Unable to text from ipad2 to another ipad2

I Am unable to send a text message to my husband who is also using the same phone, ipad2 and service provider as mine. We both have iPhone 5s with AT&T data, Internet etc. When I try to send him a text from my iPad i cant send, his info stays red and the send button never engages to submit.

I too have this problem with my IPad 3rd generation. After four hours this morning, 2 with Apple and 2 with my cellular carrier and Apple again this is what I've been told by a third tier Apple technician. IOS 8 does not let you IMessage on IPad unless you are sending an IMessage to someone with an Apple device. I tried texting on my IPad this morning to business associates that I was able to IMessage with IOS 7 and no can do because they have Androids. I can IMessage to some family members and my husband because they have Apple products, but friends and other family members who have Androids, no can do. The gentlemen I spoke with indicated that the new IPad coming out in mid-October will have IMessage again for Android users and hopefully, now that's hopefully, an update will follow for the rest of us. Time will tell. I'm really bummed about this. I was also told that this can be fixed by using a third party program, but I don't like third party programs. My experience has been they stop working or don't work at all.

After recent iOS 6.1 upgrade, unable to text - HELP?

All, my Dad upgrade to 6.1 yesterday, but he is now unable to use the "message" icon to text this morning. And if you know my Dad this is a state of emergency because he can't text my mom in the other room. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Unable to text or call

I am in France. My pay monthly covers texts and calls but I can do neither (although I can receive both). I have paid for an Internet add-on and that works. I think outgoing calls/texts are barred so cannot call 150 to speak to EE. Any help/advice gratefully received

Did you activate roaming before going abroad?
Click on EE & ME and where it says My Account, click on Devices and Usage and enable it from there, cllick on EE & ME and where it says travel and shopping click on using phone abroad.

Texting pics to android phones used to work. Now shows a "! Not Delivered" indication. No problems texting pics to iphones.

Unable to text a contact on Droid Turbo

I just made the switch from iPhone to Droid and so far not a good experience. I'm trying to compose a new text message and I keep receiving this error...
Invalid Recipient...will not be added to the recipient list

I deleted contact then added to contacts and works fine now. I think one of the numbers got added as a fax number when transferred from the dark side. So just make sure they are described correctly, mobile, work, home,etc...

Unable to text my Mum but can receive texts from her.

I can text everyone else without any issues. I've already tried removing her contact and have contacted my service provider who were less than helpful. Ahy suggestions?

Is your device trying to send this message as a iMessage ? If so did the user of the other device used to have a iPhone ? If so did they turn off there iMessage before they changed it ?
Have you got iMessage turn on on your device ? Have you tried it with it off ?

Keeps saying text message not sent when I send a message from my mini iPad

Remember your iPad is not a cellular telephone. It cannot send or receive SMS text messages. It only sends and receives iMessages, which go to/from other Apple equipment users who are also connected by WiFi (and occasionally a cellular phone network that accepts iMessage).
