Unable to transfer photos to memory stick

Hello,
I have some photos [1000 plus] in My Catalog - Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 and wish to transfer them to a memory stick so I can then load them onto a new Mac Book Pro. I have exhausted all avenues and am now appealing to anyone out there who may be able to offer some help. If I click File in the Menu Bar there is no "Send To" however there is "Attach to Email" which I guess maybe a very lengthy, time consuming solution.
I do hope you can help.

Can you not just open an Explorer or Finder window to the memory stick and drag and drop the photos?
-Noel

  • Unable to transfer photos (jpeg) from desktop to SD card.  Appears as if successful then does not show up when put SD card in camera.

Unable to transfer photos (jpeg) from desktop to SD card for Cannon Power shot camera.
Appears as if successful, jpegs show up in SD card window,  but they do not  show up when I put SD card in camera.
Go through entire process to no avail.  SD card is not locked.
    Thank You
    L

    Ahh, extra info ahead...
Pictures on SD card, SanDisc-SDHC, 4GB Card, are jpeg.  The ones I would like to put on the card are jpeg as well.
    SD format MS-DOS (FAT32) .
    3.876 GB available on card.
    I have
Exported the pics from iPhoto to the desktop. Inserted sd card into side of iMac.  The icon of card popped up.
    Attempts to no avail:
    1)   Dragged the photos to the disk icon for the sd card.
    2)   Dragged pictures into the DCIM folder (where all photos taken on camera resided).
    3)   Created new folder.  Put photos from desktop into folder and dragged ne folder inside DCIM -since pictures taken at different times had their own folders inside the DCIM folder.
Every time the photos/files end up showing up on the sd card as long as it is in my computer but when ejected and inserted into my camera, all imported photos/jpeg file are gone.
    Hmmmmm

  • I unable to transfer photos from Iphone5 to pc.

i unable to transfer photos from Iphone5 to pc using itunes. Help me.

iTunes is not used to import photos from the iPhone to a computer (it will backup Camera Roll pictures into a hidden backup where you don't actually see the photos on the computer and it can be used to moved photos the other direction -- from the computer to the iPhone). Following is a link to the Apple Support document on ways to move the photos to your computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083

  • After downloading pictures to computer I am unable to transfer photos to disk because the photos are too large.  how do I reduce them to fit

After downloading photos off of my 4s onto my Mac I am unable to transfer photo's to a disk because they are said to be to large.  is there a solution

Best if you try and explain what you are trying to acheive.
Iphoto is a different paradigm than you're used to. I don't understand why you are trying to transfer your edited photos back to an external disk.

  • Unable to transfer photos to burn a CD

    Hello.
I have an I Book G4. I have uploaded some photos very valuable to me, of my trip to Ireland. They appear as a roll in Iphoto.
I have tried to export the photos so that I can copy them onto a CD to save them.
    I get a message; unable to create/users/campd/desktop.
Then, I am unable to transfer the photos.
I am moving over to a new Mac, and would like to take these photos with me on a CD. In the past I have been able to export and copy photos.
    ibook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Duane:
Have you tried dragging those photos from the iPhoto window onto the desktop?
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • How to download photos from memory stick pro duo

I have an older Sony digital camera that uses a memory stick pro duo.  I have the apple camera connection kit but my memory stick does not fit in it.  What is the easiest way to download photos from it to my iPad?

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import.

  • Copying photos to memory stick

How do I copy pictures from my MacBook Pro to a memory stick?

    Hi
you can go to export in the file menu but the fastest way is to simply drag and drop them from iPhoto to the finder or directly to the new mounted unit (your memory stick) which will appear in the finder and as a new icon in the desktop.
my prefered way, click on the picture start to move it press F3 (expose),  move to where you want to drop it, so the new unit which should appear as a new icon in your desktop, press space and drop it.

  • Maintain keyword when export photo to memory stick

When you assign a keyword to an image, is there a way to export the image such that the keyword (e.g. 'family') remains associated with it?
In other words, the ideal would be that you could export to a memory stick and the keyword would "stick" to that picture so that you could take it to another computer and use iphoto (or some other program) to identify that picture by keyword rather than filename.

    Terence,
Bad news. I went ahead and skipped 07 and upgraded to iPhoto8. It appears that either your advice was incorrect or this feature was broken in 08. Adding keywords within iPhoto08 does not actually change the EXIF metadata.
I added keywords within iPhoto08 and exported the image to the desktop. I then used MacMetaShow and found that the exif data was not modified. I did some Googling and found a few complaints that this is still a problem. I suppose it is possible that MacMetaShow is not reading the data correctly so I will try to find a different program to verify this.
Can anybody else corroborate this problem?

  • Unable to transfer photos from Sony Ericsson P1i to Tiger 10.4.11

Hi, How do I transfer photos from Sony Ericsson P1i to my PB G4? I have tried Sony's Media Sync, Isync, Bluetooth and none has worked. Desperately seeking ways to save all my valuable photos on this phone. Hope someone can help. Many thanks.

    Am I to install the m600kext and then change the m600 id = 57392 / p1i id = 57490 accordingly?
I think so, locate this file...
    /System/Library/Extensions/M600USBFileEnabler.kext
Highlight it and Show Package Contents, a window will open that has a Contents folder showing, inside that folder is the file we need...
    Info.plist
Drag that to Text Edit & you'll see this...

  • Unable to write to USB memory sticks

I can't write to my memory sticks anymore.  I looked at /media and the permissions for the memory sticks are 700.  If I connect a USB drive, its permissions are 777 and I can write to it.  I haven't been able to find anything that says how to fix this.  Any suggestions?

I'm having the exact same problem right now, and I find it strange because it started happening recently, too. I can't pinpoint it, though. dmesg reports that the stick is write-protected... but it's not - it's not locked and works perfectly on other devices - my camera or a Raspberry Pi, for instance.

I use mountie and udisks, but this does not happen with my USB pendrives. I've tested with two different memory sticks. Mounting as root does not allow me to write, too, as dmesg recognizes the sticks as write-protected.
What other logs should one post to try and debug this one here? Thanks in advance!

  • I am unable to transfer photos from my camera roll to a shared photo stream.

I have be able to get 297 pics over to a shared photo stream, but it is very temperamental. Ever since I started trying to transfer over photos, my iphone 5 has been ating up. Apps close on there own. I have reset and restarted my phone many many times. I am running out of storage on my phone and I am under the impression that I can keep photos in a shared photostream forever and then delete them on my phone to make more room. Is this true? I have backed up all my photos to my pc, but I like to have them on my phone too. Anyone know how to fix the problem with tranferring photos from camera roll to shared photo stream? Thanks!

    Amybeth
Photostream photos are kept in Photostream for 30 days.. it's not really a long term storgae media.  It's a temporary storage on your way to a computer storage solution.

  • Transfer photos to memory card

I have a 2GB memory card. I am trying to load it with 144 MB of photos. It accepted about half of the photos and now, after exporting the photos to my desktop and trying to copy them onto the memory card, I get the message: "cannot be copied because there is not enough free space."
Clearly it is lying, but I don't know what to do about it.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Memory cards are formatted for PCs, FAT 32, and as such do not allow many files in its root directory. The simple solution is to add all photos you want to a folder and put that folder on the memory card.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
