Unable to turn off

my ipod is working fine all these while until now.im unable to turn the ipod and have to resort to pressing the reset button to turn it off

when i turn mine off, i have to hold the bottom button on the click wheel for three seconds (or four -- more can't hurt). then let go. then hold it again, and it should shut off. make sure you don't slide your thumb around on accident while holding it. sometimes i have to repeat the process cuz i slid my thumb or something. hopefully, that should do it for you.

S400 unable to turn off wireless

Hi , I am unable to turn off or on wifi/bluetooth with the f7 key(alternatiely the wireless key). wifi and bluetooth are enabled always whch i feel is power consuming when not required. the key seems to be unusable.
netbook config is :
i3, 2gb ram, atheos ar9285 wireless lan adapter, atheos ar3011 bluetooth adapter
i have installed both the wireless drivers from lenovo support.
what should i do to correct this.

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
If you're running Windows 8, pressing the Airplane Mode (F7) turns OFF both the Wireless and Bluetooth radio. If you want to turn off just the Blueooth though, you will need to do it manually by:
1. Opening Device Manager (press Win Key+X > choose Device Manager)
2. Expand Bluetooth Radios then right click > disable the blueooth adapter.
3. For the wireless, choose Network Adapters under Device Manager and right click > disable the wireless module or boot into the BIOS by pressing the One Key Recovery button and under the Configuration Tab, set Wireless LAN Support to Disabled.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

I am unable to turn off repeat on my iPhone 4.

For some reason, I am unable to turn off repeat on my iphone 4. When I click on the album artwork, it does not give me the option to stop repeat. It doesn't even give me the scrubber. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Problem solved, I had to resync my phone with iTunes.

Unable to turn off voice over and all of a sudden the touch screen is extremely slow to respond.

I am unable to turn off Siri/voice over and the touch screen is nearly unresponsive. Brought it to Best Buy to have the geeks look at it and and weren't really receptive unless I ponied up some cash for a service plan. Was hoping someone could help me out. Thanks!

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

You can keep him from deleting it by going to Settings>General>Restrictions, tap Enable Restrictions, enter a passcode* then turn Deleting Apps to Off. This will prevent him from deleting any apps on the phone without the restrictions passcode. I don't think you'll be able to prevent him from turning off the app, however.
* Important: Make sure you remember/write down the restrictions passcode. If you ever forget it, you will have to restore the phone as a new device without using a backup to remove it, losing all data on the phone.

Track Pad on T400 - Unable to turn off

I have a T400 and am unable to turn off the track pad. I have tried Fn F8 which does not work, and have tried looking for trackpad options in control panel (Win7 64bit) but cannot find any.
95% of the time I am using a mouse, but want the option to turn the trackpad back on for the 5% of the time I will need it.
Any help would be greatfully recieved, but please be aware that I am not majorly tekkie.

If by using Fn + F8 and choosing to disable the trackpad did not work. Try doing the following.
- Uninstall Power Manager
- Uninstall Power Management Driver
- Uninstall UltraNav driver
- Uninstall Hotkey package
- Reboot
- Install Power Management driver
- Install Power Manager
- Install UltraNav driver
- Install Hotkey package.

do a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up. Then try powering off your phone.

I understand that you would like assistance with configuring a different model printer as the default printer on your computer as you do not wish to have your HP ENVY 100 e-All-in-One D410 Printer set as the default on your Windows 7 system. I would like to assist you with configuring the default printer today. Can I please have you follow the steps below.
1. Click on your Start menu on the computer
2. Click on Devices and Printers
3. In the Devices and Printers folder you will see all of your installed printers
4. Right click on the icon for the printer that you want to set as your default printer
5. Left click on Set as Default Printer
6. Once you set the desired printer as the default the green check mark will move to your new default printer.
7. Close the Devices and Printers window.
Now when you try to print the printer you just configured as the default printer will always appear as the printer selection.

Not matter what I try, including turning off "Search Engine Suggestions and Preload Top Hits", when I start to type in the Safari/Google search bar, it pulls up "Top Hits and Bookmarks and History"
Any suggestions on how to stop this from happening?

There is no way to turn off all suggestions when you type, unless you're using Private Browsing mode.
The "Search Engine Suggestions" only disables sending what you type to the selected search engine (Google, Bing, etc.). It does not prevent Safari from providing suggestions based on your browsing history and your bookmarks stored locally on disk.
To enable Private Browsing mode, tap the address view, then tap "Private" button on top of the keyboard. After enabling Private Browsing, no more suggestions will be listed from history or bookmarks, and if "Search Engine Suggestions" are off, then nothing should be listed.

Unable to turn off FileVault in Mavericks

When opening "Security and Privacy" in Settings, a window pops up stating: "There was a problem enabling FileVault. Problems were encountered with the disk "Macintosh HD". Please turn off FIleVault, verify and (if necessary) repair the disk with DIsk Utility, and try enabling FileVault again".
Clicking "Turn off FileVault" brings up a dialog box "Are you sure you want to turn off FileVault?" Clicking "Turn Off Encryption" generates this error message: "Disabling FileVault Failed. An error occurred while reverting the disk. (Error: -69755)" and immediately afterward the same exact error message as noted at the top.
Running DIsk Utility, verified both the physical drive and the partition, both the disk and the folder permissions. FileVault problem persists. Logging out and rebooting does not clear the problem.

I had the same or a very similar problem. I have a mid-2011 MBA that I upgraded to Mavericks, and then enabled FileVault -- no problems. I then bought a virtually identical used mid-2011 MBA for my wife to use, upgraded it to Mavericks, and attempted to enable FileVault. FileVault would go through the motions of encrypting the whole hard drive (256 GB SSD), and then give the error message quoted by the OP above. When I tried to turn FileVault back off, that would not work either.
I tried re-installing Mavericks several times, erasing the hard drive completely and doing a clean re-install from an external drive, but each time when I attempted to enable FileVault, I would receive the same error message. I called up Apple Support on the phone, and they suggested re-installing Mavericks from the Recovery Partition (not the external drive), but that did not work either. They then suggested I go to the Apple Store Genius Bar to have hardware tests run on my hard drive.
I went to the Genius Bar, and they tested the hard drive, which passed all their tests. As one last thing to try before sending the MBA off to get the hard drive replaced, my genius (Brittney Atilano at the One Stockton Street store) asked if when I had erased the drive if I had ever changed the partitioning. I said no, it still had the original one GUID partition that came with the MBA when I bought it, and I had never messed with the partitioning. Brittney said that in their Apple training, they were taught to change the partitioning to something else, and then change it back to one GUID partition, to ensure complete re-formating of the hard drive. So she changed it to two partitions in a different format, re-formatted the hard drive, then changed it back to one GUID partition, re-formated the hard drive again, and then repeated that procedure once more for good measure, ending up with one GUID partition. We then re-installed Mavericks on the newly-formated hard drive, enabled FileVault, and lo and behold it worked this time, no problems.
I really wanted to be able to use FileVault on this MBA, so I am very happy that Brittney was able to solve my problem. I hope this technique will help others out there . . . good luck!
