Unable to un-pause my printers

I have three printers in my home system.  one is a wireless and the other are hard Ethernet cable.  All had been working without issue, until a couple days back.  Now all three when trying to print to them they show printer paused when resume button pushed on two I show message of filter error then back to paused.
I have printed by AirPrint through IPAD with out issues.  And can print from another mac on network.
I have reset printers, reinstalled printers with no change.
OSX 10.9.3 current version.
ANy one run into this issue before and figured out why it is not allowing prints.

Humm... resetting the printing system as per > OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system should have deleted any paused or waiting jobs.
Try going to Apple > System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > and selecting each of your listed Printers > then Open Print Queue... for each printer and deleting any paused or waiting jobs.

While playing music on my iphone 5, i am now unable to play, pause, or skip songs while my phone is locked. I can still change the volume and scrub through songs.  This has always worked for me until now. As far as i know, i have not changed any settings.  This is whle my phone is locked both on the slide up toolbar/menu interface and on the normal screen before i slide to unlock.

I skimmed through this very long post but from what I read, this sounds much more like a coverage issue with your network than a device issue.  I have not seen or heard of this issue before and I do not have this issue personnally and & I use the music app quite frequently while working in the yard.
The DND feature should not be a factor at all if you're sure it's turned off.  I always recommend restarting your phone by holding down the home button + the lock button for 10-12 seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Once the phone reboots, do a test to see if this has helped to resolve the issue.
If not, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.  Then, test it out again.  Post back if neither of these solutions solve your issue.

  • Unable to share files and printers

I have a new iMac and an older PC running Vista. I have turned on the correct network settings (I forget the exact name). But I am unable to see the workgroup or any other computers on the network. The windows computer is the same unable to see my network as well.
I am new to Mac OS but can learn quickly. Please help me and any questions you have for me please ask
Oh. The printer I am trying to connect is a Epson Stylus CX7400

I have a similar problem : I cannot 'see' my Mac from my PC or my PC from my Mac. There are no machines visible in the Network window.
I did have a problem connecting to the two wireless printers on the network, but following advice on the HP site, I 'solved' that by replacing the modem / router.
On my small home wireless network, the Mac is Ethernetted into the router and the PC (running Vista) is connected by wireless. Both machines can see the Internet, and both share the wireless printers successfully.
I followed some advice on the "Problems connecting to a network" thread, and somewhat mysteriously a machine called "PowerMac-000A959989FE" appeared in the network window. However, no connection can be made even though this appears to be the Mac on my network as it has the same HW UID!
Any ideas / suggestion most welcome.

  • Unable to Print to Epson printers using LPD on PPC, works on Intel

After updating to Leopard, I am unable to print to my network printer Epson 870 and CX6400 from my G5 Imac. Everything worked fine with Mac OS 10.4.x. It works from my MacBook running Leopard. I am unable to select (even using browse) the appropriate Gutenprint V.5.1.3 driver. It fails to output to print server. From my MacBook all my network printer works - Samsung ML-1710, Epson 870 and CX6400. From the PPC Imac, only the Samsung works.
If I share the printer from the MacBook, the iMac sees the printers and automatically selects the appropriate Gutenprint driver. I am using IPD. I also tried Window. I can not select the Gutenprint drivers. For the 870, I tried selecting Epson Stylus Color and Photo series 1.3 and Epson CX6000 series driver.
I've reloaded the drivers from Apple and also tried Epson's drivers. I haven't tried loading the standard (non-Apple) gutenprint drivers.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    Al

I have the answer. It took quite a while but I know why the 3880 won't print from Photoshop 4 with Maverick. It is due to the Epson .icc page description files. The way to solve the problem is to make your own .icc. OK, so you don't know how to do it. This is what I did so now I get the quality prints I expect from an expensive printer.
You need to go to www.datacolor.com/spyderprint and purchase the Spyderprint hardware and software. It comes as a package for $300 to $350 depending on if you get a sale. The software will print on the 3880 test sheets of color blocks. With the hardware reader you then read the colors on the test sheets printed. What this does is match the monitor image with the printer, ink and paper you used. It makes an .icc page description file for you to select instead of the Epson .icc file. When you print again select the new .icc file and also choose "Printer Manages Colors" instead of "Photoshop Manages Colors" I know this is usual but it works. When you are done you will be smiling too with your beautiful results.
One other thing. If you want, it is optional, also purchase the Spider 4 Pro for $150. It calibrates your monitor and helps make excellent prints.
I understand it is more money and you already probably have a good computer, expensive camera to go with the 3880 so spend the extra money so it all works together.
    I hope this helps.

  • Unable to Browse to Shared Printers

    Good Afternoon,
On a print server (Server 2008) I have provisioned a number of printers and shared them by going to Printer Properties > Sharing and selecting "Share this printer",  and "List in the directory".
However, when I navigate to \\[server]\ I am unable to see all of the printers that I've shared. Some of them show up, but others don't, and the configuration is just about identical with only the share name being different.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Alright, so this turned out to be a pretty easy (if obscure) fix:
When I was configuring the printer, I was removing the Administrative account from security, after adding Domain Admins. As it turns out, the Administrative account is required in order to share the printers. So I just went back in, added the Administrative
account, and it worked! Simple fix :)

  • Unable To Load NIS Map (printers and printers.conf)

    Hello;
I am trying to migrate my NIS maps for "printers" and "printers.conf" into my newly built DSEE 11.1.1.7 (Solaris/Sparc) server, and I am getting this error (same for each):

From my DCC, I am able to see an OU named printers, but it is empty, and not showing up in the output above.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Update:
I've found that you must use the lpset command to populate/install UNIX printers.
As an example, an entry in my printers.conf looked like this:
    hplj1001:\
            :bsdaddr=printserver1.example.com,hp30ps:\
            :description=Semi-Retired HPLJ:
I added it using the following command:
    lpset -n ldap -h ldapserver -D "cn=Directory Manager" -a hplj001:bsdaddr=printserver1,hp30ps hplj001
I hope this is right, I have no way of testing at the moment, am I doing this right, is there a faster, more foolproof way to do this?
Lastly, how do I assign "default" printers for users?
    TIA!

  • Unable to print to HP printers, networked or USB

Please help if you can. I have a user here who can only print to one printer, its networked and a Toshiba printer. All others, be it networked or local via USB seem to spool but nothing comes out of the printer. The only thing in common are that they are all HP. Any ideas please .
The local USB printer is a HP LJ 1320 and the networked ones are HP LJ 4050.
In the printer setup control panel you can see the printer saying that its directly attached via USB and if you go to the log of printed jobs the are all there, just havent been printed

  • Unable to add a new printer in 10.5.7 - dialog box "quits"

Every time I try to add a new printer via System Preferences-->Print&Fax, the dialog box showing available printers briefly opens, and then quits. As a result, I am currently unable to add any new printers.
    Help?? Thank you...

If you open Console (Applications > Utilities) and look at Console Messages you may see a reference to the Add Printer starting and stopping. This may give some clues as to the cause.
Still in Console, if you expand /Library/Logs and then expand Crash Reporter, there may be an entry for the Add Printer app.
If none of that is any help, then you could download the 10.5.7 Combo updater and ran that. If you updated to 10.5.7 using Software Update, then the Combo updater can sometimes repair files that were damaged by the sequential update.
You could also get a copy of Print Therapy from fixamacsoftware. This utility can help resolve printing system issues.

  • Unable to connect to other computers (or devices attached) on my LAN

I have recently installed Aireport Extreme as a wireless device connected to Verizon Internet gateway. I have two computers (one window and other vista) and i can connect to internet from each computer. But i am unable to share files or printers as i can't see the other computer when i enter the IP address - windows comes back with unable to find message. I had no problem sharing files or printers on other computers on the LAN with Linksys router. is there a setting in the config that is incorrect. Appreciate response!!

Check that the computers are part of the same network. I am not familar with the AE Extreme so I am assuming that it is discoverable. I would also check that the properties for your Desktop WiFi Adapters have both Discovery Driver, Discovery Mapper, and Discovery Responder checked. Also a good idea to see if the Router has issued a IP licence to these computers. Solutions are simply a process of elimination. On the router there may be a setting that switches LAN Ping OFF and if that is the case computers on your network will not respond to a Ping.

  • Re: Unable to print on Mavericks

    Hi..
After updating to Mavericks 10.9, I am unable to print.  The printers are there and the process starts, but it is not able to connect.
I tried resetting the printer settings, but still getting the same result "unable to connect".
I have a HP Laserjet 1020 and HP Deskjet K109. Both printers are on office network.
Earlier, i was able to print on both printers in the same network with OS 10.8.
    Need Help.

While on hold with HP yesterday I heard them say that there are no new drivers for OX 10.9 and their printers. They said that Apple Software Support had a fix. HP also has a video titled “Installing an HP Printer in Mac OS X Mavericks Using Apple Software update with a USB Connection.”
The video says to turn on your printer, connect the USB cable to the printer then to the Mac, and voila, you get a small window which leads you right to the desired operation.
I did that and nothing happens. IF anyone has any luck making that work, please post it for all. This really seemed to start with OS 10.8, as my .png and soon my .jpg items were blurred and nearly unreadable. Also, my documents scans came out blank.
In my 31 years with Apple this is the dumbest thing yet. [Still there are some silly changes in 10.9 such as the tags which are now useless for me, inability to change mail to all text (eg. eBay emails with lots of unneeded graphics), lack of easy access to addresses when sending a new message in Mail.]

Thanks to a posting from a similar problem about an HP Photosmart 2610, I was able get my problem solved:
    I deleted the folder
    /Library/Printers/hp
then restarted in "Safe Boot" mode to empty the trash, then I rebooted in normal mode.
Then I reinstalled the HP software and rebooted.
Then I did Software Update and rebooted.
    Now everything works fine!

  • AirPrint with Laserjet p1102w doesn't work

Ok, just bought the laserjet p1102w and got it to work wirelessly with my MacBook Pro. The printer USB is connected to my AirPort Extreme. I installed the latest driver so that AirPrint would work (based on another previous post), but my iPad 3 and iPhone 4S are unable to find any AirPrint printers!
Not sure what to do now. I thought it would be easier than this. Help!

To work with iOS your printer needs to be on the network and not connected to the base station via USB.
    There's more information here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
Many of the p1102's also need a firmware update.

    thank you so much

I think you might have installed Old HP SW that is not compatible with 10.6.x. You have 3 choices:
    - Delete all the HP SW you installed. The in system prefs, re-add the printer. 10.6 will download the drivers you need.
    - Delete all the HP SW you installed. Download the drivers manually from Apple. (http://support.apple.com/kb/dl907) Install them.
    - Visit HP's web site and download 10.6 compatible drivers.
Note to everyone, over 2000 drivers are built into the OS. If they work, don;t install older SW on top of them. The list of built-in drivers is here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3669
