Unable to Un-subscribe

For some odd reason, I think I subscribed to a the forum: iTunes for Windows. It is not listed in MY SUBSCRIPTIONS so I cannot un subscribe. I remember now why I subscribed, because I originally figured it was like using the subscription service in my Windows Outlook Express newsgroups. But, I may be missing something, as it took me almost 30 minutes to figure out how to POST a message. It seems there are so many sub catagories that its confusing. I do find these forums rather difficult.

Unable to create Subscriber

Hi
I am using ODI 11g (11.1.1.3) to create subscriber for journalising.
I have 2 MSSql database. 1: Old and 2: New. i have done the following:
1. Used 'Global' context to link to the tables of new database
2. Reversed the tables as datastores.
When i tried to create a subscriber for Simple Journalising, it creates the SNP_SUBSCRIBERS in the old database. I had used the old database for my other interfaces.
I tried by making a new Context and grouped the logical schema of new databse to this context. Even in all my interfaces (for new databse) i am using this newly created context.
Still, the SNP_SUBSCRIBERS get created in old database.
Can anybody help??

I copied the same... and explaining more...
1 - On the remote server (Subscriber server) run the following sql statement
SELECT CONVERT(char(20), SERVERPROPERTY('servername'));
and take the out put which your Servername if it is default instance, servername\instancename if it is named instance and use the
ouput while configuring alias in step2..
2 - On local server (Publication server) , create an alias to the remote using the name from the above
You can create the Alias using "SQL SERVER Configuration Manger"....
Start/All programs/sql server 2005/SQL SERVER Configuration Manger/SQL Server Native Client Configuration/Aliases

3 - On local server(Publication server), Edit the hosts file to resolve the remoter host name to the remote ip
Host file location is C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\

Unable to re-subscribe.

Hi, I have been using the Weekly Pass for $5 a week which is supposed to renew every week.However it did not renew this week. There is no section or button i can click to physically re-subscribe myself.Instead, i decided to attempt to cancel my subscription then simply subscribe again. However, this also does not work. Now all i have is a "manage your AFL live pass" screen which says i have cancelled but does not have anywhere where i can sign up again. This is ridiculous as there is nothing I can do to fix it. Online chat for 25 minutes didnt help me nor did talking on the phone to Telstra.

Normally the option to resubscribe only appears after the existing period of pre-payment has expired.
Do you get an error when attempting to watch the premium content using this login?
Worse case, you could log out and create an entirely new subscription with a different email address.

Unable to view subscribed channel

I am unable to view a channel that is part of my Essentials Channel Package: NFL Network. I called the number on the screen and entered the code however the automated voice responds that the channel is not part of my package. It is Sunday so I am unable to receive help via telephone support. Any tips or advice to help me with my dilemma would be very appreciative.

Sorry to say ... the only way I've ever been able to fix a "subscription" related issue like that is to call the billing department and have them take a look at what you're supposed to have vs what's been provisioned for your STB.

Dropping existing subscriber from a pualisher who has multiple subscriber in Transactional Replication

Hi Everyone,
We have a transactional replication(one publisher and multiple subscribers). If I drop one of subscribers, will this cause any locking or performance problem for publisher or other subscribers? I am going to do that using SSMS.

Agree with others，In addition, before you deleting Subscriber, we need to verify that Publisher define a source database where replication starts, Subscriber is the destination database where replication ends. If you want to drop a Subscriber, it means that
you should delete the related pull subscription or push subscription in transaction replication. Usually, for example, to delete a push subscription, you use
sp_dropsubscription on the publication database, and execute sp_subscription_cleanup to remove replication metadata in the subscription database. There is a similar issue about delete subscriber from replication, you can review it.

Dbms_aqadm hang while calling add_subscriber can i make a asynchronous call

Hi ,
I call dbms_aqadm.add_subscriber but it hangs ( most probbably for the reason that some process has the lock on the queue - my guess ,correct me if wrong).
Can i make the call add_subscriber asynchronous which is returning some error code or something specifying that unable to add subscribe due to the following reason.
Please reply immeaditely.

Lost 3/4 of my iTunes Podcasts on my MacPro Desktop machine

Hi,
Recently my 64Gb iPhone 4s crashed after upgrading to 7.1. After restoring the backup up a number of times and the phone continuing to crash, I decided to start from scratch.
I downloaded the Apple Podcasts App onto my iPhone.
This populated immediately with the Podcast headings (subscriptions) that I have resident on my Macpro Desktop (March 2008 running 10.8.5). I have almost 3Tb of Podcasts on my MacPro desktop (many video based) and I was concerned that my iPhone would start downloading many of the podcasts. I immediately deleted all the video based Podcasts (some I have been paying for over a number of years) on my iPhone. I commenced this process on the way to work (at the Train Station) from my iPhone.
When I arrived home and started up iTunes on my MacPro Desktop, the spinning beach ball came up and stayed spinning for 3 or 4 minutes. When it stopped I noticed that 3/4 of the podcasts on my iTunes MacPro desktop had disappeared. In fact, all the Podcasts that I had deleted on my iPhone seemed to have also been deleted from my MacPro iTunes account (approx 2.3 Tb had disappeared when I checked the iTunes Drive-I have a separate 3Tb iTunes HDD for my music and Podcasts). The Podcasts were completely deleted, even the heading so I was unable to re-subscribe. It was a bit of a shock and I searched my Bin (no evidence of it there; the Bin I assume is located on my OS drive (1Tb). I hadn't even connected my iPhone to my MacPro let alone tried to sync the 2.
I am at a loss to try and retrieve the missing 2.3 Tb. I don't believe it is on my iTunes drive, definitely too large for the bin. Fortunately I had done a back up, but this was a while ago.
Questions
1. What happened for this to occur? How can the Podcast App on my iPhone directly affect my iTunes Podasts on my MacPro iTunes account at home? What if I delete the App and use another Podcasting App on my iPhone?
2. I am not sure how I can move the backup iTunes Podcasts to the MacPro HDD iTunes account. How do I also move them so that the subscription is 're-activated?
3. How is my iTunes Library catalogue affected (I have Time Machine connected to the 1 Tb Mac OS Drive on my machine. When I back up the iTunes 3Tb drive, I use a separated 3Tb HDD and use SuperDuper).
Since the Podcasts disappeared, I haven't emptied my bin.

Are the music files still in your PC? The default location for them will be in the iTunes Music folder arranged in folders by artist/album.
If the music files are still there, it is just your library database that is damaged and you may be able to recover as follows:
When you upgrade to iTunes 8, a backup library database is created in the iTunes\Previous iTunes Libraries folder. The name includes the date of the upgrade reversed. It will have a name like iTunes Library 2008-10-03.itl
SO try this - close iTunes and drag iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music library.xml from the iTunes folder to your desktop.
Next copy the backup library file from Previous iTunes Libraries to the iTunes folder and rename it iTunes Library.itl - i.e. remove the date from the file name.
WHen you open iTunes it will have to go through some updating, but with any luck you should get your previous library database back.

ITunes / Podcast trouble

I have subscribed to 25 or so podcasts. Some update daily, some weekly, etc. However, earlier this week iTunes was not able to connect to any of the feeds. After 24hrs or so, it finally broke loose and downloaded all of the backlog. Well, now it's hung up again.
Please let me know if this is all becuase of some check-box I mistakenly hit. It's not an iPod issue, just iTunes. It tells me to check my internet connection, but everything else I try on the net is working fine. I hadn't found anything in the help files thus far.

Mail RSS Feeds Stopped Updating

Hi there,
In the past week, I've noticed that my Mail RSS feeds have stopped updating and I'm also unable to open/subscribe to new RSS feeds.
When I try to click on a new RSS feed in Safari, I get the following error message:
Safari can’t open the page “feed://www.vanilladays.com/feed/”. The error was: “Operation could not be completed. (Mach error 268435460 - (ipc/send) timed out)” (NSMachErrorDomain:268435460) Please choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
In parallel to this, I've noticed that Safari is is also taking around 5 minutes to load (the is normal once loaded). I've got a separate topic about this.
Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? I was having these problems before I updated OSX yesterday.

i was able to find this on another website...
CXL: Safari fails to display RSS feeds when CPU is under load or free disk space on system drive is small. That pretty much sums it up. It's annoying, too, because if Time Machine is doing its hourly backup or I'm converting video files, Safari's RSS display repeatedly fails with the same error message: "Mach errore 268451843 - (ipc/rcv) timed out" or "NSMachErrorDomain:268451843". Under the same conditions, Safari fetches and displays normal webpages perfectly fine. Filed: 5610533.
but this doesn't make sense, I have about 4.5 GB free on my startup drive....

Unable to view 7841 Ip Phones on CUCM Subscriber

We have a new CUCM BE 6000 ver 9.1.2 implementation, with a CUCM Publisher and a Subscriber servers
As we have Cisco 7841 Ip Phones, we installed on both servers the recommneded device pack (cmterm-devicepack9.1.2.11013-1.cop.sgn) as specified on link: "http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/devpack_comp_mtx.html"
After we restarted CUCM cluster, we can add, view, modify 7841 Ip Phones on Publisher server ONLY , these Cisco 7841 are registered on CUCM Subscriber ,and they areworking good .
But when we try to view/modify these Cisco Ip Phones 7841 on Subscriber server we got this error:
"Unmapped Exception /usr/local/cm/db/xml/xml/Phone_7841_SIP_display_instance.xml (No such file or directory)"
And we are unable to access them on Subscriber server.
We also run "utils dbreplication status" on both servers and got :
"No Errors or Mismatches found.
Replication status is good on all available servers"
....when I viewed generated file.
We also run "Unified CM Database status" report and got Replicate state= "2 Good " ob Subscriber server.
But the situation is the same, Could any of you have an idea about this kind of problem??

Hi ev1205,
Re-install the cop file on the subscriber and restart the subscriber server. This should fix the problem.
Errors like this indicate that the cop.sgn file was not installed correctly on the server.
The fact that the phone is registered on the subscriber indicates that the model type is present in the tables, but maybe other details specific to this model were not installed correctly.

I subscribe to Acorn TV. I am unable to stream their videos. I have no problem with Hulu, iTunes, Netflix. I have spoken with Acorn and have tried Firefox, Chrome and Safari, but nothing works. I am using a MacBook OS 10.6.8 and Firefox 3.6.12

I am a premium subscriber to AcornTV. I have been unable to stream video on my home MacBook Pro (OS 10.6.8) using Firefox 3.6.12. I can easily stream Hulu, iTunes, Netflix, etc, but NOT AcornTV. I have tried the AcornTV player on Safari, Chrome and Firefox, nothing works. I use Time Warner High Speed internet at home, and they claim the problem is on Acorn's end, which Acorn denies. The biggest frustration is that I CAN stream Acorn videos on my office iMac desktop, using the same OS and same version of Firefox (we have our own server at work, though).

I'm watching it right now on Firexfox, but it's on a Dell, not a Mac. Have you tired watching it on a Chrome or IE browser instead of Firefox? And does it work on those browsers?
You should continue to follow up with Acorn TV - email [email protected] and you will get help, from the CTO, if necessary. Also, they now have a diagnostic page built that can analyze your computer and it will give them more information about your system. So, if you haven't tried in two months, it might be worth trying again.

The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. The latter does nothing allowing you to make your various selections for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.
If you don't have a backup for the iPhone with iTunes on your computer and don't have an iCloud backup that hasn't been updated since choosing to transfer the backup for your iPod Touch to the iPhone, the data that was on the iPhone is gone.
