Unable to Undo on Mac

When I modify a file, and upload it to the remote server, I lose all undo capabilities.  So if the change I made broke something, im screwed.  I have the same version of dreamweaver on 2 other pcs, and 1 other mac, and do NOT have this issue.  I had Dreamweaver CS5 Installed, had this issue, updated to cs5.5 still have the same issue.  Please help, I have spent hours researching this issue with no help.
Max OSX Lion 10.7.3
Dreamweaver CS5.5 latest version
I have uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times, even used adobe's cleanup tool, with no difference. Everything else seems to work without issue.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Well, after 18 hrs of an unbelievable amount of frustration. I figured this out, and feel like a total idiot.
After you save and upload a file to the remote server, using the put files arrow. The page loses focus. When you click back on the page, you can then undo.  On windows version, this doesnt happen.  I wouldn't consider it a bug, but this was a nightmare to figure out.  Hopefully if someone else encounters this, they will see this and know how to fix it.
Thanks for your help Snake.

If you're unable to turn it on, let alone even charge it then it definitely sounds like a battery issue to me. I'd wait for someone else to reply just to be sure but I think somehow the battery by the sounds of it must have died. However, I could be very wrong.
If you're still under applecare which you should be then it should be an easy free fix. Hope this helps!

  • Unable to update my mac mini

I'm unable to update my mac mini. When I try it shows a message "software quit unexpectedly". I try and reopen but message returns.

Hi, is this using Software update?
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If 10.7 or more, reboot holding CMD+r down to boot from the Restore Partition, use Disk Utility there.

  • Some times when I have Closed mail I am unable to close my Mac down. If I try to get back into mail it will not let me. Any suggestions?  and Do I need Virus Protection at all.

Some times when I have been using mail and close it down, I am unable to close my Mac Down?
Do I require any Virus Protection for my Mac Mini?

If Mail is preventing shutdown, when it happens go to the Apple Menu>Force Quit, select Mail and click on Force Quit - it should then continue to a normal shutdown.
No, you don't need anti-virus software:

  • Can I undo "Erase mac" setting for Stolen, but returned devices??

Can I undo "Erase mac" setting for Stolen, but returned devices?? Laptop bag with MacBook Pro, iPad and Android Tablet were stolen at a tradeshow last week - so I found the ERASE setting thru iCloud - NOW the devices are all FOUND and being shipped back to me. (HORRAY!!) But, is there a way to UNDO the Erase setting that I clicked on?

    Hello there, sunny_and72.
Great news on finding your lost devices! That has got to be a major relief. The following Knowledge Base article offers the possible ways of restoring your data onto your devices after an erase has been performed:
    iCloud: Erase your device
If you erase then find your iOS device, you can restore the information on the device using iCloud Backup (if backup was turned on before you erased it) or iTunes. For more information, see iCloud storage and backup overview, or the Safety, Handling & Support section of the iOS 8 user guide for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If your device has iOS 7 or earlier, get the user guide from the Apple Support website.
If you erase then find your Mac, you can restore the information on the Mac using a Time Machine backup. For more information, see the Apple Support article Recover your entire system. If you set an EFI firmware password on your Mac before it was lost, then erase it and later find it, you may need to take your Mac to an authorized repair center to unlock it before you can use it again.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Unable to boot on Mac Mini from DVD burned from .iso image

I'm following the Beginner's Guide to try and install Arch on a Mac Mini "Late 2009".
I have downloaded archlinux-2014.10.01-dual.iso and associated .sig, and have verified it using the gpg2 command described in the guide (including the link to http://sparewotw.wordpress.com/2012/10/ … -sig-file/ which gave some assurance that the ambiguous answer produced by gpg2 was in fact legitimate).
I then used OSX's Disk Utility to burn the .iso file to a blank DVD. After verifying the burn, it ejected the disk.
When I re-inserted it, I received a message that the disk was unmountable, giving me the option to Ignore or Eject. I chose Ignore. Then I went to the System Preferences > Startup Disk, to see if it would at least appear there as an option, but it didn't.
(I should mention that I also burned the same file to another disk using a Windows machine, and when I inserted it into the Mac I got the same message, so I don't think it's corrupted media. (Bad reader, perhaps? eek.) )
That's where I stand. There are so many variables at play here (many of them Apple-induced, I think) that I've been unable to find a solution that fits my situation. Could someone please provide suggestions / pointers / answer?
    Thanks,
    Chap

Scimmia wrote:Ignore what OSX tells you, just try booting from it: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1533
Exactly right. Holding the Option key caused a display of various bootable OSes, including the one I had just burned from the Mac using hdiutil (weirdly entitled "windows"). I selected it, and it booted. I now have a console. Problem solved. Thanks.
UPDATE: note that this boot disk *cannot* be seen or selected via the OSX System Preference > Startup Disk panel. Holding the Option key during startup seems to be the only way to select it.

  • I am unable to connect my Mac Pro to Internet even though rest other devices are working in a Wifi network

Please help me find a solution to my problem. I am unable to connect to Wifi network at home using my Mac Pro which was working perfectly all right till yesterday. I have checked my Wifi connections and have other devices which are working fine. I tried resetting my network but still the problem exists. I am unable to figure out what next I can do to fix this? Does anyone know a solution or do you think my networking Card is not working? PLease advise?

Okay have you tried preferences>Network  then click diagnostics?
to verify if you are communicating at all go to application>Utilities>Terminal
in terminal type ping google.com should get over and over (send what you get)
    64 bytes from 173.194.34.164: icmp_seq=99 ttl=52 time=31.586 ms
if you get the above, then go to safari and re-set safari, then close safari, re-open and try google.

  • Where did my pics go ??? Transferred pics from memory card to Mac Pro and lost pics on memory card and unable to find on Mac

where did my pics go. Transferred 40-50- pic from camera memory card to Mac via  slot; lost pics on memory card and unable to find anywhere in Mac. May have gone to Open Office as Data . Is that possible and if so can I get pics back or if not so ,where could they be????

First place to check is in the iPhoto library. If the images were imported there then they will be visible in the previews created.
The physical location of image files in iPhoto is quite buried in folders within folders. So, if you want to copy them then select all of the ones needed from the previews and copy from iPhoto to a new location, preferably a new folder in the Pictures folder.
The other app that might have transferred the files is Image Capture. It would download files from cards or cameras. Launch this app and look in the preferences to see the default location of transferred files.

  • Unable to connect my Mac and iOS

After updating the Yosemite software on my Macbook i am unable to connect iOS and Mac for phone calls. My iPhone 5 does not have FaceTime? Is there another wayout?

Try a reset, hold the home/sleep button until the device powers off then powers back on and you see the apple logo.  Release when you see the apple logo and allow it to finish booting.  Once it is done try updating your apps again.

  • Unable to install any Mac OS via any method

I consider myself an extremely knowledgeable mac user but I am out of ideas with this iMac G4 800. As the story goes, my family had two of these purchased within a year of each other around 2000 or 2001. In 2005 I got a PowerBook, transferred my files from the iMac I was using at the time and got ready to reformat the iMac and reinstall a fresh OS (10.3 at the time I think). Well no matter what I tried the install would fail with ambiguous error messages, the machine would kernel panic on startup from the install DVD. Installing via Target Disk Mode would cause random freezes, hangups, and I/O errors. I assumed the disk was fried but various utilities reported NO bad sectors even though OS X's disk utility was unable to zero out the drive (more I/O) errors. I found it highly suspicious that the day I get a new Mac and transfer my files over, the old one completely dies on me.
So I took the **** thing apart. Every screw in the thing was removed. I salvaged some hardware and scrapped the rest, chalking the experience up to bad luck. Now jump ahead again to 4 years later, that is, this week. The second and only remaining iMac, running OS 10.3 perfectly is no longer needed. I planned on wiping the drive and installing 10.5 on it. So try to imagine my surprise when the exact same symptoms start appearing. Kernel panics on booting the install DVD, unable to install via TDM, pacifist, etc.
I've run through the motions, reset-nvram, reset PRAM, reset PMU, remove RAM, remove Airport Card.
Booting from the 10.4 retail DVD results in a kernel panic with an "unable to find driver for this model Powermac 4,2"
I refuse to accept this is a hardware issue and that both iMacs failed on exactly the day that I tried to erase them and install a new OS. But I'm out of ideas.

It sounds like you are using machine specific disks to install.
Things in this upgrade faq (by Ali B) should help.

  • Unable to update AAM (Mac)

When I launch AAM it immediately tells me an update is available and starts downloading. It asks for the administrator password then continues but as soon as it gets to 100% I get the following error.
I've quit the Creative Cloud Connection, restarted the Mac, still the same.
I found a link to the latest version of the AAM (V7). After installing I now see all the CC apps but it's still showing in the old AAM window. CCC is also unable to connect to the cloud.
    Any ideas?

The Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Creative Suite 6, Adobe Creative Suite 5 - 5.5, Adobe Creative Suite 4, and Adobe Creative Suite 3 software. The tool can also clean up install records for any pre-release (beta) installations of these products. Recommend using this option to solve the above problem and then install, I hope the information will be helpful, cheers!
