Unable to uninstall Adobe 10.0.1

Hello,
I'm currently trying to uninstall silently Adobe 10.0.1 in order to install Adobe 9.4.
To do that, i'm using the following : MsiExec.exe /x{AC76BA86-7AD7-1036-7B44-AA1000000001}
Unfortunately, i'm getting the following error message (sorry for the translation, i'm writing this from France) : "This action is only valid for already installed products"
Do you have any suggestion ?
Thanks in advance for your precious answers !
Vincent

You're using the wrong GUID. The one you mentioned is for Adobe Reader 10.1.x.
Try
     MsiExec.exe /x{AC76BA86-7AD7-1036-7B44-AA0000000001}
but make sure first that 1036 (French) is actually the correct language code.
Check the registry for the proper key name. You can find it under
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
or
     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
on 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions, respectively.

  • Unable to uninstall adobe reader 8.16 on windows xp

I wanted to uninstal adobe reader 8 after finding I could use adobe reader 9, I uninstalled adobe reader and ended up having to restore my system after a server problem with the new software putting adobe 8 back. I tried to uninstall it again after switching off the machine for a while for the serer to recover, I still cant uninstall 8 even after installing adobe reader 9.

I tried on the day to navigate the adobe site on dial up, adobe should cater to people on a budget if they are going to service us with a free reader. Personally I would prefer another program to decode a pdf document that does just that - without all the other stuff I will never use. Today I found I may be able to uninstall adobe 8 by running kb404307, I couldn't even find a download page for the fix. Once again I got frustrated with my pc and adobe.

Try running the Acrobat and Reader Cleanup Tool:

and then download the full Reader installer from

After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

I am also unable to uninstall Acrobat Reader X. I am taking this action because I cannot open any documents with X. I also keep getting this message or something close, cannot take action because there is another document already opened. But there isn't. That happened when I tried to uninstall Acrobat Reader X and go back to a more reliable version. What is going on with X?

  • Unable to uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS5 12.1.1 via Control Panel (Win7)

I was wondering if anyone can help me we currently have at least 100 users of Adobe Photoshop CS5 12.1 and it is deployed via SCCM 2007. I was able to patch Adobe Photoshop CS5 to v 12.1.1 using AAMEE and we are on the process of having it scripted so it can be pushed to our end users running Windows 7. I was successful in creating a new package using AAMEE but I cannot uninstall photoshop from the Control Panel (Programs and Features) the right click uninstall is disabled. Please note that I am a local admin on the Windows 7 machine that I am working on. Is there a registry key that I need to modify to enable the uninstall feature?
Is uninstallation disabled from the control panel by default when photoshop is packaged using AAMEE?
As of the moment if I need to uninstall Adobe Photoshop I need to run this command ‘msiexec /qn /x ‘Photoshop CS5.msi. I have tried to research on the internet but I was not able to find any solution. I am hoping you can help me when you get a chance
    Thank You,
    William

I have found a solution to this problem. Install the files in safe boot mode. Here is the how to guide:
    Part One:
With past attempts or even previous versions of Adobe CS can be still lying around on your mac, in order to remove the bits and bobs needed in order for a clean install you need to download the 'CS5 Cleaner Tool' by Adobe. This can remove all previous version of CS right back to CS3. This could be the problem effecting you download. This tool can be download from here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/829/cpsid_82947.html
YOU MUST USE THIS TOOL BEFORE MOVING ON TO PART TWO.
    Part Two:
To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), do this:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
    (Source: Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1455)
    Part Three:
Now that you have let your machine boot up in Safe Boot.
        1. Locate the .dmg installation file. This can take a while to load, but be patient.
        2. Click to open the .dmg.
        3. Carry on with the installation as you normally would.
        4. Sit back and enjoy until its 100%.
Once it has installed you can now restart your machine and boot up as normal. Log in and then it should be there in your applications to use.
I have spent nearly 2 days myself trying to figure this out, and finally i have found a solution. I hope this helps anyone who has come across this problem themselves.
    Good Luck,
    John

  • Unable to uninstall Adobe Air

I am not een sure how it was installed in the first place.
Do I need it?  Is it necessary for me to be able to use Flash?
I don't have Acrobat on my system.
I am getting a pop up every few hours on my computer.
    It says:
"this application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found.  Please download the lastest version of the runtime from http://www.adobe.com/go/getair, or contact the application author for an updated version."
Microsoft Fixit would not work either.

It sounds like something on your system is requires AIR to be installed.  Can you install AIR to see if this error goes away?
    get.adobe.com/air
If that fixes the error, the next thing I'd try is to start the uninstall process for AIR.  At the start of this process, a dialog will appear letting you know what applications rely on AIR.  You should see the culprit of this error listed.  At that point, you can decide if AIR is required on your system and if not, you can then uninstall the application and the AIR runtime.

  • Uninstalling Adobe Programmes

I am unable to uninstall Adobe Reader XI 11.0.04 and am asked to verify that it Is  a valid Windows Installer patch package?  I am also unable to uninstall Adobe Air .4.0 2540.

Use the Adobe Cleaner tool to remove Reader. It doesn't use an MSI.
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
You can also try Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.  A post here that's a bit data describes using it to remove AIR and an AIR application (twhirl) but the directions could apply to any AIR application + runtime: http://www.zoliblog.com/tag/adobe-air/

  • Unable to launch Adobe Plugin - after uninstall of Adobe

When accessing some websites, we had an issue where the pagwe would frezze for 50 or 60 seconds - and then we would get
"Unable to launch External Handler" message. After clinking ok twice! the site would load.
So we thought - uninstall Adobe and install an altertative.
    Now we get the message
"Acrobat Plugin - Unable to launh adobe" which is stating the obvious.
Question  - how do we get rid of the Plugin from Internet Explorer 8. I have tried looking at Internet Exploer - Options - and cannot see the plugin listed.

This did it for me... just set the registry key to 1 and reboot.

  • Unable to reach Adobe servers, Please check firewall settings and try again

I have been a creative cloud customer since it started and I've never experienced such buggy software as the app manager. The customer experience is just shocking and I wish Adobe would just offer direct downloads for the software we need rather than use the app manager.
I'm currently trying to install the latest versions of the programs but the app manager keeps showing "Unable to reach Adobe servers, Please check firewall settings and try again in a few minutes".
I do not have any firewalls on my network.
I've uninstalled all previous versions of the applications.
The app manager will download a few % and then the message appears again. I click retry and it downloads another few % before showing the message again. I keep doing this until the program is fully downloaded and installed which take hours. Because I am able to eventually download the app, the error should be anything to do with my setup or internet connection as I've never had this issue before when installing adobe products.
Is there a way we can bypass the app manager and install the programs directly? This is getting very annoying and I just need my apps to install without wasting days clicking the retry button.

I'm having the exact same problem. Photoshop is stuck at 0%.
Have the links for direct download changed? When I went to  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.htmland then scrolled down the page to:
    Photoshop CC 2014 (64-bit)
    740 MB
    File 2
    801 MB
    File 1
and then clicked on File 1 and File 2, I reached a page that says "You don't have permission to access "http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PHSP/15/win64/Photoshop_15_LS20_win64.7z?" on this server."

  • Unable to Install Adobe Air 2.0 on Windows Vista

I have been having trouble with Adobe Air for a while now. I had Adobe Air installed for TweetDeck, but in the past couple months, every time I tried to update TweetDeck, I get the error, "Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator." Then I tried uninstalling Adobe Air through Add/Remove programs in Control Panel and that did not work. I tried uninstalling through Command Line, but I kept getting a fail message. Finally, I removed it manually by removing the Adobe Air folder from my Common Files and then was able to remove Adobe Air from Add/Remove Programs. Now I am trying to reinstall Adobe Air 2.0 and I am getting the same error message. "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator." Your Support page says to use Windows Installer Cleanup Utility but it is no longer available. Please help.

I have tried installing it in the simplifed mode, with my firewall AND virus turned off, contacting Adobe, HP and Microsoft for support but nothing works. also tried the Adobe Support Advisor, but I can't even get it to run. If anyone has any help, I would appreciate it.
You can e-mail me personally at [email protected]
    Thank you.

    Ben,
I don't have Webshots installed. I have ran my AdAware and Spybot, and my Norton's Antivirus. I've also defragged and ran disk cleanup on my C drive. I've ran the Malicious Software Removal from Microsoft, and ran Disk Error Checking. I've done everything I can think of, and I still can't install either one.
I was thinking it was Windows Vista, but surely CS4 is compatible with Windows Vista. I thought maybe it might be the Service Pack 1 and thought about uninstalling that update, trying to install them, then reinstall Service Pack 1. What do you think? Think it might help?
