Hi All -
I am not able to uninstall an application after after upgrading to Build 9879.
It says I do not have sufficient privileges to do the operation. I did not have the issue on the previous build of Windows 10. Please help.

Search local users and groups to confirm if you are in administrators group, you can search this utility:
lusrmgr.msc
Meanwhile, how about installing new application? Do you have the permission?

Try downloading any free app using the App Store on the phone.

Unable to upgrade to build 9879 from 9860 Error 0x80246007

I have tried over 5 times to upgrade to build 9879 and it hangs after the second reboot and I have the setup file on onedrive if someone would be able to take a look at it and let me know what I can do to fix this. Much thanks!

The setupact.log is a record collection of all processes, we may check the migration fault, but we may not find the specific driver in it.
I would look into this log if you upload in forum:

This error is caused by a faulty driver. The graphic card driver could cause such issue indeed. I suggest you update to the latest version, the best way is to confirm it is supported in Windows 8.1 officially.

After Installing Application Server - Problem connecting to my Databases

I have 10g installed on my Windows server, and have no problems connecting to my database(s). After I install Application Server 10g, I am no longer able to connect to any of them, as if the TNSNAMES.ORA file is no longer configured correctly. I am training myself on these applications. Anyone have any suggestions what is happening behind the scenes?

The installation guide under (4) tells me that I don't have to worry since I use a new listener version.
To complete the confusion: on my virtual test machine oracle 10g and oracle AS 10g work fine side by side?? Perhaps because I did a Standard Edition install of the database (on the real machine I used Enterprise Edition)? Is there a way to figure out what kind of install I did?

Whoops, I might had a problem with a not correctly shut down database (just shutted windows down without killing the instance - didn't know this wasn't ok). Still evaluating the issue. But to say the least, it seems the application server has nothing to do with my problem :)

Restoring After Installing Application

Hi,
I'm using Time Machine with a Western Digital My Book 500gb external hard drive. I recently installed an application which doesn't appear to be working well at all, so I want to restore the system to what it was before the application was installed.
On a Windows machine you would simply use the install/uninstall function, but as Macintosh don't seem to have included this yet in their software - even in Leopard! - it seems to me that using the Time Machine Restore function would work in this case (as I have not done any work on the machine since installing the software).
Now, I thought I could just open Time Machine, choose a back-up date that I wanted and click Restore and that would be that, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I either have to choose a folder or file to restore - this is not want I want to do.
How can I simply use Time Machine to restore my Laptop to what it was before I installed the unwanted program?
I thought this was the whole point of Time Machine; being able to restore the system to whenever you wanted. I don't need to reinstall Leopard, and I don't need to roll-back to a previous version of OSX - which is all it talks about in the Apple Help window for Time Machine. I just want to restore the system to what it was before I installed this particular application.
AND: does anyone know of a reliable way to simply uninstall programs with Leopard - apart from dragging and dropping the program icon into the trash, as this does not delete all the related files in the Library, etc.
Any help much appreciated - I want to get this application and all its bits and pieces off my drive.

Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Most applications create preference files which are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can located them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.
There are also several shareware utilities that can uninstall applications:

Uninstaller
Spring Cleaning
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

did u delete the correct system folder.. it will create different system folder for different version.
and are you deleting at the right place.?
C:\Documents and Settings\{user_id}\Application Data\JDeveloper
for the first time yes jdev will create the Default Domain for you.. and that domain is for weblogic 10.3.5

Upgraded my MacbookPro recently. I saw previous answer to margiemzzz on Sept 4, but I cannot find (don't know where to look) for (username>library>preferences) or the items to delete. Please help.

Here is the concerned reply -
Reinstalling doesn't delete the preferences and it's very important in lion and mountain lion to remove the prefs after a major version upgrade, like 10.6 to 10.7 or 10.7 to 10.8.
Go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 settings
and any lockfiles with the same names.
That library is hidden in 10.8. To see it, in the finder click the Go menu and hold down the option key. It will appear below the little house for your user account. While you're in there go to the Saved Application States folder and delete everything for PSE.
It wouldn't hurt to repair permissions, either.
