Unable to uninstall Dreamweaver cs3

Ive been trying for 2 days now to uninstall it.
I had done a system restore on my (WINDOWS) PC because of
some problems I started having, and Dreamweaver CS3 stopped
working. Its a trial version downloaded from here.
Ive read here:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb402004
But none of that helps, or applies to me.
When I click on the dreamweaver.exe file in
programs->Adobe-> dreamweaver cs3, it says:
quote:
"you cannot use the product at this time. You must repair the
problem by uninstalling then reinstalling this product or by
contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for
help."
When I try running the installer file again, it says:
Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 is already installed. To remove or
modify this software please use it's original installer.
Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 Cannot be installed because it
conflicts with:
Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
Please help me. I just want to get it off my PC now and im
VERY frustrated.

I doubt that this is going to work.

You can use the CS3Clean script:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/kb401574
It's designed for removing beta versions, but should also
    work with the
final release. Read the instructions carefully. The script
    will remove
all CS3 programs on your computer.

  • Need to uninstall Dreamweaver cs3, but don't want to lose my files

Need to uninstall and reinstall Dreamweaver cs3.  How do I do that without losing my files?  I only have one website and a couple of dozen files related to it.Dreamweaver support forum

Your files are in a separate folder on your computer, not in the DW folder, so they should be safe.
If your site is live, your files are also on the server, and can be downloaded later if necessary.
DW simply allows you to edit those files by means of your site definition which tells DW where to find those files. Before uninstalling DW, export your site definition (an STE file) to a safe place on your computer for later import into your next DW installation.
Use the cleaner tool before installing your new DW.

  • Cannot Uninstall Dreamweaver CS3

I could not uninstall Dreamweaver using Windows XP "Remove Programs".  When I click "Remove" nothing would happen, so I tried running the Adobe Clean Up utility.
Then when I clicked "Remove", it said it had already been removed and asked if I wanted to remove it from the list.  I did. Now I don't know how to uninstall it.
    Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Doug Collins

    Hello Doug Collins,
maybe I list here wellknown examples how to remove programs (my hints are translated from my German WIN):
Adobes remove program: As we can see it "means" all is deleted. So you should have a look at
Windows Control Panel (Systemsteuerung): Because of above, presumably also unsuccessful.
File manager: Search in your Adobe directory for your CS3, maybe there are remaining some files of it. And after that go to
WIN regedit.exe (the sledgehammer approach): If DW has clearly left its mark, you will find them there. Use search function, BUT be careful by deleting. in any case save your regedit first!
    Good luck!

  • Unable to install Dreamweaver CS3

    Hello
I'm using XP Profesional SP3 and when i try to install Dreamweaver CS3 i get to the Initializing Adobe setup dialog box and it stops running after the bar has filled up. The installation program stops running- i checked in task manager

You might also try the links from http://www.adobe.com/support/creativesuite/#FilteredDataTableRSS_Anchor (JavaScript required. Click on the CS3 tab under Installation Support to see the CS3 links)
There is a CS3 clean script, too.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 uninstall on MAC computer then install and activate on Windows PC

    Dear Sir or Madam,
I have bought and installed Dreamweaver CS3 on my MAC computer since 2008.
I am now using a Windows computer and I would like to:
    1) uninstall Dreamweaver CS3 from my old MAC computer
    2) install, then activate Dreamweaver CS3 on my new Windows computer
Could you please help me how to go about that?
    Thank you for your help,
    Zied Smiri

You can't. Serial numbers are platform specific and platform swaps are only available for the current version which is CS6. CS3 is also too old to qualify for an upgrade so your only options are to buy CS6 or subscribe to the Creative Cloud version of Dreamweaver.

  • Problem inserting images Dreamweaver CS3

Hi, I have Dreamweaver CS3 and Dreamweaver MX 2004 loaded on
the same machine, iMac G5. My OS is 10.4.10 Tiger and all updates
are current. No particular reason, just never got around to
uninstalling the latter. Here's the problem in CS3, but not MX
2004. I can't insert images into my HTML page by any of the
following methods: insert menu at the top of the screen, or click
and drag the file. Copy and pasting the code from another page
won't even work. The only way it works is by typing in the raw code
into code view. I get a strange warning when I try to copy and
paste: something like Java script error. I thoroughly checked my
mark-up and there's no a single speck of Java Script anywhere. I've
also get other strange warnings while trying to put in images:
floating bugs.html, margin bugs.html, and others (sorry this is not
verbatum, but you get the idea). I've tried shutting dowm the
computer and rebooting, but that didn't help either. When I
switching over to MX 2004, same files, I was able to insert images
in all of the various ways mentioned above. So I'm thinking, maybe
I should uninstall Dreamweaver CS3, and reinstall from disk. So, I
did the uninstall, and emptied my trash, but haven't reinstalled
yet. Thought that I should run this by the forum first. thanks for
any help. Yesterday I got multiple sudden unexpected "quits" while
using both versions, losing unsaved work. thanks for any
    suggestions, Deborah North

  • Unable to Uninstall Photoshop CS4 and Dreamweaver CS4

it's been a couple of days since i tried out Photoshop CS4 and Dreamweaver CS4 to see how they compare to the CS3 versions, it worked fine and all till suddenly it stopped working, so i been trying to uninstall/reinstall to get it working under the free trial limit i still have left (27 days as of this writing) it still will not work.
Sometimes i would install Photoshop/Dreamweaver and say an error occurred and some components were unable to install and would be unable to load the file even after doing what the instructions say...
Same goes for when i try to uninstall both Photoshop/Dreamweaver, i would try to uninstall and would still remain in my program files...
I am completely stumped on what to do, i can't even re-install photoshop/dreamweaver cs3 as well due to this...
I am running on Vista 32bit SP1 Pack on HP Pavilion, i want to completely get rid of CS4 versions and go back to my reliable CS3 again, any help please would be greatly appreciated.
    Kantori

John... if you read what I said you would of caught that i did do it:
"did what was suggested, worked like a charm for the CS3 and Dreamweaver CS4 but although it did work on Photoshop CS4. it did something i was dumbfounded to see, it did something odd in which it took out the Uninstall/Change tab option for removing programs (I was viewing it to see if it uninstalled completely) also it brought out a bunch of programs that weren't in that section before and was unable to uninstall/remove them.
So i had to do a system restore point to go back and try again. After doing it two more times (ya two!) still doesn't work, i am 7 hours into trying to resolve this... sigh. "
At that time i said i had done it 2 times, 3 in total, i am on try #6 all with the same results with the exact after effects once i restart my PC.
Here's what it does to tell what goes on:
    1) after installing microsoft's cleaner then opening up the cs4 cleaner under admin, it does its thing, it asks me if i wish to remove Flash Player 10 after choosing remove Photoshop CS4, now here i done both remove Flash Player and not remove it with the same results, losing the uninstall/change option on the control panel, which frustrates me.
    2) After seeing that i try to install Photoshop CS4 again, once its done, i open it up, try to go to the trial option where as i stated previously says there's an error and can't open the trial page which would open up Photoshop completely but since it can't i cannot go beyond that window.
    3) So ya... i try ONCE again to do it all over after restarting and SAMETHING! no uninstall/change option appearing and unable to open up Photoshop CS4 in which i resort to doing a system restore again and trying once more.
NOW, one would think that after the first 3 times it should be working properly, i mean I thought it would after removing both Photoshop CS3 and Dreamweaver CS4 it's bound to do the same for Photoshop CS4, but it doesn't completely create a "FREASH" install. It's like it still remembers what messed up functions it still had and what's up with it removing the uninstall/change option? that just bogles my mind.
i tried many things, re-downloading the trial from adobe, etc i never would of thought just one program could cost me so much wasted time just to get it working and it's a free trial nonetheless so excuse me John Joslin if your remark kind of bugs me, I need some assistance/advice on trying to correct this problem, not a
    "It should have done!
Run it a few times. "
comment that's already common knowledge for me in what I have already been doing long before your post.

  • Uninstall downloaded version of Dreamweaver CS3

I purchased Dreamweaver CS4, downloaded and installed it. Now
I'd like to get rid of the Dreamweaver CS3 files. Trying to
uninstall via Windows control panel does not work since it requires
the original installation disks. I'd like to recover the 209 MB on
my disk. What should I do? Just delete the files in the Program
file directory? I am worried I'd delete some shared
    components.

That's really odd that it requires the disk to uninstall.
There is a CS3 clean tool, and it wipes all instances of the Adobe
software clean. I'm not sure if it will affect your CS4
installation. To be on the safe side, deactivate CS4 before
proceeding in case it affects CS4 and needs to be reinstalled.

  • CF8 + Dreamweaver CS3 - Unable to access Coldfusion Enhancements

So here's the deal. I recently upgraded to both CF8 and
Creative Suite CS3 (woo!) and wanted to use the CF Login Wizard
included as part of the Coldfusion enhancements. Despite having set
up my sites using CF as the testing server, the enhancements
    weren't unlocked.
I checked the Dreamweaver / livedocs help for more on the
    subject and
    found
this article saying that the enhancements can only be unlocked if
you have CF set as your testing server.. Ok . . . and what if
you did that (and have always done that) and it still doesn't work?
All of my software is fully patched, too.
Is the problem that Dreamweaver CS3 doesn't recognize CF8 and
is therefore not unlocking the enhancements? Are there any
work-arounds? I've spent over an hour checking forums and different
websites without any success. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
    in advance.

Your question is a little vague. In order to assist you, one
must know what environment you are in. Assuming that you are using
a local computer, using windows (non NT), and setting up cf8
developer edition in order to have a coldfusion virtual server to
    test webs on:
You must make sure IIS is turned OFF. Clear the internet
information services box from the windows add/remove programs >
    add/remove windows components screen.
When you install Coldfusion, make sure you use the default
settings when clicking through the setup and remember your
coldfusion password. The default setting for localhost port is 8500
Add coldfusion options to dreamweaver using adobe exchange.
Most important parts: Move any website you are trying to
    access into the c:\coldfusion8\wwwroot\ folder.
Edit your site in dreamweaver throught the site > manage
sites > edit > advanced tab
on the Local Info Tab type in:
    Local Root Folder = C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname
    Image Folder = C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname\images
    http://localhost:8500/yoursitesname/
    on the Remote Host tab:
    check the tab Local/Network
    type C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname\
    on the Testing Site tab:
    choose Coldfusion > Local/Network
    Testing Server folder = C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\yoursitesname\
    URL Prefix =
    http://localhost:8500/yoursitesname/
You can't just point to http://localhost/ as you would using,
    say, wamp5.
Once I did this I was able to use everything fine.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 First Run problems

    Installing Dreamweaver CS3 Saga.
I've had some trouble and despite looking for answers and
trying a few things I'm getting nowhere. I've included a timeline
of events below to help explain.
    0) System: New Dell Opliplex 745 running XP Pro Sp2 and
networked to a domain. Educational License ordered for MOPS school.
    Disk delivered.
    1) Tried installing in regular user's account. When it
prompted for admin details, I entered them, but it didn't work.
Insufficient rights to install, fair enough.
    2) Logged on as domain admin. Tried installing. Failed!
    Insufficient rights. Hmmm.
    3) Logged on to local computer as administrator. Installed.
Success! However, could not find the serial number so selected
"trial" option. All worked ok. Emailed supplier to find out why
serial was not included with disk.
    4) Gave regular user full admin rights on computer to avoid
    future hassles.
    5) Obtained serial from supplier (it was on the invoice).
Entered serial number while logged on as user. Dreamweaver accepted
serial but then a blank dialog box (titled Adobe Dreamweaver CS3)
opened over the top of the rest of Dreamweaver and froze up access
to Dreamweaver. Can't close box, can't interact with box apart from
moving it around over the top of DW. It doesn't count as a separate
    window in the task bar.
    6) Ended Dreamweaver process, loaded it again. Blank dialog
box appeared yet again however Dreamweaver began some adobe
updating. ~140mb download. Around 20mb in, some files began
installing - so far so good. Then, adobe updater vanished and we're
    back to frozen dialog box.
    7) Restarted computer. Logged on as user again, ran
Dreamweaver again. Frozen blank dialog box again HOWEVER I did find
that if I was quick I could interact normally with Dreamweaver,
open files, etc for a few seconds until dialog box kicks in. Also
when ending the task instead of ending the process, the windows
message says "The system cannot end this program because it is
waiting for a response from you. To return to windows and check the
status of the program, click cancel. If you choose to end the
program immediately, you will lose any unsaved data. To end the
program, click End Now." Obviously this refers to the blank dialog
box but I can't interact with the box so I can't respond to DW.
    8) Remembering previous troubles, logged off and logged on to
local machine as administrator. Ran Dreamweaver again. This time an
initial dialog box asking about file associations popped up. Then,
Adobe update began running, this time 120mb download. Once again,
around 20mb in, some files installed and then Dreamweaver frozen
dialog box once more is revealed. The rest of the updates are
nowhere to be seen, adobe updater does not seem to be running any
    more.
    9) Found an issue in forums with corrupt Bonjour installation
causing DNS trouble. Figured this might be affecting the updates,
uninstalled the service as outlined elsewhere on this forum. Did
    not help.
    10) Decided to attempt a repair install from the disk. It
seemed to work but then only the shared components seemed to
install. But underneath that in the installation window, it said
both Dreamweaver and the Shared Components failed to install. So
did it fail or did it not fail? Your guess is as good as mine.
    11) Ran Dreamweaver again. This time, a green "scrolling
credits" style window appeared, with "Click here to continue". Upon
clicking, the credits window disappeared and all looked well. I
alt-tabbed to something else but when I went back into Dreamweaver
the blank dialog window was back again.
I've searched the net, and scanned these forums but I am
unable to find a similar issue or any clue as to how to proceed
    next.
I am going to try to uninstall Dreamweaver and reinstall it
fully, while logged on as local admin, probably I will use the CS3
    clean script that I found on the forums to make sure its all gone;
and then I will enter the serial at the same time as installation
to avoid ever triggering the trial installation conditions. In the
meantime if anyone has any suggestions feel free to chip in with
    ideas.
PS Further information which I just remembered: Internet
access is restricted by a proxy. Adobe updater worked fine after
giving it username and password to log on to the proxy. Perhaps
this frozen screen is trying to access the internet?

Further information - when I tried to uninstall I was advised
by the uninstaller that I should deactivate CS3. But I couldn't
find how to do that in the few seconds before everything freezes.
I had an inspiration to pull the network plug out and sure
enough, the frozen window became a window which reads:
Dreamweaver is unable to connect to the internet to register
your product. I selected "Register Never" so hopefully this will
    fix my problem!

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Install on Vista Home Prem

    Hi there
I have just got a new laptop with Vista Home Premium
installed and I have attempted to install Dreamweaver CS3. The
first day it seemed to work fine until I got a message stating that
registration had failed catestrophically. It then shut down and I
was unable to run it since.
I have uninstalled the program, checked that all previous
installs had been unregistered and Installed again.
When I double click to run the application I get the little
circle icon that I guess replaces the egg timer in vista but then
after a second or two it disapears and nothing happens.
I have tried to uninstal, repair the installation but to no
avail. I even tried setting the clock to before the time change
last month as that caused an issue on the XP install on the old
computer but nothing seems to work - does anyone have any
    ideas?????
I have had a look around the forums but not really came up
    with anything.
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks SnakEyez02 .
The Windows restore said that it failed the two times that I
tried it. But after doing this I tried Dreamweaver again and it
seems to be working. The registration has failed again however I am
able to use it. Hopefully one time it wil let the registration
    complete.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 FTP problem

    Hi,
I am unable to connect to my remote server using my new copy
    of Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
When I test the FTP connection I get an error message
I can connect without problems to my remote server using
Microsoft Frontpage and the exact same FTP address, login, and
password - so it is not the server which is at fault
Things I have tried without success
My hosting company told me to either leave the host directory
box blank or put a / in it. Neither of these options work
I have tried retyping my login details carefully.
I have tried checking the ‘use passive FTP’ box
I have tried putting a colon and the port number after the
    FTP address
I have tried writing the FTP address with and without the
    ftp:// symbol
I have tried setting the FTP time out preferences at 60secs,
    30 secs, 120 secs, 10 secs, and 5 secs
I am wondering what else to try, and how I can check whether
or not the software is being blocked by a firewall (in Norton for
example - my windows firewall is switched off) as I do remember
getting a message about this during the install. Or would it be a
good idea to uninstall and reinstall the software?
I would be most grateful for any further information or
    advice.
    Many thanks
    Pippa

    > When I test the FTP connection I get an error message
    What is the error message?
    Here's my experience.
    1. A firewall (any firewall, including but not restricted to
    SP2) may be
blocking your attempts. It's best to completely disable them
    while you are
    troubleshooting this.
    2. The FTP host field should usually always be filled in like
    this -
''www.domain.com'' (without the quotes) and with NO leading
    protocol (e.g.,
http:// or ftp://) (of course, you can always
    use the IP address, too).
    3. Enabling Passive FTP (usually the default for 3rd party
    FTP programs) in
your Remote site definition can often be the gating factor in
    a balky FTP
    connection.
Make sure you use those guidelines and usually your
    connection problem will
    be solved.
By the way, if you find that #1 allows the connection to
    proceed, then you
have to figure out what it is about your firewall that is
    blocking
transmissions. CS3 allows you to fine tune firewall support
    via the
Remote site definition, but you may also need to do a very
    simple thing of
permitting CS3 to make outgoing connections in the Firewall
    configuration.

I am trying to reinstall Dreamweaver CS3 from the CD after having computer issues.  Now getting error "You can only install one Adobe product at a time.  Please complete the other installation before attempting to install ......."  There is no other Adobe product installing.  I have used the Adobe Cleaner Tool many times and uninstalled other Adobe Products but neither has worked.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled this CD version of Dreamweaver several times when changing computers and after having computer issues. A google search of the problem suggested it may be an error related to the number of times I can reinstall this product due to licensing issues.  Please help.

Absolutely not. You are misinterpreting things. The activation check never happens when just running the installer, only much later. It means what it says - there is another "install" pending/ active on your system, meaning somewhere there is an (invisible) process still blocking things. Either way, since you haven't provided any real technical info, we can't advise specifically. if you are on Windows, you may want to check your task manager and terminate any setup.exe and msiexec.exe processes plus potentially may need to manually fix/ delete some registry keys. For anything beyond that you will have to be much more specific.
