Unable to uninstall Internet Explorer 9

while uninstalling its giving error
An error has occurred. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled.

Hi,
In addition to the link provided in the first reply, you can also check the Windows Update log (%windir%\Windowsupdate.log) and CBS log (systemdrive\Windows\Logs\cbs) and look for the failed uninstalled updates, then manually uninstall them from the installed
updates (Control Panel\Windows Updates), or view update history, check whether there're some failed updates especially for IE.

  • After uninstalling internet explorer, how do I get hyperlinks in Outlook to open

Yesterday, I uninstalled Internet Explorer in an effort to free up some hard drive space. Monzilla Firefox is my default browzer and works fine. After IE was uninstalled (using the control panel feature) hyperlinks in my Outlook email fail to open. When the hyperlink is clicked a dialog box opens asking for which program is to be used to open the link. When Firefox is selected another screen pops up saying Firefox cannot find the file :Firefox can't find the file at /C:C:/Program Files/ParetoLogic/PCHA/noapp.

Need to change my description. When Firefox is my default and I click a hyperlink, nothing happens. When IE is my default, the hyperlink opens in IE. Problem is, I prefer to use Firefox.

  • Can I uninstall Internet Explorer completely? I hate it. It clogs up my computer. How can I get rid of it?

Can I uninstall Internet Explorer completely? I have chosen Mozilla Firefox as my internet browser and I like it. Internet Explorer always seems to be doing a lot of stuff behind the scenes and it takes forEVER to do anything. I hate it. I want it gone. Can I do that (and still have my computer function properly)?

It is not recommended to uninstall IE on Windows XP. You can disable IE instead and you won't see the desktop shortcut.

Do not uninstall Internet Explorer if you install Firefox, it will still be needed for some sites such as Windows Update.

  • Unable to open internet explorer after Installation of SAP GUI

    Hello
I installed SAP GUI 7.10 from presentation CD. SAP GUI is successfully installed but I am unable to open IE.
    IE starts downloading a file.
Please help me with this issue.

    Hi Nikhil,
Uninstall the SAPGUI and check if IE returns to normal. If not then reinstall the SAPGUI and on top of it reinstall IE.
However before doing all this, check the following SAP Notes:
Note 66971 - Supported SAP GUI platforms
Note 950975 - SAP GUI for Windows: Support for IE7 (Internet Explorer 7)

  • Unable to query Internet Explorer 9 - 11

Hello, I'm hoping to get some help with locating Internet Explorer 9,10, and 11 installations on workstations in SCCM 2007.
I have tried searching on Add/Remove, iexplore.exe file version. When using the canned SQL queries it can find for example 1 single installed copy of IE9, which I know is wrong. We have hundreds of computers with later versions installed.
    I'm on SCCM 2007 R2
We are unable to upgrade to SCCM 2012 until later this year.
Is there a change or update I can do to collect the new IE version data properly?
    Thank you

    Hi,
couple of reports available here on http://eskonr.com/2010/04/sccm-reportcollection-for-computers-with-internet-explorer-with-different-versions/
    do the changes with Version.

  • Uninstalling Internet Explorer 11 via Command Line

Looking to uninstall IE11 via commandline on a couple hundred PCs that accidentally received the update, anyone have any ideas? The only information on technet is uninstall strings for IE10, which piggybacked on uninstall strings for IE9 - not sure if they
still apply, or if there's a better method.

    Hi,
Vincenzo Di Russo shared a good suggestion.
In addition, you may try remove it in Control Panel:
Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features -> View installed updates
    Hope it works.

  • How to install Adobe PDF toolbar in Internet Explorer after uninstalling IE 10 and installing IE 9

Hello.  I need help installing Adobe PDF convert web page to pdf toolbar to my Internet Explorer 9.  I uninstalled Internet Explorer 11 and 10 because I could not open pdf files in IE 10 or 11 -- trying to open pdf documents froze/locked up Internet Explorer and I had to use Task Manager to exit Internet Explorer every time I tried opening a pdf document.  I have downgraded to IE 9 with the hope that I will have better luck.
I am using Windows 7 operating system.  I have Adobe Acrobat X Pro installed on my computer.
Now that I downgraded to IE 9, I've lost the Adobe convert web page to pdf toolbar.  It is not even in my choice of add ons in Internet Explorer when I go to Manage Add Ons.  How do I get the Adobe toolbar add on back?
I lost my Adobe Acrobat X Pro disk so do not have that to help me in any way.  What can I do?
    Your help is greatly appreciated!

If it is an issue of the AA X disk, you can download from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html. Be sure to create a replacement CD in case it is not available in the future. You will still need your S/N for any reinstall. You can usually get that from the Adobe site as long as you registered Acrobat (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html).

Here's an article from Microsoft on how to uninstall IE9.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/how-do-i-install-or-uninstall-internet-explorer-9
    To uninstall Internet Explorer
If you're trying to uninstall Internet Explorer because of an issue with the browser, first check to see if a solution is listed in Internet Explorer 9 Help and How-to.
The following instructions apply to both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
Click the Start button , type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.
Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.
Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.
    Click one of the following:
Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9 and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).
    Restart later
    I work for HP.

  • Can't get to Outlook Calendar in Internet Explorer

Whenever I am in outlook in Internet Explorer and I attempt to change from my e-mail to my calendar, the page blinks a lot for a few seconds and then I get this message:  "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now.  Please try again later."
    I use hotmail/outlook.
It does do that when I am in Google Chrome.
    Thanks.

I posted this problem a while ago and did not receive a response.
On only one of my computers, Windows 7, I cannot get my Outlook Calendar to load in Internet Explorer 11.  It keeps telling me that "something went wrong and you can't sign in now, try later".
I do not have a problem with Outlook e-mails, only the calendar.
I thought i would uninstall Internet Explorer but I cannot figure out how to do that.
Any suggestions?  (The calendar will load in Firefox and Chrome but I do not use those because they do not support some of my legal software)
    Thanks.  Peggy

  • Internet Explorer 8 will not open

I have been using Internet Explorer a long time with Windows XP SP3. Just recently I needed to do a download for another application and after that download finished I was unable to use Internet Explorer, I downloaded IE8 to try and fix the problem. It
didn't. Internet Explorer is the default browser but it will not open in any menus. I can't even open Help and support either, a lot of applications worn't open now for some reason. Any sugestions??

    Hi,
Based on the current situation, I would like to suggest you use the following methods to check the issue:
    1. Check Your Antivirus & Firewall. Most of the time, the problem is with your antivirus or antispyware. In fact, incorrect settings in your antivirus and antispyware create problems not only with Internet Explorer but any browser or application requiring
data transmission over a network. To check if they are the cause, turn them off.
    2. Check Your Add-Ons. Add-ons or plug-ins are either added manually or are added with the installation of any application such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.  If Internet Explorer begins working properly, one or more of the add-ons are corrupt, and you should
follow the method mentioned in the next paragraph to fix the issue.
    3. Check for Conflicts among Processes. There is high possibility that one of the processes on your machine is conflicting with the functioning of Internet Explorer. To check this, you will have to test your Internet Explorer in a clean boot environment.
    4. Return To Defaults. Resetting Internet Explorer restores the browser to the state when it was first installed.
    Hope it helps.

  • Anyone on Internet Explorer 11

If you downloded Internet Explorer 11 you have found out you can't get into your Smart Wifi application, but when you may not notice your YOUTUBE will keep freezing to so I would suggest uninstalling Internet Explorer 11.
    Issue FIXED.

Please everyone get this info out! I have found numerouspages that are broke cause of Internet Explorer 11. I keep finding numerous pages that will not work on Internet Explorer 11.
    www.marlboro.com
    192.168.1.1
    www.verizonwireless.com
    www.youtube.com
These are all the pages I have found that don't work on Internet Explorer 11.
On www.verizonwireless.com you may get on it but when trying to purchase new service or upgrading you can't not go through everything. you need to move to some other browser for it to work. It seems Microsoft doesn't seem to care about these issue, but if you can't go to web pages and they tell you they don't support your browser what good is your browser.
So it's not even Linksys Smart WiFi software that doesn't work it's numerous pages.

  • Internet Explorer 10 Upgrade Changed FTP View of Folders to Web Folders

After updating multiple computers to Internet Explorer 10 I am finding that the normal folder icons that appear when using FTP Explorer View for SharePoint site mappings have now changed to Web Folder icons.  Is there a setting or fix somewhere
    to change this back?
    Thank You In Advance

In case you are not sure how to uninstall IE10 follow this guide:
Uninstalling Internet Explorer 10, as IE9 is automatically restored once you complete this process.
First of all, click on the “Start” button and type “Programs and Features” in the search box. Click on the “View installed updates” in the left pane of the menu.
Go over to the “Uninstall an update” screen and scroll down to the “Microsoft Windows” section. Simply select Internet Explorer 10 and click “Uninstall.”
It usually takes a while until the process comes to an end, avoid stopping or cancelling it. A reboot is necessary to complete the removal and restore IE9.
