Unable to unlock my iPhone 4
Hi,
I have iPhone 4 BB 02.10.04 and i want to unlock it.
The iPhone is not under any contract and supposed to be free , i got it from a friend who lives in Australia.
The iPhone was bought from Telstra cellular provider in Australia.
I appreciate your help.
Contact Telstra, as they are the only ones that can unlock the phone.

Tap on the "slide to unlock" text, and after you hear the voice, double tap the text. If you have a passcode, tap the letter, wait for the voice, and double tap the letter. Repeat for each letter.
Then go to Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver OFF. You may also be able to turn it off by triple pressing the home button. -

My iphone 4 was dropped and badly damaged, i am trying to save photos etc to computer but cannot as unable to unlock as screen wont work. is there any other way of unlocking it/confirming my password, and syncing to my new computer?
No. There is no way around it short of finding someone to fit it with a new display so that you can enter the passcode (Not an easy thing to do without losing all the data on the phone) which would forfeit your ability to get the phone replaced by Apple.

Unable to unlock my iPhone's SIM
When trying to unlock sim card on my iPhone 4S I see "Unlocking" screen with no reaction for a very very long time (two minutes, still no progress). When I enter wrong PIN, it shows the error, but it's unable to unlock the screen when correct pin is entered.
Any help is much appreciated.If you try to unlock with the wrong code with three invalid codes, it will block you from trying again. You will have to get a PUK code from your carrier to unlock that and if you fail with that after 10 tries, your SIM will be dead and require replacement (possibly purchase).
I suggest you either call (if you can on another phone) Apple for support, stop by your carrier, or a Genius Bar. -

i downloaded ios7 my iphone 4s now isnt working i am unable to slide to unlock my iphone, yet my lock button at the top of my phone is broken and has been for sometime so i have been using the accessibility feature to lock and switch off my iphone i can still click on this button and i can still swipe up and down but i am unable to swipe too unlock and enter my passcode.. so i am thinking somethings wrong with the software? when i try to restore my iphone in itunes i am unable to as ios7 needs for location services to be switched off in iphone but i cant do this cos i cant get into my iphone, can someone please help me,,, please,,,
IF the device does NOT have a cracked screen or liquid damage and is in hardware warrenty.. apple can repair/replace the device for free.
Call apple tech to find out what your croverage is for fixing that button

Apple unable to unlock replacement unlocked iPhone 4S
This is especially important to anyone who purchased an unofficial unlocked iPhone 4S in the USA with an AT&T micro-sim rather than the official unlocked iPhone 4S SKU packages (starting on 11/11/11).
On Oct 17th I purchased a 32gb iPhone 4S at an Apple store in North NJ. The phone was purchased at full price and was indeed unlocked. Unfortunately, the microphone crapped out after one day.
Oct 19th I get a replacement that functions perfectly unfortunately the phone was locked to AT&T. Apple tried feverishly to unlock the phone through their engineering department. The phone was listed on it's profile as "unlocked", but the phone was still locked. The consensus was it was an unforseen issue to an unforseen problem that wasn't anticipated so there was no way to resolve it at the moment. The solution was to return the phone and repurchase another.
Oct 21st I return the replacement phone with the box from the original phone. They bring me a new phone, open the box and hand me the phone. The phone was unlocked.
Oct 31st I get home from a trip and to make a long story short, I break the screen on the unlocked phone. I am unable to get a replacement for my iPhone from any Apple store in my area at this time.
Nov 2nd Apple sends me a replacement they assured me would be unlocked.
Nov 3rd I receive a locked replacement from Apple.
Without going in to too much detail; I spoke to every level of advisor, an engineer for several days following the receipt of the locked replacement and they assured me they would be able to unlock this iPhone by placing the serial number into a database which affirms the unlock every time the phone is synced.
Again, I was assured this would solve the issue of activating the unlock. However it was finally determined (on Nov 11th) that something is inherently wrong in the system. The senior advisor I spoke to yesterday said that the issue I am having has already sprung up a handful of times with similar results. His resultion was for me to go to the Apple store (he made the appointment for me and spoke to the manager of the store) and return my phone and purchase a factory unlocked iPhone 4S.Believe what you want. Maybe it wasn't locked down from the moment of sale, but it was sold as carrier locked to AT&T.
Similarly, news has broken recently that the SIM slots in phones sold on Sprint were unlocked out of the box, but Sprint would be locking them down effective yesteday.
Any phone that came with an AT&T SIM card was not meant to be unlocked. It may have taken some time for Apple/AT&T to pur the serial numbers in the system and get them locked down, but they were never advertised or sold as unlocked. I don't know why Apple would spend so much time on this with you frankly, as unlocked phones did not officially become available to order in the U.S. until yesterday.
Perhaps, now that there is one model of iPhone in the US that for the first time, is available on multiple carriers, They are ALL unlocked on the shelves and are being fed into the database to be locked down at the time of sale. This is the way it has worked in some countries for a while (where there were multiple, supported, GSM carriers).
Either way, you're not going to find much in the way of sympathy here, since Apple did not advertise or market the unlocked iPhone in the US at the time you bought yours.
If you bought your phone on October 17th, then you have 5 more days left to return it for a refund. I sugest you do that and purchase an iPhone that is actually marketed and sold as unlocked instead. -
my 4 digit password is not being recognized on my phone AND i am unable to restore my iphone on my old PC, can an apple store restore my phone and unlock it?
Contact Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 to find out. But they will most likely tell you what you already know...it needs to be restored against the computer is was last linked with.

It sounds like you are swiping your screen to unlock your phone but it is not swiping. Take a look at the info from the following article about troubleshooting the touch screen:

Restart your device
Hold the On/Off button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.
If you can't restart your device, reset it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
Avoid using the device while wearing gloves, with wet hands, or immediately after applying hand lotion.
If you have a protective case, or if you are using a plastic sheet or film on the display, try removing them and testing the device without it.
If the steps above don't resolve your issue, please schedule a service appointment with an Apple Retail Store for evaluation. If an Apple Retail store is not an option, contact Apple to find out your best service option or see theService FAQ for your product.

Tip: To isolate an issue related to a portion of the Multi-Touch display, follow these steps:
Open the Maps application and double-tap each corner, then the center, to verify that it zooms in to each section.
If a specific area is affected in another application, note the location and try to verify touch functionality for that location in the Maps application.
On iPhone and iPod touch, you can also use Calculator:
Open the calculator app to test all but the top row of the screen. Press each button on the calculator and verify activity.
To test the area at the top of the screen, rotate the device to change to the scientific calculator and press the buttons in the left or right two rows.
When speaking with a Mac Genius or Service Provider, you can use this information to assist with evaluation of your issue.

I am using iphone 4s in India. I am facing a problem that some times when I got a call, my iphone got stuck and unable to unlock and I lost that call unattended. Then I have to reboot my iphone. There after it starts working. And in another incidence my iphone home page automatically shows extra large fonts. Plz help to encounter these problems. Sunil
Restore the phone from backup. If this does not work, restore the Phone as a new device not using backup at all.

I've been locked out my MacBook Pro, I was able to lock the MacBook with the find my iPhone app but I'm unable to unlock it with the app or by punching in the code directly to the MacBook, so far the apple store or reps over the phone can not help. I've called a third party retail store for assistance and the tell me I have to pay, even if I get it to work or not... So far nothing these apple "genius" will do to help with this product solution.
I know my passcode/password but I am not able to log in....
Is there anyone that can help?I would guess the fan is the cause of the noise. Suggest you take a look at it.

Unable to unlock iPhone 5 while phone is locked in VoiceOver mode.
Used the accessibility VoiceOver feature for playback while driving. Was unable to unlock phone. Pressing the triple-click feature did not work. The timeout feature disabled the phone from 1 to 60 minutes with each unsuccessful pass code attempt. Dreading having to reset my phone I connected to iTunes. I was able to turn off the VoiceOver feature using the configure universal access feature and unlock the phone.
I own my iPhone 5 since it first came out in fall of 2012. I have never had an issues with the phone dropping WiFi until last month when two weeks into my biling cycle I have received notification from my carrier that I've burned through 75% of my 2G data plan. At first I thought that maybe I have left some apps running and didn't pay attention to what was occuring. So during the next billing cycle which started 10 days ago, I reset the cellurar data usage legend on the phone and kept a close eye on data usage. My phone is on wifi 99% fo the time. When I am not of wifi I only refresh my email account and check the weather. Prior to the last month, I usually use about half a Gig a month. As I've tracked my data usage with my carrier this current cycle, I found there are numerous cellular data usages during the time that I was connected to wifi. I find myself turning off my cellular data which is ridiculous. I know it's not my router, because when I used my friend's wifi, the phone still registered cellular data usage. It was all small amounts during each time, but 10 days into my billing cycle and my phone burned to 1G of data!! I still have 3 weeks of cycle to go. I've also completely rebooted my phone by erasing and reinstalling the iOS. Which btw, did not help. I cannot believe that others have reported this issue and Apple hasn't addressed it yet. The phone seems to be dropping wifi when in sleep mode. This is not normal as I've owned the phone for over a year and haven't had any troubles until last month. Does anyone have any updates on how to deal with this issue without replacing the phone?

Hi, I just joined in today looking for the answer to the same question as wanidao, regarding "unlock slider". I tried what Jolieteddie said about rebooting the phone. If you are like me, I didn't hold the "ON/OFF" button at the top of the phone, and the "unlock button ",(little indented button at the bottom of phone with little square around it), long enough. I tried it again and held both buttons at the same time until the "apple" icon comes on. It took a couple
