Unable to Update Adobe Flash with OSX 10.9.1
I keep getting emails from friends that take me to a Safari page, but the window has a small note saying I have to download the latest Adobe Flash Drive to see the video. When I try to accomplish this, nothing downloads over and over again. Any ideas as how to download the update?
1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
Press the "Delete All" button
Install Adobe Flash Player.
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Follow the prompts.
Quit Safari.
Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Allow Plug-ins
Safari > Preferences > Security
Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
Enable it.
Press " Manage Website Settings" button for more options.

Unable to update adobe flash using my mac mini
After many attempts to install Adobe Flash on my Mac Mini even though the prompts read the software is installed, I am unable to access an application. I have installed, uninstalled and shut down numerous times and have still been unsuccessful. Please help?
Thank you for extending you help. The issue was Safari was not able to do the download and we needed to use Chrome.

My iMac (OS X 10.8.2) is unable to update Adobe Flash. I use both Chrome and Safari, which Chrome updates automatically and Safari does not. However this is not the problem. i have repeatedly tried to update Flash Player for Safari, all times failed. a pop up box states that the reason is "image data corrupted". How do i overcome this technical problem?
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
Reboot, any change? -
I updated Adobe flash player and now i'm unable to open Opera and I have to use the power button to shut the computer down.
How do you delete programs?
thanksIf Flash Player is indeed the problem I would suggest using the Adobe Uninstaller.
Have you tried using a different browser such as Chrome, Firefox or Safari to see if they have a problem with Flash? -
Unable to install Adobe Flash Player in iMAC with OS X10.7.2 Any suggestions?
Unable to install Adobe Flash Player iniMAC with OS X 10.7.2 Lion. Any suggestions?
I have administrative prviledges.
I obtained the latest version from the Adobe website.
When I double click on the .dmg file I receive a message that I need to close open browsers which I do.
Then I get a message stating that Adobe will be installed when I reopen browers.
Finally when I check the Applications folder I find a file titled: Install Adobe Flash Player.
This same application is shown in the dock.
When I click in the file in either the Applications folder or the dock, the complete installation process starts again.
Any suggestions? -
How to update adobe flash player with os10.6.8
how to update adobe flash player with os10.6.8
You can check here what version of Flash player you actually have installed: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser, but check this also:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5655?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US which also covers ‘blocked plug-in’. -
The latest automatic update (in March) was accompanied by "You should update Adobe Flash Player right now". Having done this a few days ago a new Firefox update arrived (today 7. March) with the same "request". Why does this happen and what can I do to stop it? Firefox 3.6.15 and Adobe flash player 10.1.82.76 are currently installed.
Shockwave Flash 10.1 r82 is not the latest version of Flash. '''r152''' is the latest.

Problem updating Adobe Flash Player with Safari
Hello!
I'm trying to update Adobe Flash Player using Safari on a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.10.1 but every time I download the update the file looks like this:
and when I try to start the installation this window appears:
I tried several different download links but non of them worked. I also uninstalled the Adobe Flash Player and tried to reinstall it but then I have the same problem. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thank you!For some reason that I have yet to determine, people with Matlab installed start getting .mdlp extensions appended to their downloaded files. That's what happened here. Rename the file to remove .mdlp (so that it ends in .dmg), then double-click the file and it should work.

In the process of updating Adobe Flash, Firefox froze. It registers as being open, and none of the fixes I've tried will work as long as it's open, but I can't close it. Even when I click on the Firefox icon, the Firefox menu bar doesn't appear. No Firefox window appears.
Good advice - I'll keep that in mind. Thanks

I am a Macbook user Lion OS X 10.7.5 …have been using Target, Walgreens, Shutterfly, etc. for 5 years with photo developing. Recently cannot use any of these photo websites because of the "Plug In Failure" error..which I have never had. Have updated adobe flash player..still to no avail. Suggestions? Thank you.
You need to do a "clean install": http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1267823
That'll remove the old plug-in completely.
Works 99% of the time. -
HT1338 can't download adobe flash on osx mountain lion
can't download adobe flash on osx mountain lion
Here are the steps to successful Flash install that work every time for me.
Initially, download latest Adobe Flash PlayerAdobe location only!
Once it is downloaded, quit all browsers, and system preferences (if open) - this part is crucial.Installer will download to the Stack, next to your Trash icon in the Dock
Click once on the Stack to open it.
Click once on the Flash Installer to open the installer.
Double-click on the red Install Adobe Flash Player icon
Agree, by choosing open on the pop-up dialog
Enter your login password to proceed.
Installed
The Flash browser plug-in is installed
The Flash system preferences panel is installed
Remove Adobe Flash Player installer from desktopRight contextual menu on installer icon - Eject “Adobe Flash Player Installer”
The System Preferences Flash panel has an Advanced setting. On the advanced setting tab screen is a Delete All... button. This cleans up all the Flash carcasses left on your system after browsing and/or movie events. Sometimes, this actually clears up an otherwise unexplained browser behavior. I consider this just as important as clearing browser cache.
From this point forward, you can also check for new Flash Player releases from this panel too. Once the update has downloaded, again, exit all browser sessions and make certain System Preferences is closed. If it is open during the install, the install will fail.
