In the title you mention windows update, a windows update should not apply to an iPad because it won't run on your iPad.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Everything was working fine until recently when there was an update available for iTunes, and when I tried to update this, I got the message, "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. Error code is 2330." Can somebody please help me?

Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits.
Version: 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Directory: C:\Windows\system32
RAM: 1.00 GB.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Unable to scan and install windows updates on Win 2008 R2 server

I've encountered some of my win 2008 servers are unable to scan and receive windows updates from SCCM 2012. Browse through the logs and found some error code related to
0x80244023. Excerpt from the WindowsUpdate and WUAHandler is as below. Searched the net and found some workaround which is to rename the registry key
WinHTTPSettings to WinHTTPSettingsx (by adding x at the end of the string)
under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Internet Settings -> Connections.
I've did just that on the effected servers and after running again the Software Update Scan Cycle action, it is now able to scan and install the updates. My questions is, based on you guys experience, is there any repercussion (apart from enable to install
software updates) that I could encounter in changing the registry key value WinHTTPSettings?

If SCCM is setup correctly and your boundaries are correct then once you deploy updates the agents will pick them up.
Also make sure you SUP role has the FQDN set. Lastly if you are using port 8530 make sure it is open.

Can you locate the iTunes Library.itl file on the old drive? Ideally you would have simply copied over the entire iTunes folder structure from <User's Music> on the old computer into <User's Music> on the new one to transfer the library will all playlists, ratings, play counts etc. intact.

Thanks so much! I am backing up the entire computer now with an external hard drive - this should be fine right? And surely if I am backing up the whole computer these projects/videos will be backed up too? I wasn't sure how to do this any other way and I am clearly not great with tech issues. Many of us had the same problem. If you scroll thru the questions, you'll see your same question/problems dating back over a month ago when the new update first came out. The Apple Software Updater just showed blank, it didn't show the update. I patiently waited, knew it wasn't my computer since scores of us were having same problem not being able to do the update. Knew eventually Apple would fix it. Lo & behold when I signed on to my computer today a window popped up from Apple Software telling me updates were available & I clicked the "download" and it downloaded just great. I was able to sync my Ipod and Ipad to it just fine, etc. So probably if you can just wait...is your current ITunes working? If so, wait. Looks like there is a fix coming to all of us.(Note, that the "update" pop up window was different than the little window you've probably been seeing on your ITunes screen. This one didn't come up when I opened up ITunes. It popped up on my desktop. I have Win 7. Good Luck.
