I have been unable to update to the most current version of photoshop, nor can I run the application. I recieve the message 'Dowload error. Please retry or contact customer support.(49)' each time.

Can I install and run Photoshop CS2 on a Windows 7 64Bit OS?

I just purchased a computer It is a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS. Can I install and run Photoshop CS2? What issues would I have?

For what it's worth I have Photoshop CS2 running fine on Vista x64, but I've not moved it over to my Windows 7 x64 machine. Generally speaking, things that work fine on Vista x64 work fine on Windows 7 x64.
That said, you might want to wait until you hear from someone who's actually tried the exact combination themselves.

Hold crtl and run photoshop cs6 , can someone help me?

i know that holding ctrl+alt+shift and run photoshop should reset the preferences
and shift+f2 or only shift should ask me to disable yes or not the plugins
but i did notice that holding the crtl and run cs6 , it does perform some action
it doesn't reset preferences or asks to disable or enalbe plugins or select a new folder
but for sure holding Ctrl (in windows) and start photoshop cs6 (in my case 64bit under windows 7 sp1 64) performs an action
might someone tell/explain what does photoshop cs6 when starts holding the key CTRL

Adobe writes To restore preferences quickly using a keyboard short cut:
Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the
current settings. The new preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop.
Note: Using the keyboard shortcut, preference files for custom shortcuts, workspaces, and color settings will also be reset to default.
However If you use windows and double click on desktop icon to Start Photoshop you need to do that then quickly Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows). If your not prompted to delete you missed the reset startup window. If your holding down Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) and double click a desktop icon the shortcut icon's property window will open not Photoshop.
Adobe writes Troubleshoot installed optional and third-party plug-ins
To quickly determine whether Photoshop is loading a problematic optional or third-party plug-ins, do the following:
Close Photoshop.
Hold down the Shift key and launch Photoshop. A dialog will appear during launch that reads "Skip loading optional and third-party plug-ins?"
Click Yes to skip loading optional and third-party plug-ins.
Note: This only disables optional and third-party for the current session. If you quit and restart Photoshop without holding down the Shift key, the optional or third-party plug-ins will be enabled.
So f2 is not needed only the shift is needed to get the prompt.
CS6 does start differently when Ctrl is held down on my windows 7 machine. I see the normal CS6 splash screen on my desktop as usually for a while then a black window with white border appears below the splash screen that windows closes then the Phototoshop Desktop window opens on top and the splash window is closed.
I can not find any documentation on the Ctrl key startup process Adobe's Documentation is not the best. Also holding the Alt Key seems to work the same was as the ctrl key.

If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. This procedure is a diagnostic test. In reference to Lynley Stanley, I too am having the exact problem. I downloaded as for my class of Animation and Visual Effects at the Academy of Art University while waiting for my software to come in the mail from Academic Superstore. I am so frustrated about this that such an issue has caused so much madness. In the process of trying to remove Adobe Photoshop CS3 from my Windows Vista I was searching for info on how to uninstall as I was in a hurry to uninstall the program because my 4th week into class started using the program as students are expected to follow along having their own for assignments. Well, now I'm behind and I don't want to fail because of something that is causing the problem as I'd like to call intentional. In the process of trying to figure a way to uninstall fast as not to fall behind and fail in class I downloaded Perfect Uninstaller but I don't know how it will work. Now in reference of trying to quickly uninstall just to keep up with class, that will not be possible, so now I had to take time to look online knowing I'm falling more and more behind because of this difficult matter I finally found this and hopefully I'll be going somewhere as to have the problem corrected. What iPhone do you have? You can check in settings>>general>> about.
If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

The version of Photoshop which you have is not clear so you can send us the serial in private message in my inbox & I can look it for you.
However, serial numbers are no longer a concept for Creative Cloud & the subscriptions are now attached to your Adobe ID's (mostly your email ID)

When you select update, verify that it is showing your correct Apple ID, perhaps you have an app that was downloaded with a different ID, all apps are always associated with the ID that first downloaded them.

Unable to update bridge or photoshop.

I purchased photo shop, bridge and light room pre installed on my laptop direct from Sony. I'm unable to update bridge as the error message appears.
(Bridge is unable to check for updates.
The most likely causes are an inability to connect to the internet or being logged in as a non-administrative user.)
I have asked Sony for help which they haven't been able to provide and I'm connected to the internet. I am also the only user of this laptop. In photo shop it doesn't even give me the option of updating. I am only able to use part of these programs and not view any photos in Raw as I can't download the converter.
Any help or advice most welcome.

Hello, are you using IE 8? Another person I have been trying to help described the manage add ons in the same way. I use IE6, so probably a little difference in the versions.
Well, then go to Tools>Internet Explorer>Settings>View Objects and see if you can find Shockwave Flash in the listings of Add ons. If you find it RIGHT click on it and a small window opens, click on Update, wait until finished, close windows, browsers and Reboot. See if this
makes a difference.
Did you go to this link www.adobe.com/software/flash/about and did Adobe confirm you have F.P. installed and show what version you have?
That site is what I used and was confirmed by Adobe that I have F.P. 10 Active X the latest version.
