Unable to update apps in iOS 8.0.2 iPhone 5S

I'm unable to update any apps on my iPhone 5S.
Problem started after I updated to iOS version 8.0.0. Oddly, apps updated for a while, then stopped about 2 days ago.
I upgraded to 8.0.2 hoping it would solve the problem. Still a problem.
I receive notifications in the App Store that apps are ready for an update. I go into the App Store and click to "update" on individual apps or "update all". In both cases, the little blue square in a circle loads (looks like it's about to download the update), but no progress indicator shows that it's / they're downloading.
Have rebooted. No help.
Have signed out and back into the App Store. Didn't fix it.
Turned off Family Sharing. Didn't fix it.
I've attempted to update the apps using 3 different Wi-Fi networks, all of them with a strong signal. Have also tried while tethered to laptop via iTunes.
Little help?

hi, Brett - I'm having a problem now restarting my iPhone.
iTunes (yep, it's the latest Windows version) keeps crashing ("iTunes has stopped working" message).
The installed apps are blacked out with text beneath the icon "Waiting".
And iTunes crashes on step 4 of 4 (Syncing Apps to John Alton iPhone 5S - step 5 of 5). Starts on the first app it tries to reinstall / sync.
I am manually installing each application because I'm unable to bring back from syn. (On the iPhone, in App Store, go to Purchased > Not on this iPhone,
But I'm still unable to run iTunes because it crashes while attempting to re-load the applications and data.
Little help?
thanks,
John

  • Unable to update apps in iOS 8

I updated my iPad Air to IOS 8 without difficulty, and some apps updated automatically.  Last night all app update downloads failed - just didn't download.  After going through the troubleshooting, still no luck.  The iPad is working fine otherwise.  I closed all applications, rebooted the iPad, synced again (I do it every few days with my iMac), rebooted by router, and reset all settings.  Nothing worked.  My local Apple reseller was unable to help!  Any ideas or is this an IOS 8 glitch?

  • Unable to update apps after IOS 6

I have 14 app pending updates since IOS 6 and NOT being able to update due to billing info update as the app store suposedly wasn't able to process a previous purchase. Now I want to update the 14 already bought apps and I can't due to this stupid message. As far as know if you don't have enough funds available you can't install or download any app. How could a previous purchase cause any problem? Any help?

Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.

  • Unable to update apps on 4s after upgrading to iOS 8.1

    Hi,
I am unable to update apps on 4s app store after upgrading to iOS 8.1. signed in on app store & icloud still app upgrading will show circle running but wouldn't start upgrading. location service OFF, tried after changing to location service ON but still won't upgrade. what should be the issue? any correct way to update apps. I have been using for long, never had issue with app store on previous iOS migrations. anyone here can help please.

    Hi there Sam R 12,
You may want to try force closing all open apps and resetting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the articles below for more information.
iOS: Force an app to close
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

  • Unable to update apps on iPad mini. I have even restored the iPad and now I can't download any of my previously purchased apps.

Can someone help me. I am using an iPad mini with iOS 7.0.4 with wifi connection. Have had no problems until recently when I was unable to update apps and then noticed that some apps would open but no data would be available in apps like intelicast and Pinterest. I have restored the iPad and now I am unable to download any of my previously purchased apps.

    1. Make sure iPad is using the latest software
    2. Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
    3. Make sure Time Zone is correct
    4. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

  • Unable to update apps after 10.5 update

I have been unable to update apps on my iPhone since downloading iTunes 10.5.
I have an established connection in iTunes to my account and can download apps but when I when I click on "# Updates Available" I am asked to sign in again and then receive a message that the iTunes Store is unavailable and to try again later.
All system software is up to date and I have update my iOS to 5. I am able to connect to the store via my iPhone and update there but do not understand why I can't view the updates on my Mac.
    Please help

Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes. Keep in mind that no one here represents Apple or can help with customer-service issues.
    Step 1
A purchased app can only be updated by signing in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that was originally used to buy it. There's no way around that limitation, which also applies to free apps. If you can't sign in with the buyer's ID, delete the app and reinstall it. You'll have to pay for it again, if applicable.
    Step 2
If you get the alert when trying to update a bundled iLife app, select the Purchases page in the App Store and locate the app in your purchase history. If there's a button marked ACCEPT on the right, click it.
If you have a used Mac, the bundled apps were linked to the original owner's Apple ID and can't be transferred to you. Reportedly, customer service has issued redemption codes to some second owners who asked, but it's not guaranteed.
    Step 3
If you're trying to update iLife or iWork apps that were installed from a purchased DVD, or if you have a refurbished Mac bought directly from Apple, contact App Store customer service for a redemption code. You may be asked for the part number of the DVD.
    Step 4
From the App Store menu bar, select
              Store ▹ View My Account
Enter your Apple ID password at the prompt. At the lower right corner of the window that opens, click the Reset button. Close the window.
    Step 5
According to a report, the error can result from changing the language setting of your Apple ID account. I can't confirm.

  • HT4623 I recently updated to the iOS 7 on my iPhone 4.  The majority of apps that I have are in a "waiting" mode now, and are not usable.  How do I fix this?

I recently updated to the iOS 7 on my iPhone 4.  The majority of apps say they are "waiting" are are not useable.  This has been the case for three days.  I have tried to turning my phone on and off, and that has not helped.  I have also connected to the internet in different locations thinking that it may be the speed, but this has not helped either.  How can I fix this problem?

Can you delete the apps and try re-downloading them, one at a time?

  • Unable to update apps in app  store after installing 8.1.3

I have been unable to update apps in app  store after installing 8.1.3
Is anyone else having this problem?

Yes, on iPhone, but ok on iPad. It says I have 12 Updates, but doesn't say what they are. I sync'd with iTunes on the Mac and everything is up to date there. I think if there are no Updates in iTunes, then you are up to date. It may be an issue with Notifications. I'm turning Alerts off in iPhones Notifications settings for now so I don't have to look at the number. Welp, now it says 11 Updates.

  • TS1368 my ipad2 is unable to update apps.

Hi, my ipad2 is unable to update apps. When i tap on the update icon I get the message, "unable to connect to itunes store". But i can still go to itunes and download new apps or search my apps and update individually.

Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.
If that doesn't solve it then what has worked for some people is going into Settings > General > Date & Time and change the date to a few months in the future and then re-trying

When you select update, verify that it is showing your correct Apple ID, perhaps you have an app that was downloaded with a different ID, all apps are always associated with the ID that first downloaded them.

  • How do I delete apps in iOS 7 from my iPhone?

How do I delete apps in iOS 7 from my iPhone?

Same way as you always have done -- press and hold 'till they wiggle, then tap the [x] in the corner of the one you want to delete.  Or, change your sync settings via iTunes to not sync apps you don't want/need.
Note that you cannot eliminate built-in apps like Weather, Stocks, etc.

  • Unable to update apps in-phone or via iTunes after updating iOS

    Hello!
I'm using an iPhone 4S, jailbroken with redsn0w, with an Orange SIM card in France. I've tried using three country settings for my Apple ID (same email address, linked to my bank accounts in the US, UK, and France). The phone was working perfectly on iOS 5.1, but after updating to iOS 6, I haven't been able to update the apps on the iPhone. The apps are up-to-date on iTunes on my computer, but I can't get them to sync to the phone (despite there being no obvious problem [e.g. error message] on the computer end). When I tap the 'Update' or 'Update All' buttons in the iPhone app store, the buttons turn a darker shade of grey, and then nothing happens. Everything else is working fine.
I've tried the standard 'hold down the power and home buttons' and some of the other suggestions on here, such as changing the time to a year in the future. Any other ideas would be gratefully welcomed!
