Unable to update from ver 10 to 11.01.03.

Hi
I am trying to update from ver10 to ver 11.01.03 but unable to update.
I have follwoed the following steps...
1) Checked for updates
2) Accepted update
3) Downloaded updates
4) Restrated the computer.
After all the above steps when I check in About tab of itunes, it still shows itunes10.
How sould I update to the latest version of itunes ?

There are no other usbs running
I am connected to the internet
I even closed all programs

firmware and ispw files were all okay
Apparently the hosts file had that ##.apple.com address
Had to delete that... it wouldn't let me save changes...
to do that... had to download text wrangler... T_T

Why am I unable to update from firefox 4.0.1 on mac osX 10.6.8 when my Mac meets the requirements?

I have a Mac OSX (10.6.8) with an 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 Processor, 16GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory and 2TB hard drive.
Yet I am unable to upgrade from FireFox version 4.0.1
I can no longer access my YouTube account, and other websites, because I am told the FireFox version I am running is not compatible.
Why am I unable to upgrade to the latest version of FireFox?
Do you just not want Mac owners to run your browser? It seems this is the case as this has been an ongoing issue that should have been resolved already.

Unable to update from 10.4.8 to 10.4.9 or 10.4.10

I am trying to install the Mac OS X Combined (PowerPC) update and get the stop sign with the exclamation mark inside.
I have 16.8GB of free space on the drive.
"Installing this software requires 512MB of space"
"You cannot install Max OS X Update Combined (PowerPC) on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
I had the same problem when trying to update to 10.4.9 but figured it wasn't something I needed to do really, but now I am finding I cannot update anything. When I run Software Update, there is never anything that comes up as needing to be updated. I can't install security fixes or anything else either. Why am I unable to update anything on my iMac?

I never checked permissions.....so I ran disk utility and some permissions were not set correctly. What would cause that? Did I somehow change them without knowing?

Also, does Apple cover bad hard drives with their warranty? I did a surface scan and the volume is damaged and unable to repair because it is the OS...can it be fixed, or do I need to contact Apple under the warranty?

I have consistently seen Firmware updates available.. Up to V.300.x.xx now, however everytime I enter my Product code, it says my version is the only one avaialble...

Locked phones can only upgrade to branded firmware and 3 have simply not bothered to work on any firmware release since 100.07.76, so all their E71s are stuck with old firmware and riddled with bugs.
A post on the thread below suggests they are working on it though and that if you call them they will then notify you when an upgrade is possible.

Frankly it is long overdue and unacceptable for phones of this type to go so long without new firmware.
I only got the E71 because T-Mobile wouldn't upgrade me to a BB last year. Wish I'd gone elsewhere now, this phone has been nothing but trouble - patchy coverage, intermittent (at best) internet needing constant phone reboots, and terrible battery life. All issues that could be (and probably have been by everyone else) improved in firmware.
If you're not on 3 it would be interesting to hear who else is so lazy?

Unable to update from apps store

After downloading Yosemite I can not update from apps store. This is the prompt I get:
This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
Now Apple doesn't recognize the serial number of my iMac.
Any help would be appreciated.

G4 iBook - Cant update from Vers 10.4.03 to 10.4.11 even from Apple site

It gets all the way to the end then a msg come up disc failed to mount.
I have tried a few times.
Even when i try it from the apple icon and update software it then gets to the very end and a screen says i must restart the computer but it won't install.
My iBook seems to be unable to read any cds now ...
I don't have the original installations discs for Tiger ...
It is possible to buy them i see but if my drive isn't reading ...

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.
Reapply the Combo update...

Creative Cloud Lightroom unable to update from 4.3 to 4.4

I am currently on a Mac and my Adobe Creative Cloud Application Manager (AAM) is having some issues.
I ran the update this morning when I heard that camera raw had been updated. The updated completely successfully for camera raw.
AAM is showing that my current version of Lightroom is 4.4. When launching the Lightroom application it is still showing that it is 4.3 and that the update for 4.4 is available. I checked the application manager in OSX and it shows that the current version is indeed still 4.3.
Since I am using creative cloud and not stand alone products, I thought that the AAM would update my programs and why is the AAM not updating my Lightroom from 4.3 to 4.4. Is it because camera raw updated and it is erroneously reporting that Lightroom has been updated?
I have never used a beta or RC version of lightroom on this computer, only final products and updates that have been provided with creative cloud.
Is Lightroom a program that you have to manually update outside of creative cloud application manager? That doesn't make sense to me since it is one of the programs included with the subscription and was installed with the application manager.
My hopes are that I'm not the only one having this issue and by posting this Adobe becomes aware of this.

Yes, same issue here. It is a bit annoying that Adobe has not integrated LR fully to their Creative Cloud package. I would have really hoped that the AAM would be the hub for installing and updating all Creative Cloud applications. The new Camera Raw update for Photoshop works ok from AAM.
And I have a faint memory of having recognition problems when LR was installed outside AAM...
It would be nice if someone from Adobe could report the official update procedures - even if it would mean doing a manual update outside the AAM. It seems to be next to impossible to find any documentation on this anywhere.

Unable to update from version 4 to version 5

I have a VISTA system with Itune that is up to date. I have had trouble updating my iphone 4 to the new update. It hangs up on the backing up portion of the sync.

You most likely have either a corrupt sockets layer in Windows or a corrupt backup. For the first, open a Command window with Administrator privileges and enter:
netsh winsock reset
then reboot. This can do no harm; if winsock is not broken this will not do anything.
Next try to back up separately; right click on the iPhone's name in iTunes and choose "Backup" from the floating menu,
If you still have a problem delete the backup by going to iTunes preferences, Devices tab.

Unable to update from 10.4.8 to 10.4.11

Every time i try to update to 10.4.11 using the combo 10.4.11 ppc updater,within 2secs of hitting install button i get there were errors installing the software. I have downloaded the file directly with the same results as software update. I have verified my permissions and well as verified the disk. Nothing seems to work. I have about 10.4 gb free out of 55gb available. I have set up a new account to see if it would change anything with the same results.
The installer log says The following install step failed: run preflight script for MacOS X Update Combined (PowerPC). In the log text it says preflight library not loaded because image not found. Any help?

Could be many things, we should start with this...

Then Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it finishes.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, or things don't load/run, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates again, or even do an A&I if you have enough free disk space.

Successfull iPhone4 update from ver 4.1 to 4.2...

I'm new to Apple products and iPhone4 is my 1st product. I purchased it a week ago, (Dec. 01).
Just wanted to announce that iTunes update went smoothly and without a hitch using Download and Install button. Total time from download to reboot of iPhone4 took about 38 mins and then it automatically syncd. I'm on a DSL with download speed under 4MBS. All the previous Apps have been loaded. I'm a happy camper after reading how some of you have had problems with updates.

its really only a handful of people who have trouble with updates the first 3 days of sales were like 1.75 million phones there is probably a few hundred people that come to these forums with update problems most the time it go's without a hitch

Unable to update from ios4 to 4.1

When I try to update my phone it keeps giving me this error "The iphone could not be updated because the firmware file was corrupt. Disconnect and reconnect, then try again."
I have tried this on numerous occasions and I keep getting the same error, I have 2 phones that I'm trying to update and I get the same error message on both.

You need to delete the firmware update file. It can be found by entering the following in an Windows Explorer address bar:
*%appdata%\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates*
The file type will be ".ipsw"
Next, disable your antivirus.
Then you should try to update again, but this time choose "download only" the first time, then, after the download completes, click the Update button again.
If it fails again you need to edit the Registry and save, then remove, the entry for "TcpWindowSize". If you don't know how to do this from this brief description don't try; get help.
