Hi I recently purchased HTC one m8 32 gb factory unlocked verizon & using in India with GSM provider, everything works fine however i am facing 2 major issues
unable to update software - it mentions software update only available in cdma mode however i am using gsm
extremely slow charging- charging is really slow, to the point where had to put phone on charger for 24 hours to get it 100% charged
It does not have extreme saving mode as well

Is the SIM operating. Try taking it out and putting in again. Also try with a diffrent iPhone. Are you SURE your iPhone is unlocked? HOW did you unlock it? There is no such thing as a "factory unlock" on the iPhone.

Unable to update at one go - Frustrated

I have recently purchased an 80 GB model and am trying to transfer songs from my external hard disk. The problem is that iTunes hangs after updating about 100-150 songs. I then have to terminate iTunes (CtrlAltDel). Then restart iTunes. I have done that about 20 times to get about 3000 songs... I still have a long way to go... I tried restoring iPod with no luck..... really really frustrated. Any & all help appreciated...

Factory Unlocked 1020 - 8.1 Update

I recently purchased a factory unlocked Nokia 1020 from the Microsoft Store in the US. I'm using AT&T Go Phone as my provider.
I'm excited to get the 8.1 update but it hasn't come yet. The MS Store and AT&T couldn't tell me when the update would come to factory unlocked phones and when I check the Nokia update page I don't see any information on unlocked phones.
How can I find out when 8.1. will be available for my device? Thank you.

I'm in the U.S., and AT&T has sent the update for locked Nokia 1020 phones but not for unlocked Nokia 1020 phones bought from the microsoft store. Why is that? Testing can't be the reason, as the phones are exactly the same.
I really want some of the functionality in Windows 8.1 and also want to see if it corrects a problem where my bluetooth heart rate monitor doesn't work with the phone (but works with my old Android phone).

Sorry, that message means your phone is not officially unlocked, but rather was hacked to unlock it. That's what happens to hacked iPhones when updating or restoring software: they are relocked to the carrier they were originally locked to. That's what has happened to you.
Only the carrier an iPhone is locked to can authorize the phone's official unlocking. You will have to determine what carrier this is & contact them. There is no other solution & Apple cannot help you.

Did you buy it direct from Apple as unlocked? Or did you formally ask your carrier to unlock it, and then restore it in iTunes to process that unlock request after they told it was ready?
If not, then yes, it is going to relock as you did not officially unlock it.

Is there a way to definitively identify whether an iPhone 5 is factory unlocked, meaning it came unlocked from Apple? Are there particular model numbers that specify a factory unlocked iPhone 5? I called Apple and the reps could not give me this information. It seems that there should be model numbers that specify whether an iPhone 5 came factory unlocked when purchased. From what I read the new 2014 flagship One could be announced in February (to coincide with Mobile World Congress).

Can not update 5.1.1 to 6.0 on factory unlocked iPhone 4S - An unknown error occurred (-1) (21)

HI all,
for the first time, one of my Apple products is making me mad.
1.) I have an factory unlocked iPhone 4S running 5.1.1
2.) When I try to update, it (MacBook Pro running 10.8.1) extracts the software and then after a few seconds it shows me (An unknown error occurred (-1))
3.) When I put the phone in DFU Mode and try to update it shows me (An unkown error occurred (21)) - The iPhone freezes at the Apple Logo
I have downloaded the IPSW again (Yes I am sure I have the one for iPhone 4S), have downloaded and installed iTunes 10.7. Further I have installed iTunes fresh on a another Laptop (iTunes 10.7 on Windows 7) - Same behavior there.
The funny thing is, when I restore the iPhone to 5.1.1 it restores it without any problem. I have also tried to first make a restore on 5.1.1 and directly on 6.0. Same problem.
PLEASE HELP ME!

You might try using RedsNow to put it in DFU mode.

Factory unlocked iPhone 4 locked itself after 5.1.1 update?

I have an iPhone on the network 3, but am moving to tesco mobile. The phone is unlocked, and I have had other sims in it before. Since this update, only my 3 sim will work? Is on a new baseband too. 04.12.01
My phone has always worked before hand with other sim cards, so I can't get my head about what could be wrong.
When I put the sim in I get no service, and when I go into airplane mode and back out, it says sim failure. I know its not the sim itself, because it is a new sim and I have tested it in my HTC Wildfire.
I jumped from IOS 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 because I hadnt had time to update my phone in these last months (If that is of any relevence).
Would someone kindly explain whats wrong and how I can fix this?

Here in the UK, when you buy a brand new iPhone from the apple store, its factory unlocked. You can use any sim in it you want. I have used multipul sim cards from different carriers in the phone since I bought it. It works fine with my sim and I will try another and see if that works. I will report back when I have tried

It all depends on the definition of "factory unlocked". If the phone was purchased directly from Apple and the receipt says "Unlocked" then updating or restoring it will leave it unlocked (Apple never uses the term "factory unlocked" as there is no such thing; phones are unlocked at activation time). Similarly, if it had been locked to a carrier and the carrier authorized it to be unlocked, and you went through the unlocking steps they provided, it is permanently unlocked.
Unfortunately, a lot of the phones sold as "factory unlocked" were actually unlocked by hacking in the "factory" in the basement of some shop somewhere. These phones at best will become locked to the original carrier if restored, and in the worst case will be permanently disabled if restored.

Install the latest version of iTunes.

Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. FollowiTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

Do you have an AT&T carrier file number showing? The only time you can use Facetime on AT&T cellular is if you are using one of their Shared Data plans. While they have not locked your phone, it appears their carrier file is in control of your device when you have the AT&T SIM card in there.

This was NOT an update, rather a downgrade... the font size in text messages is now smaller and difficult to read. I have tried changing font size in settings and it does not apply to text messages. The lock/unlock screen pattern now reminds me of drawing a stick figure. My vehicle is now having problems with Bluetooth importation of my phone book--I keep receiving an on screen error message as it tries to continuously reattempt to import...
