Unable to update Illustrator CS5 to v.15.0.1
When going through the Adobe updater, I get this error with no solution offered other than to contact customer support in the Adobe updater results box, "Adobe Illustrator CS5 15.0.1 Update
Installation failed". I am on a Mac using Snow Leopard. Never had upgrade issues before this. Any idea what may be the trouble?
Yup, same here too. Not sure how to fix this. OS 10.6.4 as well. Running it on a 2.33 Ghz Core 2 Duo MacBookPro.

Unable to update Dreamweaver CS5.5 - Update failed
I have recently upgraded to CC but have not installed Dreamweaver CC yet.
However, to organize my Harddrive, I placed all my CS5.5 apps in a subfolder, including Dreamweaver.
Using the Help>Update function, I tried to update using the 11.5.3 version, which failed.
The error message I receive is this:

You might have a corrupted cache and/or personal config folder.
Start by deleting your cache.

I am unable to get the latest update - The message from Creative Cloud is Failed, error UM441I210
When I did a search on the error number the steps it suggested were to Restart (still failed), uninstall and re-install (still failed) and finally to look at the error log which suggested finding the summary and acting on the issues - there wasn't a summary section but there were a number of 'fails' which didn't make any sense to me.
I then went on to: Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
this was a bit confusing; step 2 say to uninstall the application(s); step 3 to run the Cleaner Tool and follow its instructions. However, as I had removed Illustrator in step 2 it wasn't listed in step 3 for me to 'clean' so I had to quit.
Next, I downloaded the base file from: Adobe CC 2014 Direct Download Links: Creative Cloud 2014 Release | ProDesignTools
I installed this and the latest update from: All Adobe CC 2014 Updates: The Direct Download Links for Windows | ProDesignTools
Illustrator installed V 18.0.0 but the update failed. This time it suggested I re-install the Adobe Application Manager which I did. The update I downloaded myself still failed as did using the update from Creative Cloud.
I don't know what else to do. Installing V 18.0.0 is a few steps back from the updates I already had before all this started. I would be grateful for any further ideasI would suggest going to

and jumping through whatever hoops are needed to get to the CHAT capability, then initiating an online chat with an Adobe Support person. You will end up speaking with someone in India, but I've had strange problems such as yours solved several times this way. You need to be patient, as it's not a "quick" process, but it should get you to where you need to go.

Unable to update Illustrator CS3
Adobe Updater tells me my software needs an update so I dutifully let it download what it wants. It starts the installation and then hangs. It gets about 80 - 90 per cent through installing the update for Illustrator (13.0.1) and just sits there. I let it run over night and it was right where I left it the night before. I can quit the update installer without having to Force Quit. Tried to launch Illustrator and it wouldn't launch. Gets to the Open screen and quits. I have to re-install Illustrator. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've tried to update. Same result. Any suggestions? Using on an iMac G5 2.1Ghz, 2.5GB RAM, running Leopard (OS 10.5.8).
Your patch seems to be failing because the ownership of file at following location is not getting set correctly -
/Applications/Adobe Illustrator CS3/Adobe Illustrator.app/Contents/Resources/AMT/application.sif
(ctrl+click over Adobe Illustrator.app and choose Show Package Contents to view files inside the app)
Correcting the group/owner should fix this problem, or simply rename this file to something else say xapplication.sif then manually run the update.

Unable to access Illustrator CS5.1 subscription that I've had for 2 years.
I've been an AI CS5.1 subscriber for 2+ years. I am no longer able to access my files. The windows that pop up are: Activation is required.... and Please connect to the internet and try again. I've talked with my IT folks who reassure me that there is not a firewall issue. This has worked for me up until last week. Has anyone else seen this before? Chat won't help me and neither will phone support as I'm not a CC subscriber.
I'm on deadline, please help!Might also be some WIndows update that ruined it. Try and search with a focus on that.

I am unable to update Photoshop CS5 on my Mac
When trying to run the CS5 update I get the following message:
"AdobePatchinstaller" can't be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.
Can anyone help?Thanks again. Opened Security & Privacy and found a note which allowed me to download anyway. Tried that which opened up the installer and then got a message which was "Update Failed - update could not be applied - The patch is not applicable for you. Please check for updates in your product menu". Which takes me back to where I started from. However, with some changes to my Firewall Settings and going through the CS5 update menu I think it is finally working. So in a roundabout way you have been most helpful.

Illustrator CS5 just won't stay open
I have looked all over the forums and elsewhere to find a solution to this, but so far, I haven't been able to resolve it. I noticed many other people have had this problem, and it was resolved in many ways, but none of those ways worked for me. This is the trial downloaded from adobe.
My info:
Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit
4 gb ram
AMD athlon IIX2 Processor
Both Photoshop and Illustrator load and run very fast on my laptop, so performance really isn't an issue. I've never had this problem with photoshop.
Illustrator cs5 worked fine since last night. After working on a file, I restarted and Illustrator loads and opens, but doesn't stay open. It closes about 3-5 seconds after it opens, so I can only assume it crashed without any error message.
The starting logo never completely loads all of the font list. It usually gets to about 80% and then opens and closes automatically.
So far, i've tried:
uninstalling illustrator and reinstalling it -- did this 3 times
using the cleaning tool to completely remove cs5 and reinstall it
deleting the illustrator profile
temporarily removing the fonts in C:/Windows/Fonts ... some fonts could not be moved due to the fact they were in use/system fonts
updating illustrator CS5 to "fix" the bugs ... it doesn't seem to improve anything

not sure if any of that has to do with why it crashes.
nothing worked. The strange thing is, if I open an .EPS or .AI file with illustrator, illustrator will stay open as long as my mouse is over a context menu. If i'm quick enough, I can open .EPS files in illustrator and then save them as .AI files, but as soon as I close the menu, illustrator quits.
So, this is incredibly fustrating. I have to do a vector project in illustrator and obviously can't ... i've been quite desperate in trying to find other vector programs, but i'd rather not need to learn a new program when I can use one I already have.
Does anyone know how to fix illustrator and keep it open? how do I temporarily remove all the fonts from illustrator? I am assuming that because it never completely loads the font list at startup, its a font issue. But I haven't installed or modified any new fonts lately.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Also, I do not use adobe acrobat, it isn't installed on my computer. I have no issues hovering over the menus in AI -- hovering over the menus and opening them is the only thing that keeps AI open. As soon as I take my mouse off the menu, AI closes.
The only way to keep AI open is to interact with the menus. Any dialog box keeps it open. As soon as you close the menu or dialog, AI closes as well.

Adobe releases update to Illustrator CS5
Illustrator 15.0.1 now available. Fixes a bug with gradient meshes that had messed up my workflow; many thanks:)
Other fixes, according to Adobe:
• Out of memory problems specific to Macs with RAM exceeding 4gb, including failure of shortcut keys, rulers, or file open have been addressed.
• Glyph Panel issues have been addressed.
• Several crashes occurring at launch or quit have been addressed.
• A crash when traversing a variable data set containing linked images has been addressed.

How Win 7 automatic updates corrupts user accounts and crashes Illustrator CS5
A resolution or prevention is needed to prevent reoccurance a of new Illustrator CS5 crash: The crash apparently prevents Illustrator from reading the AGM.dll located in the Support folder when trying to open any file with Illustrator. Profounfly, reinstallation of the entire CS5, nor of just Illustrator 5, nor of just 5.1 does not correct the problem. A new user account has to be created, whcih of course requires copying all user files to the new user account if you do not want to have to log in under a different user account just to use Illustrator. Guten Abend Community, erst einmal bin ich neu hier und leider auch hier, da ich ein Problem habe welches ich einfach nicht gelöst bekomme.
Ich musste mein System kommplett neu Installieren und habe anschließend Adobe Web Premium 5 Installiert was auch ohne Probleme Funktioniert, anschließend habe ich die Updates durcheführt welches auch fast ohne Probleme läuft qalle anderen Updates wurden Installiert bis auf die in der fehlermeldung. was kann ich da machen damit das nicht mehr auftritt ?
PS: Davor ging das auch problemlos, das System habe ich erst vor 3 Tagen neu Aufgesetzt.

Wenn noch fragen offen sind einfach fragen, ich würde gerne das Problem so schnell wie möglich lösen....Ja wie gesagt es hat davor auch ohne Probleme Funktioniert nur war ich gezwungen das System neu zu Installieren und ab dann konnte ich die da oben genannten Updates nicht mehr Installieren. Ein Mac ist zwar eine schöne Sache kommt aber für mich nie in Frage da ich mein PC als Arbeitsrechner und Gamer Rechner nutze und das meiste läuft halt nicht auf einen Mac und man müsste manche Programme neu Kaufen, das sehe ich überhaupt nicht ein, und meine Anwendungen werden aus Prinzipien nicht für Apple Produkte entwickelt da verdient man kaum etwas... aber das muss jeder für sich entscheiden. An eine neue Version habe ich eventuell nächstes Jahr gedacht aber auch nur die CS6 ob man das brauch ist die Frage da CS 5 genau macht was es soll. Das Modell mit der Adobe Cloud hat zwar denn Vorteil das die Programme Aktuell sind aber man muss Monatlich dafür Zahlen und CS5/CS6 oder älter brauch man nur einmal Kaufen. Darüber hinaus finde ich eh das Adobe so eine richtige S*** ist wenn es um Support ältere Programme geht so zeigt Adobe meiner Meinung nach das Ihre Produkte nichts wert sind zumindest macht es den Anschein. Aber wie gesagt, bin ich hier um Hilfe zu bekommen um das Problem zu lösen ohne ein neue Version zu kaufen, das ist ja bekanntlich die einfachste Lösung, aber wenn Informatiker auch so denken würden dann würde es sehr schlecht aussehen... und als Anmerkung am Rande, es wäre ja nett wenn man mir denn Link dieser Updates zukommen lassen könnte um die Updates Manuell zu Installieren.

Dies kann man in voraus natürlich nicht aber in nachhinein geht das und Software Entwickler denn etwas an Ihre Produkte liegt, machen das nachhinein auch und passen gegebenenfalls Ihr Produkt an.
PS: CS 2 läuft ebenfalls auf einem Windows 8.1 rechner ;-) -

Very new and very green to illustrator.
Have used only once or twice since i bought it.
Unfortunately when i need to use it now - it crashes
upon starting up.
I received the following error message:

Haven't a clue what to do!

g1Updates can fail due to any number of system issue. They are more prone to failing if you alter the application in any way. On the Macintosh, popular applications such as Monoligual will remove application package contents and therefore cause updates to fail.
The easiest solution is to uninstall Illustrator CS5 using the uninstaller and then reinstall Illustrator CS5, then immediatlly run the 15.0.1 update. -

What do I do with information? I tried updating several times. None of my Adobe products will update.Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details. And I fail to see what compatibility issues you are trying to fix. Illustrator allows to save to a variety of formats, including older versions of its own AI files...
