UNABLE TO UPDATE: index-lion.snowleopard.leopard.merged-1.sucatalog" can't be found

Try to do a update software - my Java Runtime - aint installed - but get this message: "index-lion.snowleopard.leopard.merged-1.sucatalog"

This morning I had the same issue.
Now, 2 hours later, the problem is solved by just waiting.
So, it was an Apple server issue.

  • Unable to update Mountain Lion since the day I bought it, 2 yrs ago?

Can't update Mountain Lion, or anything else, Error has occurred (102)? Been this was for over a year

I would recommend that you take your Mac to your local Apple Store and get help there. They can provide a hands-on diagnoses of the problem.

  • After updating to Lion (and 10.7.1) I can't use my external CD/DVD writer (samsung SE-S084D).  iTunes says no cd software installed?  What to do?

I recently updated to Lion and now my external CD/DVD player (a samsung SE-S084D) won't work.  I can't burn CDs and iTunes says no cd software is installed.  The drive worked like a top in all flavors of 10.6.  Anyone know what do to?  The drivers for the drive--which I didn't need in 10.6--are all .exe files, so I'm out of luck there.
    Thanks!

No.  The only way I finally got it to work was after about 5 restarts.  I've never seen iTunes flip out like that before.

  • Updated to 10.5.7 and my Printer can't be found

I recently updated my MacPro with a fresh install of OSX from my system disc and subsequently went through the update process to bring it up to 10.5.7. Among other problems, my printer (an Epson RX580) connected over USB can't be found. I reinstalled the printer driver that I was using when everything was working fine and the installation completed successfully. But now I don't see the printer in System Preferences -> Print & FAX.
Anyone have and ideas? Thanks in advance.

Mine used to be there when they weren't powered on. I'd often "print" to them by mistake when I meant to create a PDF, and would have to cancel the job. When I updated to 10.5.7 both disappeared.

  • Advice on updating to Lion (from Leopard)

    Hi everyone,
I have an early 2008 MacBook, version 4,1.
    Specs:
2.4 GhZ Intel Core 2 Duo
    2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    160 GB
I'm currently running Leopard, which means I would have to buy Snow Leopard and then buy Lion through the Mac App Store.
Has anyone else done this and would you advise me to do the same?
    Thanks!

Only if you need to upgrade. If you wish to use iCloud then you will need to upgrade to Lion. If you upgrade to Lion you will need to meet the minimum requirements:
    Lion System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
If you upgrade to Lion I would recommend installing at least 4 GBs of RAM provided it is supported by your model.

  • Unable to update to Lion from 10.6.8

Lion update frpm 10.6.8 not working over wifi - "buy-now" button does not get a response apart frm spinning wheel Tried changing "Location" as suggested in on-line help but no joy. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hmmm, the only thing I've used the app store for is to download Lion, so I'm not real knowledgeable about it. But, sometimes it helps to clear all settings so you can start fresh, so...
First, make sure you're signed out of the app store/iTunes. Depending on which browser you use: Reset Safari (make sure you get history, caches, cookies) or Firefox (Tools in menu > clear history/cache/cookies).
Then go to your Users folder > Library > Preferences and put the following files on your desktop or trash (don't empty yet):
    com.apple.storeagent.plist
(that is the background app that scans your hard drive when you launch the app store)
log out/in and try it again.

  • I'm unable to update to Lion (Needs 2GB) on my iMac.

Do I need a new computer? Or is there a way to remedy this?
I'm sure it means RAM, because I certainly have more than 2GB of hard drive space

Go to macsales.com or crucial.com.  A guide will ask model/year and offer options for memory upgrades.
ifixit.com and macsales.com have installation guides for the memory.

  • Having problems updating from Lion OS 10.6.8 - how can I update?

    Hi All
I bought my 21" iMac in April 2011. I was overseas for a few months and came home and found that there have been several updates to the Lion OS (10.6.8 v1.1; 10.7 10.7.1 and 10.7.2). I have not been able to update any of these starting with the first update 10.6.8 v1.1. The update is downloaded ok but during the installation it fails and I get a 42408 error message.  I also cannot complete other software updates such as safari etc. Again the updates download ok but during the final installation (moving items) before the computer restarts, the installation stops with "unexpected error"
    Any suggestions/help?
    thanks
    matt

Step one is to boot with your install DVD, launch Disk Utility, repair the disk, and then reinstall the OS. It'll leave all of your data and settings in place. Then, try the updates, starting with the 10.6.8 v1.1 COMBO one, which BTW, is Snow Leopard and not Lion.

  • How do you fix the leopard.merged-1.sucatalog err? I can't find anywhere that says how to fix it. I have 5 so far out of 35 computers i take care of.

On Leopard 10.5.8. Not going to snow for awhile.

That error says that it cannot find the file with automatic software updates in it, on the Server you have deliberately set it to (either with Workgroup Manager or by modifying config files using "sudo defaults write" Terminal commands. You have pointed the source somewhere other than the standard Software Update Server provided online at Apple, Inc., and the files are not accessible there using the current settings. Are you using port 8088?

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work.

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode.  Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the grey Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal.
