Unable to update iPhone 5S ans iPad2 to iOS 8.3 with WI-FI and with iTunes
Hi, i have an iPhone 5s and an old iPad 2 and wanted to update them to latest version iOS 8.3 since i have notification to update them and i tried via WIFI directly on the unit and with iTune on my computer and at both place it didnt work and tell me it take too much time for both, and the app store too seem to be slower these last days. Tried at home with a 6mbit connexion and at my office with a 50mbit connexion and have the same issue.
iphonee 5s is on iOS 8.2 and ipad 2 is on iOS 7

For the wi-fi issue, follow the below instructions :-
Navigate to Privacy - Location Services - System Services ( at the bottom ) - WiFi Networking.
By default Wi-Fi Networking will be on .. turn it off.
It worked for me, hope it will work for you too :-).

The error message is talking about storage space in your iPhone not on iCloud which is what you bought.
You are going to have to clean up space on your iPhone by removing files from it. Good candidate for removal are music and photos.

Do you have the correct iOS 5 file downloaded? Go here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750 and make sure you download the correct .ipsw for your iPhone. If your iPhone 4 is on AT&T (or uses a SIM), it is GSM. If it is on Verizon, it is CDMA. You must download 5.1.1. at this time.
Once that is downloaded, save it to your desktop. Open iTunes with your device connected. Go to the device menu and find Restore. Hold down ALT while clicking Restore, and choose the correct file (the one you just downloaded). Back up your phone first if you don't want to lose data.
If you have any more trouble, report back here with an error code (if possible), or simply a screenshot of the error message. -
Unable to update payment information to complete iCloud storage renewal, tried over 4 times and different cards
I had the same issue, Sent Email offering £7.99 for 25 GB. Then sent me an Email at 2.52AM saying I needed to update my payment method although they had just refunded to it. Then 7 hours later, I had tried to before work at 7AM and thought, "as it won't let me do that on my iphone, I'll do it at lunch." Sadly at 9:56 am UK time, They reduced my storage.
Having Wasted an hour on the phone tonight, they first tried to explain that £7.99 is More than £0.79 times 12. Doh!
That was followed with lots of being on hold and then being told "We can't go back, We Can't make a refund. We agree it was short notice and that we didn't do it well, there are lots of issues about this and also that we never offered you that (till the saw the email)" So no better off and now having to pay more for same service. That's pretty poor service all around. I have to upgrade as All my files, Backups and Emails are inoperative Till I do so.
That's pretty bad for a company of this size, Guess they need some more bad press at the moment. -

Delete the app then reinstall.
Hold the app icon down until all the apps jiggle then tap the x then tap Delete. Press the Home button once or twice to stop the jiggling.
Then go to the iTunes store and re download the app.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
That should download the most recent version including whatever update was available.
You won't be charged again. -

I have uninstalled iTunes following the recommended order and reinstalled numerous times but still freezes when I connect my iPhone. It works fine when I connect my phone to another pc (Windows 7). What else can I try?
Whenever I update iTunes it gives me the following error:
The application was unable to start correctly (0cx0000142). Click Ok to close the application.
The file in error is DifXInst64.exe.

So tonight I updated my 4s over 3g to ios 7.1 it took forever and said connect to itunes. It said it was in recovery mode & needed to be restored but would wipe all content. I have never made a backup because my computers hard drive crashed (luckily the pics were on the phone) and now after updating like apple said I should it wants me to wipe my phone... I can't loose pics of my kids births and birthdays... I tried the holding buttons and letting off to exit recovery mode with no success... I don't know what to do but I swear if apple makes me loose the priceless pics of my kids I will never buy any apple device ever again... and I will make sure no family or friend ever does either... there has to be a way somehow.. some data recovery some program... I dunno if tinyumbrella can exit it for me without hacking or jailbreaking (which I don't dare/want to do) but i need a solution. I have researched this for hours and hours with no solution so far. If I have to pay $$ for it fine I will but after I recover my data that way I will be going to samsung... anyone with a solution would be greatly appreciated... any solution...
that makes no sense... it was only doing an update... if that's the case it should have promted me to back up first if this is even possible... there is a program that says it can recovery anything that hasn't been written over yet.. so would this not work? http://www.iphone-data-recovery.com/iphone-data-recovery.html or would the apple store be able to recover it??? i've done plenty of data recovery on computers... why wouldn't it be possible on an Iphone... does apple seriously not care about thier customers at all??? how about thier employees that are gonna get more than an earful tomorrow when I walk in there store??? If your Bluetooth is working, you may be able to tether your phone to another device, and backup that way. Either via iCloud or one of many Apps that send yourself a VCF file containing your contacts.
You may have to update to a later IOS via USB and iTunes, not sure if IOS 6 has Bluetooth Tethering.
I would have thought you could also switch off cloud sync'ing for your contacts, this should ask a question if you want to keep the contacts on your phone. An iTunes Backup and then Restore to your new iPhone should restore the local contacts. Then sync these back to the iCloud.

I'm signed up to the Cloud and itunes match - the whole game. But I cam getting annoyed with having to delete songs one by one on my iPhone once dowloaded from the cloud as I only have a 16GB phone....yes I listen to music non-stop! So, I am thinking about getting an iPAD as I rarely use my MacBook Pro for anything other than surfing and music now... so the question is: "On an iPad with iTunes, do you know if you can edit/delete all your tunes on your device with a "clear all" button rather than having to delete a song one by one like you have to do on an iPhone (if not synching via a MacBook/ PC with iTunes account where I know you can clear down and refill with ease)????

Apple is no longer supporting YouTube with a native application starting with iOS 6.0. The "old" YouTube application was automatically removed when you upgraded, and it no longer exists in the new iOS. There are however, numerous third-party apps in the App Store which will allow you to view YouTube, including one from Google, which is the parent company for YouTube. Passbook is a new application to iOS 6.0 and is not at all related to YouTube.
