Unable to update iPhoto after doing the new OS X Mavericks update.
I just did the new update, OS X Mavericks. Everything works except for my iPhoto. It says I can not use this application "iphoto" with this type of mac. I have iPhoto 9.3.2. When i go to update iPhoto it says "update unavailable with this apple id." I've had the same apple id, haven't changed anything since day 1.. help!
Sign out of the App Store and then sign back in and try to download iPhoto 9.5.1. It should be a free download.

Do i have to reinstall photoshop, after install the new os x mavericks?
I'm currently using Mountain Lion. If I upgrade to the new Mavericks, do I have to reinstall programs like Adobe softwares and Microsoft Offices? Cause I'm currenly using a lot of software on my MacBook, like Photoshop and SketchUp. It will be a hassle if I have reinstall all these software again.

I see no need to deactivate Adobe apps before upgrading ML -> Mavericks, then reactivate. I don't seem to have any trouble running either Acrobat Pro 10 or Photoshop Cs 5.1 in Mavericks after the upgrade-- without the deactivate/reactivate steps.
Am I failing to understand something? -

Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

Updating your iPhone may remove the apps if something goes wrong. You should create a backup before your update just to be sure that you can restore everything in case anything gets erased.
Also, you can sync your apps from iTunes on your computer or re-download the apps if they do get erased for some reason -

I updated my computer to the new software and now the iPhoto has a circle with a line through it. When I first try to open it the pop us says: "You can't use this version of the application "iPhoto" with this version of OS X. Version: 9.2.1" When I try to update, it pops up to say "These apps cannot be accepted by your apple id - These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID and they will be available in that Apple ID's purchases list. If you don't have access to that Apple ID and want to receive future updates, you will need to purchase the application". I checked and there is nothing under the "purchases" in my App store. Then will say "update unavailable with this apple id - This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or canceled." Then the third pop up says "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again". Just want to know how do to fix.
After I upgraded to Mavericks I was also having this message when I tried to update. There was a previous post about this problem which offered this simple solution which worked for me:

Got it! Thanx. What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed. -

If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:

Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

cannot re enable the add ons after the new 13.0.1 update ,it shows no update available and all the add-ons are disabled
I have the same problem. One minute everything was okay, the next minute all my addons were disabled.

I can reenable them but FF will disable them on the next startup. I uninstalled version 13 and installed version 12. Problem gone! So I'm still using version 12 and am afraid to update to version 13.
This problem began when I was trying to research and fix a problem (no history all-of-a-sudden) so it probably was something I caused. Can't recall everything I did though.
So: Does the addon problem I described have a solution? If so, I'll update my version 12 to version 13. Please respond..... -
My notes have completely disappeared after updating my phone to the new update.
The same thing happened to me and I was able to get all my notes back onto my phone. This is easy if you are on a Mac, and if you have a MobileMe subscription. This probably does not work if you do not have a MobileMe subscription. It may work on iCloud, but I have not set this up yet.
Open Mail. In tthe sidebar on the left hand you should see several entries like Mailboxes and Reminders. Expand Reminders and you should see a couple of tabs. Notes and To Do. Expand Notes. Now you will see a couple more tabs. On My Mac, and something like [email protected] (xxx will be your login name for MobileMe)
You should see all your notes in the On My Mac. If they are there, all you need to do is drag them over from the On My Mac folder to the [email protected] folder, and they will sync over to your phone. Instead of dragiing you can also right click on one or more notes and then choose Move To.

Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method. -
