Unable to update Itunes,Itunes 64.MSI problems

Iam unable to update Itunes, I get a message that I need to install I tunes 64.msi how can do that

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component won't install normally.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Since there is no "Software Update", you are not yet up to iOS 5.  That is where that feature was introduced.
So your only choice is to use iTunes to update your software.

  • Unable to update to iTunes 11.4 on Windows pc

I have run iTunes on various Windows platforms for a number of years (for my iPod and iPad). Almost 2 years ago I bought a HP Pavilion Series 6 pc which ran on Windows 8 with no problems with iTunes about 2 months ago I received an update to iTunes 11.4 when I tried to update this I got the error message below
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again or enter a alternative path to a folder containing the installation package "iTunes64.msi " in the box below"
I searched for this and found nothing. So I decided not to update but after a while when using iTunes and wanting to burn to disc I got a message that iTunes could not find burner or software. I phoned Apple support ( ref 669197161) the suggestion I got was to uninstall/reinstall but when I tried this I just got the same error message and could not uninstall.
I have used the Windows Support Community and they just advised me to uninstall/reinstall but as I say I cannot.
I have since updated to Windows 8.1 but have the same error. The Windows Support Community suggest I used the iTunes for Windows Support hence this note.
ITunes that I have on my pc is running ok except I cannot burn to disc.
    Any suggestions ?

  • Unable to update to iTunes 11.1 nor iOS 7

I have been trying to update to iOS 7 for hours. I finally decide to update through iTunes however,I need to update my iTunes. I first get a mesage telling me to download through tools and click "Download only" After I click that I'm told the downlaod had an "Invalid Signature" Now my iTunes freezes when I try to open it

Thanks for the quick and useful reply Randers.
It will be good if (hopefully when) the functionality is returned to iTunes/iOS, but installing server is useful in the multitude of options that it opes up, so I followed your advice. I have my contacts syncing perfectly, but there is a problem with the calendar, so perhaps you can help please?
My working account is a standard user account, so I have had to use my admin account to set up the CardDAV and CalDaV servers. The problem is that the new calendar is blank. I'm probably missing something obvious, but how can I 'link' it to my calendars under my user account? There is no 'drag and drop' as there is for the contacts. If I try to set up a CalDAV service for my standard user account I get the error that the user cannot be verified.
Do you have any suggestions please?
    Thanks,
    James

  • Fed up trying to update itunes (missing bonjour.msi problem)

With iOS5, is itunes even necessary? My phone updates by itself now. I'm guessing my iPad will too? Can I just delete itunes from my Win7 computer?

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • HT1926 I am unable to update my Itunes version 10 to version 11 ,error message "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"

Why can't I update my current version of iTunes 10 to version 11, keep getting error message "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is un available"

    mine says itunes.msi
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Unable to update/install iTunes on XP

All I wanted to do was upload songs to my iPod. However, no matter what I did, iTunes refused to recognize that my iPod was plugged in. Stumped, I noticed I was running an older version of iTunes and tried to update it.
Upon trying to update iTunes, it completely deleted itself from my computer without a trace to be found. Everytime I try to redownload iTunes from apple.com, it appears to successfully install but at the last minute, completely removes itself. There is NO message telling me the installing was unsuccessful. It acts and looks as if the installation went completely fine. I watched it download to my desktop, saw the iTunes folder appear and then inexplicably delete. Not in the recycling bin; no where to be found.

  • I am unable to update my itunes. It keeps saying F: drive is unavailable. I have never had and F: drive and cannot change this.

I have tried to uninstall itunes to re:install and get the same problem.
I have also tried removing all apple software and when I get to remove itunes I get a message saying that the itunes minibar (toolbar) is not a valid resource.
This is begging to drive me mad as I have not synced my iphone or ipad for several months.

  • Unable to update iPhone, itunes is opening a browser window looking for ipsw file

I ran the itunes diagnostics and itunes didn't have any issues getting to the server, etc.  Uninstall and reinstalled didn't work. Machines is a Dell with Windows 7.
    Thoughts?

I fired up my G5 MacPro and was able to update the phone, I was also then able to determine the download location for iTunes iPhone updates which is
    ~/Library/iTunes
When I saw that I also noted that the permissions on that directory was Read/Write for System only, I added Read/Write permissions for Staff and then the download was able to happen.
Apple needs to amend the Repair Permissions programme in Disk Utility to ensure that the above directory ( ~/Library/iTunes ) is Read/Write for Staff or users won't be able to carry out iPhone updates.
I haven't had a chance to try the new printing features, however, my Bluetooth headset performance is dramatically improved with the iOS 4.2.1 update.
