Unable to update Lightroom 5.2 for WIN 7 - PC

I recently bought Lightroom 5.2 (build 922700) and installed it on my Win 7 PC.
Each time I use it I get the message saying New software for Lightroom is available.
When I go to the site Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.5 the only option seems to be to download the new program, which I do, but then it says there is an application error. It happens on both the laptop and desktop.
Not sure what the problem is???

You only can update those Apps, if you know the Passwords from the AppleIDs, which were used for purchase.
If you´re unable to enter these Passwords you can´t update them.
You can delete those Apps from your device and purchase & download them again with your own known AppleID.
There is no other Way to get them updated. Because you are not the owner of those Apps.

Creative Cloud Application Manager error/unable to update Lightroom

I am currently on a Mac and my Adobe Creative Cloud Application Manager (AAM) is having some issues.
I ran the update this morning when I heard that camera raw had been updated. The updated completely successfully for camera raw.
AAM is showing that my current version of Lightroom is 4.4. When launching the Lightroom application it is still showing that it is 4.3 and that the update for 4.4 is available. I checked the application manager in OSX and it shows that the current version is indeed still 4.3.
Since I am using creative cloud and not stand alone products, I thought that the AAM would update my programs and why is the AAM not updating my Lightroom from 4.3 to 4.4. Is it because camera raw updated and it is erroneously reporting that Lightroom has been updated?
I have never used a beta or RC version of lightroom on this computer, only final products and updates that have been provided with creative cloud.
Is Lightroom a program that you have to manually update outside of creative cloud application manager? That doesn't make sense to me since it is one of the programs included with the subscription and was installed with the application manager.
My hopes are that I'm not the only one having this issue and by posting this Adobe becomes aware of this.

To clarify for the community and to make sure I understand you (Adobe Staffer) correctly you are saying right now the current fix action (update path) is for us to update the same way we were if this was a stand alone lightroom install outside of creative cloud and seperate from the Adobe Application Manager. Which is downloading the 427MB file from the Adobe website and installing/updating?
I just want to verify before I do this and it causes future conflicts with my subscription and future updates.

FIX: Unable to update/change credit card for iCloud Storage

You may get an email from Apple that says that they are having a problem processing your credit card for iCloud Storage. The email then goes on to give you three instructions to fix this by tapping on SETTINGS -> iCLOUD then tapping on "Account" and then following on-screen instructions.
If (like me) you see that your card is OK but you are still getting the email and you cannot edit the payment details, this is what you do.
Turn off Family Sharing.
Once this is done, you will then see that the old card details are really what is trying to be used, and you can then update your payment option. This is not known about in front line support and it was only a high ranking tech support person in iTunes support who mentioned this in passing as a possible cure. Share it please as failing to get your payment option correct can result in losing your iCloud Storage Plan and placing you back at basic free levels.

Unable to update Lightroom 2.0 to 2.2

I am using Mac OS X vs. 10.5.6 and have Lightroom 2.0 installed. I downloaded vs. 2.2 from Adobe and clicked through the installation process until it told me that the installation is complete. The icon on the desktop depicts the Lr in a gray square with a disk over it. Clicking on it just takes me through the installation process again and Lightroom 2.0 has not been updated. How can I fix it?

Did you check in your Application folder to see what is there? Usually a new version of LR is added in rather than "updating" your existing LR. I rename each LR with the version number after it is installed. I have many versions of LR available (betas and the various upgrades) and can run different ones if I choose. In your Applications folder you can check info (Cmd I) on the various ones you have to see which is which if you need to. Once you launch LR, click on the icon in the dock so you can tell the dock to keep the correct version in the dock. Then you can remove the older version from the dock, but it stays in the Application folder if you need it. That's why you rename them to keep them straight.

Unable to update blank Konsole prompt for users

When I launch Konsole as a user I get a blank prompt: sh-3.1$
When I launch Konsole as root I get: [root@host directory]#
I have searched Google and the forums and found Konsole reads .bashrc in the users /home directory for the prompt commands, etc. I have edited .bashrc and it does not change. If I execute: source .bashrc I get the prompt I want, any ideas? I have tried both .bashrc and .bash_profile.
KDE 3.5.2 and all the updates via pacman.

You can try starting konsole as a login shell: either start konsole via
konsole --ls
or change the konsole session to start
/bin/bash --login
instead of
/bin/bash
Otherwise, you can try to use some environment variables in the global and local bash startup scripts to try to figure out which file is getting loaded and in what order. Your ~/.bashrc might be being read but the settings over-ridden by some subsequent startup script.

Also, we are updating out OS today. Can I still install Lightroom on this new OS (since it's technically a different PC) ? Don't want to have to purchase it all over again.

All you need to do is run the installer and years the serial number that you already have. Try the installation after you have installed the new OS and see how things go.

Having downloaded the new adobe content viewer 2.3.1 through itunes and installed it onto my ipad. I now find I cannot update the desktop version this still remains at 2.3.0
anyone any advise how to get the most current version onto my laptop.

unable to update new carrier setting for iPhone 3G, it says error occurred (0xE8000001)

I am having the same problem.
Bought iPhone 3G on Vodafone AU.
Paid Voda to unlock it.
When I plug in to itunes I get a 'your carrier settings can now be updated would you like to proceed' sort of message. The first time I connect it then says 'Carrier Settings Updated' Yet i get no signal.
NEXT TIME I sync, it tries again, and then i get the same error as listed in this post.
I've tried this on TWO PC's (in every port!) and on a MacBook Pro (both USB ports).
I initially thought maybe Vodafone were just being slack in unlocking the phone, but have since found out that APPLE do the unlocking at their end and have basically put my IMEI number on their 'white list', so every time I sync it checks with Apple and lets me have a different version of software that unlocks the phone.
It's very frustrating, because the restore process takes about 15 mins, so I keep just trying random different things, but no one has any firm instructions.
Can I please confirm this is what I am meant to be doing.
1. Swap SIM to NEW sim.
2. Plug in to iTunes.
3. Carrier settings will then update.
4. RESTORE iPhone 3G.
5. SHOULD BE ALL OK... but after restore it will say 'please insert a compatible SIM that is unlocked. (ie, put the vodafone SIM back in!)
Am I missing something obvious? or is this an Apple issue.

Can't update apps - Incorrect program for iPad

Has anyone run across a problem with trying to update applications on the iPad 2 where it gives an error message "Unable to update. Incorrect program for iPad"? This has just started happening but I've no idea why. I tried downloading the latest software update but it is still giving me this error message. I would appreciate any assistance or ideas someone may have. Thanks.

I have the same, it is id related, and only for already installed / to be upgraded apps !
Ipad 1 and 2: first id, can only download new apps, not previously installed apps.
Ipad 1 and 2 : other id, can download and upgrade.
This annoys me to dead ! Apple, go and fix this !

Unable to update Camera Raw 6.7 for PS CS5

After updating my OS to Windows 8.1, and reinstalling Photoshop CS5 and updates to version 12.0.4, I have been unable to complete the Photoshop Camera Raw 6.7 Update. All other updates to PS and Bridge installed correctly.
The update file downloads completely from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html, but immediately fails with the following screen:
"Some updates failed to install."
"The following updates were unable to install. If you wish to install these updates, please fix the problems below and retry:
Photoshop Camera Raw 6.7 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later."
Is there a known workaround for this problem?

Please provide me with a snapshot from Ps->Help->Update->Preferences.
Please confirm your ACR version from Help->About Plugin->Camera Raw and provide us with the following logs.

Update from lightroom 5.0 (win 8.1, 64 bit) to 5.5 failed with following messages:

installing Lightroom 5.0 64 bit (win 8.1)from CD, registration failed (WLAN problems)
programm could be started with the icon on the desktop.
Popup adviced update to 5.5
update process was started. update failed just before end.
Removing update folder from desktop
Removing lightroom 5.0 with windows deinstaller
New installation of lightroom 5.0 from CD, runs well, registration ok
update to 5.5 failed (error message see above)

this seems to be a generic corrupted registry error causing deinstallation of many programs to fail. While i am not sure how often it occures, it did occure to me albeit witg different lightroom versions.
For me, this microsoft repair utility worked rather nice:

Has somebody set the database ready for archiving, maybe some maxl has been run and the db has not been returned from read only mode.
Try running the following Maxl (change app.db to match your app/db)
alter database app.db end archive;

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered
