Unable to upgrade to itunes 10.7 for Windows (64-bit)

I just got two Iphones 4s.  I need to upgrade my computer to itunes 10.7, but everytime I try I get this error message.
What am I doing wrong?  And what needs to be done to correct this problem.
I am using Windows Vista.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get aCode 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Entry point not found - iTunes 10.7 for Windows (64-bit) reinstall

After ignoring iTunes update prompts for about 2 years, I recently tried updating to the latest version (12.1) without success.  After searching for solutions to this problem online, I decided to uninstall iTunes and try reverting back to iTunes 10.7 for Windows 64-bit (on my Windows Vista laptop).
At this point I have installed, repaired, uninstalled, reinstalled, and repaired the 10.7 version and am still unable to access iTunes.  When I try to launch iTunes, I get the following error messages:
"iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point CMTimeRangeMakeFromDictionary could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreMedia.dll."
When I click OK, I then get:
"iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.
    Error 7 (Windows error 127)"
(As I stated above, reinstalling hasn't worked!)
In my online troubleshooting searches, I've found posts regarding entry point issues but none with "CMTimeRangeMakeFromDictionary" or "CoreMedia.dll" in them.  I'm unsure what to do next (should I attempt iTunes 12.1 again?), and my biggest concern is that I will somehow lose all my music.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you

Entry point errors can often be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of. CoreMedia.dll is part of Apple Application Support.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

  • ITunes 11.2 for Windows (64-bit) hangs when opened

    Hi
I recently updated to iTunes 11.2 for Windows (64-bit) on both my PC & laptop which both run Windows 7 and are apart from this problem with Itunes are very stable.
After installing the updates, each time I try to launch Itunes the program will open to show the main window but then I get the following:
I cannot make any of the functions respond (via mouse or tabbing)
The "timer circle" (Same as Apples "egg timer I guess) just runs & runs.
Eventually after say 20 mins, I get the standard Windows message about Itunes has stopped.
I then have to exit via this message window, whcih closes the Itunes program down.
I cannot find any conflicts with spyware etc and all other programs etc are running as normal, any ideas if this is a bug in iTunes 11.2 for Windows (64-bit)? Or is there something else I can try?
I have tried completely uninstalling & reinstalling the software, but that failed too (and I do not know whow to find a previous release of Itunes to try again!)
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  • ITunes 10.7 for Windows (64-bit)

I'm using iTunes 6.3.25 for Windows (64-bit). When I checked in Help<Check for Updates, iTunes doesn't show 10.7 update. Even Apple Software Update doesn't show any update. In case, I download version 10.7 from Apple support site, would it affect my music libraries? Would this move repalce 6.3 with 10.7 or 10.7 run along 6.3?

With that one, I'd try updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file, downloaded from the Apple Website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Under normal circumstances, updating using an installer file like that doesn't touch your content. (That being said, It's still always a good idea to maintain a current backup in case of disasters.)

  • ITunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) did not fix choppy playback

After reading all the other posts I tried installing the (64 bit for older video cards) and it did not solve my choppy playback with Music or Movies.  I am running windows 8.1, Intel i7-4500U CPU @ 1.8GHz, 8 GB RAM, 64-bit OS, x64 based processor, DELL Inspirion 15.  Never had problems until upgrading to 8.1 from 8.0.

Did you see if changing the Play Audio Using select in Edit > Preferences > Playback to "Direct Sound" resolves the issue?  Otherwise you may want to consider rolling back to 12.0 and waiting until a future release is shown to resolve the playback issues in 12.1.  See Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for steps needed to completely remove all installed iTunes components, and for links to the 12.0 installers.

  • ITunes 11.1 for Windows 64 bit not downloading, says a problem occurred with the installer.

iTunes starts to download and the pop-up asking to allow Apple Inc. to make changes to the hardrive comes up but the installer then says "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Errors occured during installation. Your system has not been modified. Please run the installer again, or click Finish to exit."
I have tried using different web browsers to install it, all with the same error message. Anyone know how to fix this please?

I've updated and restarted my computer and iTunes has now successfully installed.

If you still have trouble you might consider installing the alternate version iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards) where you can download a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of iTunes that works with older video cards. This version may also be useful for anyone who is unable to get the 64-bit version of Apple Application Support to install when using the itunes6464setup file, or has trouble with playback of certain video files despite having QuickTime installed.

I am trying to download the latest version of iTunes (11.1)  for Windows XP.  When I click on download from the Apple iTunes Support site (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ), no file is downloaded from Apple.  What gives?  And yes, I did check the Downloads area as well as running a file search on the system so please do not ask.
Also, in browser debug mode, it gives me the URL https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunesSetup.exe but there is no file available.

  • Can't burn cd's with itunes 8.1 for Windows

I get the error message "disc burner or software not found" when I try to burn a CD after upgrading to itunes 8.1 for Windows

I think your problems relate to another discusson in this forum, cd drivers keep disappearing, have you checked in Device Manager whether your CD ROM drives are still there? There appears to be a problem when itunes installs on "some computers" it makes your cd drivers disappear, the only way to bring them back is to go into your registry and delete the upper and lower filters (you'll have to find this online but it isnt complicated if you follow the instructions) this then brings your cd drivers back but itunes then wont burn cds because it needs the upper and lower filters. Maybe some computer manufacturers delete the upper and lower filters before they sell the computers so you are unaware that these filters have been deleted.
I have this problem, I have two computers a 64bit and 32bit, both with identical cd burners, both with vista, same processor Q6600 but different motherboards. My 32bit has had the upper and lower filters deleted because it appeared to be the only way I could get my cd drivers back. I then tried to burn from itunes and it told me the upper and lower filters were needed. So I am stuck, I cant use itunes on this computer. But I use Audible.co.uk for burning audio stories, this company says that it is in partnership with itunes and they use the same software????? I have no problems at all with Audible.
On my 64bit I can install itunes, it works perfectly, I have never had a problem with cd drivers disappearing so never deleted the upper and lower filters, but when I install Audible software it tells me I have a DLL missing and it causes and error. I dont have Nero installed on the 64bit because I think its a bit of a con, vista quite happily burns the cds for me without problems.
On my 32bit I have installed Nero as it burns Audible for me. I have tried to uninstall it but it comes up with a few errors so have left it installed for the moment.
There are some good ideas ie. on start up change the booting order, because when the computer boots it goes straight to cd, that might help but not sure how to do it. Also open the computer up, unplug the cd r and reconnect when you lose your drivers, instead of deleting the filters. But I presume thats too late for me.
But does anyone know if you can get your upper and lower filters back??? without those i presume itunes will never work. Maybe itunes based their software on these filters and are unable to change it so we are stuck. Is it the cd driver software? they arent answerable are they!. It would be nice if Apple could say if they have looked into this and what the state of play is, and if there is anything we can do.
I know this is an ongoing problem and very frustrating for everyone affected but I just like the rest of you want to sort it out...... once and for all.

  • I'm unable to access the Itunes Store from my Windows 8?

I recently recieved a new laptop, operating on Windows 8.  {Note: This is my first Windows computer, I transferred over from Mac}.  I decided to open up a new Apple ID to get away from my parent's account, so that was all set up pretty easily.
Now, however, i find that I can't access the Itunes store from the Itunes application.
    A message, I'm unable to find it now, it no longer appears, instead I get a blank screen instead of the store, read something similar to "not being able to open itunes store, please check your cookies and account details. {sorry if that's too vague, but it definitly had to do with my cookie settings making it unable to open.}
I'm at a loss at what to do next.  My account is perfectly set up, but where and how to adjust the cookies so that the itunes store can open?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

After spending another two days on pinning down the iTunes 10.5 blank store page problem, here's the solution to be found: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3372617?start=0&tstart=0
    Look out for "japiohelp".
    In short:
    a) press Windows key + "R", enter "cmd", and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter (= runs as admin)
    b) enter "netsh winsock reset" and pres enter
    c) reboot the computer
    and Bob's your uncle.
