Unable to upgrade Windows 8 Pro to 10 Enterprise

I downloaded, extracted, and ran the setup for Windows 10 enterprise. Microsoft's site says no key is required but it will not let me hit next without entering a key. I tried PBHCJ-Q2NYD-2PX34-T2TD6-233PK however it says "We couldn't verify the product
key. Please check your installation media"
Am I not able to upgrade from 8 Pro to 10 Enterprise, or is there a step I am skipping?

That's most likely your issue - Microsoft (usually) only supports upgrading to a newer OS as long as it's the same edition.  That means that upgrading to Win 10 Enterprise would require Win 8 Enterprise. You'll want to download the consumer edition
- available
here.
Or - you'll need to upgrade your edition of Windows 8 to Enterprise, then try upgrading to Win 10 Enterprise again.
Hope that helps!

    Hi,
Glad to see your problem resolved, for your program uninstall problem, here are some statements about Windows 8.1 upgrade.
Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 come with some new built-in apps, and it will update or replace some of your existing built-in apps. Your existing Windows Store apps don't come with you, but once the update is complete, you can reinstall all of these
apps at once—or just the ones you want.

We've got a dell dimension 4600, 3Ghz, 1.5G ram, ie11. I just upgraded it to windows 7 pro sp1 32bit. It was a clean install from windows xp.  All updates seemed to install with no problems. Will have to do further check.  It activated without
any problem. I then tried to validate. The validation site downloaded a program which wasn't able to complete and gave the error code 0x80072EE2(0).
    Help appreciated.

    Hi,
I'm a bit confused with your description about " I then tried to validate. The validation site downloaded a program which wasn't able to complete and gave the error code 0x80072EE2(0)."
Would you provide more information about this? It would be better take a screenshot for this phenomenon.

  • Unable to install windows 8 Pro (64bit) on R61, 7755jm1

I have an old thinkpad, the R61 series, model 7755JM1.
And I tried to install windows 8 pro (64bit) on it, hoping to have a taste of the new OS's touch features through remote control on my tablet.
However, the installation has never been successful.
I was able to finish the installation process. Yet whenever it starts to "setup my device", it was never able to finish, and it usually stopped at 65% or 84%.
then my thinkpad would restart on its own, and threw an error message telling me my computer is restarted unexpectedly and the installation is not succeful, also suggesting me try to install again.
This is very frustrating. I have checked on intel's website and other online sites that my CPU (core 2 dual process T8100) supports intel64, and execute disable bit (in my BIOS I think it is by name of "execution prevention"), and sse2, sse3.
In my BIOS, I enabled execution prevention, set SATA mode to "AHCI", and enabled "extended memory test". I format the partition every time I tried to install.
I have installed windows 7 pro on my thinkpad before, and it was just fine.
Do anybody have any idea what is going and how should I solve this?
    Many thanks.
    Lee.

    Hello,
According to the Lenovo, the specs for your R61 (MT: 7755-JM1) as it shipped are as follows:
    T8100(2.1GHz), 1GB RAM, 160GB 5400rpm HD, 14.1in 1400x900 , 128MB nVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ether, UltraNav, Sec Chip, FPR, Camera, 4c Li-Ion, WinVista Home Basic 32.
As you pointed out, the T8100 is a 64-bit CPU, so there should be no problems with that.  I did notice that the unit originally shipped with 1GB of RAM, though.
From looking at Microsoft's Windows 8 System Requirements page, I see that 2GB of RAM are required for the 64-bit edition of Microsoft Windows 8, so if your R61 only has the original 1GB of RAM in it, it will need to be upgraded..
The R61 officially supports 4GB of RAM in the form of two 1GB PC2-6400 800MHz DDR SO-DIMM modules, and apparently can unofficially be upgraded to 8GB using two 4GB modules with the same characteristics.
If you already have 2GB (or more) of RAM installed, the other suggestion off the top of my head is to make sure you have the latest version of the BIOS firmware installed:
    Name:  BIOS Update Bootable CD for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP, 2000 - ThinkPad R61, R61i 14.1 inch widescreen with IEEE 1394, ThinkPad T61, T61p

    Version:  2.30-1.08

If the issue still occurs, please let us know and we can try and help you troubleshoot it further.

  • How to upgrade Windows 8 pro OEM to 8.1 pro for a home PC builder

Built a PC. bought Windows 8 Pro OEM and installed.  don't need retail as I have never needed support before.  Tried to upgrade to 8.1 but my licence is OEM (I have a COA), but it will not update through store.  Advised that 'volume licences'
must consult system administrator.  As I have agreed to the home PC builder agreement, then I am the administrator.  Check through Microsoft and for Volume licences you can down load 8.1 upgrade from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center
(VLSC), but I have a single OEM licence so cannot access that route.
Can I ask if there is a way to upgrade to 8.1 or do I have to buy windows 8.1 OEM and install that.

COA Sticker says 'Windows 8 pro for oem software' then the product key

  • Problem facing after upgrade windows 8 pro 64 bit

I was using Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit, recently I have upgraded it with 8.1. After upgrade my Tally gets hanged while exiting with my live account. Tally was working fine with same live account in Windows 8. I have spoke to Tally technical staff, they have
suggested me to try with another account. So, I have created local account and tried, and it worked fine. So, I thought it might be possible that it is due to old user files, so I have removed the live account and recreated it, and tried the same, but the
problem is same. So, as of now I have removed the live account and working with local account and its working fine. Another problem without live account is I am not able to download any app from store. One thing I have noticed that my live account's user directory
is still existing in user folder even I have removed the account with no backup option. So is it possible to flushed all the old and new files lying with my live account? or any other solution?

    Hi,
Does your notebook have switchable graphics that worked i Windows 7?
The AMD graphics driver provides the audio while using an HDMI output.
You will need to install the AMD graphics driver in Windows 7 compatibility mode to resolve this.
The instructions on how to install Windows 7 drivers in compatibility mode are here.

  • Unable to install Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64

    Hi guys,
I have a Dell all in one 2310 and Dell had came out to replace the HDD as it was faulty, now when I try to install Windows 7 Pro SP1 onto the unit it comes up with "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting
to this disk. Ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.
I have checked in the BIOS and the settings seem ok as in the SATA drives are enabled and on AHCI..
When using diskpart to list the volumes it also cannot see the drive,
    HELP!!

As Rick Dee says, the issue is with the hardware and not related to Windows. Moreover, SATA is in AHCI mode, so more information is needed. It's better to contact Dell technical support, as said by Rick Dee, so that it'll be solved as soon as possible.
The new hard drive may also be replaced, if the situation worsens. Additionally, if the PC is under warranty, Dell technician will assist you in installation of Windows.

  • Unable to install Windows 7 pro after restart by Boot Camp Assistant

    Hello,
I have an issue with installing windows 7 pro 64bit on my MBP 13" mid 2009.
    It has 500GB Samsung HDD.
I tried to install windows 7 on a boot camp partition with boot Camp assistant and also during the process, I
downloaded the driver helpers from apple website and burned it on dvd. after system restart, It starts to load windows
files and then asks me to give it the cd of drivers [ right after I select the country and language in the start of the setup ]
I tried to select the files of the cd [ which I burned by the boot camp assistant ] but it just keeps telling me there is
NO suitable driver matches my mac.
I have downloaded the genuine windows 7 and burned it on dvd.
Also I have Lion, Boot Camp 4.0.1
Can someone please help on this issue?
    Many thanks,

The partition table needs to be repaired.
That is why the guide asks to backup before you begin.
Try Lion Recovery and check health of all the partitions.
Sometimes repairing or try shrink and expand the partition.
But it is not uncommon for what happened to you to render the drive with smaller HFS and then require erase the drive in some cases and restore.
    Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.2
    Cloning as a Backup Strategy
CCC is now able to also clone Lion's Recovery Partition as well.
Check partition table health in Lion's Disk Utility

  • Unable to install Windows XP Pro into Parallels

When I try to open a new VM and install windows XP Pro using my install CD, I understand to click on the right arrow to start the VM. However, when I do that, rather than read the CD and install the software, it makes me (requires) reboot the iMac. I'm a new user of iMac so there may be something I'm not doing. Maybe something in the setup of the VM.
When I reboot, I have to start all over with a new VM and the same thing happens. I have software related to Diabetes control which I must use (keeps track of glucose levels) and need to run this stuff.
    Can anyone help???
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I had the same problem - although the Parallels auto update may tell you that your copy is up-to-date, you still need to go to their site & download "Build 1884". Once that's done also make sure before starting the VM that the boot sequence is set to begin with CD before you install Windows. After installation reset it to begin with Hard Drive.

Can anyone help me, as I am trying to upgrade to the Pro, and it keeps saying to contact support

    Hi Kevin,
ExportPDF is an Adobe's online service and there is no link of upgrading Acrobat from ExportPDF service.
If you want to install and use Acrobat pro version, the you might purchase it as one-time purchase or as a subscription (annual/monthly).

  • Upgrade Windows 8 Pro (VL) to Windows 8.1 Pro or Ent (VL)

    Hello,
I have Windows 8.0 Pro from VL, and I would like to upgrade to Windows 8.1 either Pro or Ent from VL.  I downloaded both versions from VLC, but every time I start the installation, it just does nothing.  It says - Preparing - all the way to 98%

  • Unable to get windows xp pro to boot on partitioned hard drive

Just got an intel based Macbook Pro for the express purpose of not having to carry a Pc around as I already had a G4 Macbook Pro which works well. Spent 2 hours trying to get the window to boot as bootcamp says it should once the XP is downloaded on page 13 and 14 of bootcamp directions. My XP copy is a bonafide in-the-box copy from Microsoft. The set up never asked me for the serial numbers to activate copy of XP. The XP disc did cause the computer to restart- Each time the flashing dash said - disc error - press any key to start but it would not boot.
This is why I am getting rid of my PC! Help very frustrating

    Hi
I will try that. I did query the partition to see what was there and XP was loaded into the windows partition. Perhaps repairing it will make a difference. I saw on another portion of the site that others are having the exact same problem. Look under bootcamp thread to read.
