Unable to upload certain songs

Hi, when I try to upload certain folders of music (.mp3) onto itunes, it gets stored in a folder called Unknown album/unknown artist under music. When i sync the itouch, these .mp3 tracks don't appear on the itouch. Please advise.

Take a second look at the problematic mp3s.
Is this the right format? (Encoded with OGG won't appear on your playlist.)
Is it a hybrid/video track?
Is the file suffix correct? (Is is ".mp3"?
If it's an mp3 and it still doesn't work, could you type out the name of the track? If you command-i on the track, what appears?

Can't upload certain songs to iPod touch?!

I just got an 8 gig iPod touch a few days ago and I started to add music from my iTunes library onto it but certain songs won't load. On iTunes, they are grayed out and have the circular arrows. They don't show up at all on the iPod. Any ideas?

Never mind! To all the people out there who had this problem, I just had to wait about twenty minutes and they started to load.
I think it may have been because there was a lot being uploaded in a short period of time.

Unable to upload purchased songs to ipod

Just got new IPOD replacing IPOD I had years ago. I am using my same account that I had then on different computer and I am unable to upload my purchased songs to my ipod. Message states that I do have permission on this computer.
Any thoughts to resolve.

Unable to add certain songs to iTunes--strange glitch

Hello.
I have an iPod touch 2g, 8gb on itunes 8, windows Vista 32-bit.
For some reason, certain songs will not add into the itunes library to be transferred onto the ipod.
For example, I have a few Jack Johnson songs. One will add, but the rest of them wont. These were all burned from the same CD at the same time, legally owned and all. Itunes will transfer one song, but not the other six. I try manually dragging into the library and it doesn't work, and manually dragging to the ipod touch does not seem to have any effect either.
It is not just Jack Johnson CDs that I am having a problem with, I have a Don McLean CD from the 90's, a few A Fine Frenzy CDs, The Academy Is... (one of their CDs) among others. It's far too diversified to just be one particular thing. I have tried un-installing and installing iTunes a couple times, and it doesn't seem to be a driver problem at all.
Is there some way to add songs that I'm not aware of, some reason that the songs are not being added, or even an alternative to itunes that would be able to add these missing songs to my iPod? The problem is pretty widespread--I on;y have a music library of 500 songs or so, and about 80 of them won't add.

Not sure what you mean by "double-checking online," but if the tag cleanup did not help, and you don't have the original CDs, I would go to cjschriver3's suggestion. If you have something like Audacity, read the file in and export it back out as a nice new "clean" MP3.
(BTW, not sure where you got the idea that iTunes was "higher end." It has very nice and flexible features for syncing iPods, which is its main purpose in life, but as a player is really just consumer-grade, and not particularly reliable at that, as you have learned first hand.)

Unable to play certain songs that I have bought and paid for via Itunes.

All of a suddent it keeps asking me to authorize my computer to play certain songs, when I do it says the computer is already authorized but it kicks it back to the authorization log in screen when I click on the song I want to play. I have deleted Itunes, redownloaded, cleared caches and done pretty much what every one else has said to do but I still can't get them to play.
Between this and the 2gb Ipods of two of my boys... shutting off when they fast forward to another song.. I am about to give up on Itunes period.

Have you tried resetting your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Unable to upgrade certain songs to iTunes Plus

When I go to the iTunes Plus section it shows me a few songs and albums which I can upgrade but when I try to upgrade/buy I get a message that reads: "The item you tried to buy is no longer available" So what do I do?

Yep now iTunes Plus is missing for me as well. I did manage to contact iTunes Support and this is what they replied with:-

It's possible that "Talvin Singh Ha" is being updated and is therefore temporarily unavailable. Please try again in 72 hours. If you still are unable to purchase it, please let me know.+

But of course now there is no iTunes Plus so no option to buy anyway.

My Ipod is unable to sync certain songs...

When I ran the diagnostics it showed that ITunes (latest version 11.1.3) was unable to sync with Ipod. However, I have been able to sync most of my songs. Can someone help figure out what is wrong?

Hi im new to this & not very computer savy. i loaded itunes cloud a few months ago. then stopped it half way through ,as it had taken 4.5 hrs already and ever since then i have lost (greyed out) many of my songs and i am unable to load them onto my phone even tho the play on my mac ??????? can anyone help please?

What format are the songs that won't move? Some formats that play in iTunes are not compatible with the 1st generation iPod shuffle, Aiff and Apple Lossless for instance. Apple Lossless is not supported on the 2nd generation shuffle:

Have setup ipod nano 3rd g 1.1.3 with itunes 8.0.0.35.
some of the songs were able to play in itunes but were not reconginze in the ipod and also unable to play at all.
even the songs show up in the ipod even in cover flow and all.
the songs just wont play.
Have tried the below before
1) delete all songs from the ipod and itunes and re-add again
2) restore the ipod and sync again.
but both of the above does not work.
is there anyone who can advice what other things that i can do?

Try taking the song that doesn't play, and convert it to AAC format. Then re-sync your iPod.
Chances are that the song was ripped with another software that isn't compatible with iTunes.

Why will some of my music not sync to the cloud and stores only on my phone and computer?

Ah, RealTime. I don't see this one that often anymore. Going back some years, Real Player and the CODEC's were popular. Lately, it's rather fallen out of favor. I am not sure what it takes to get the just the CODEC's, but the installation of the player should get those installed for you.
Now, I used to feel that Real Player is akin to a Trojan (personal view), because it wanted to hook all AV file types and assign them to Real Player. The user had little recourse back then, other than to install, and then manually go to Folder Options>File Types and reassign the file types. Also, Real Player always wanted to update automatically, and each time it did so, you'd have to redo all file assignments. Maybe it's more benign nowadays. It also wanted to "phone home," whenever you used it, and would spend 5 mins. telling you that you needed to upgrade, or buy add-ons, plus it would try to sell you other things via pop-ups. Even with a pop-up blocker, one would see a dozen ads on their screen, just to use the danged player! I could be that they have changed their policy, but I wanted to warn you of this behavior, so at least you would know that you might be spending some time with File Types from Control Panel.
Also, the CODEC's might be available without the player?

I have been unable to upload my songs onto the singstar community gallery because everytime I try to upload a song it gets to a certain percentage and then it tells me that it has failed. Dont know what to do, can someone please help?

My ipod crashed or skips when playing certain songs

Whenever I use itunes I can play all of my songs, however when I use my ipod nano 5th generation I am unable to play certain songs. When I try to play these songs my ipod either skips over the song or crashes. Both my ipod and itunes are up to date. I have tried doing a restore. I have tried taking off all the songs and reloading them (this just causes a different set of songs to become unplayable). I have also checked all my music files for corruption with software from CNET(they are all fine).

It's hard to say what cause of error is in particular, without a bit of troubleshooting. Where were these problem tracks downloaded from?

Again, I"m not really all of this troubleshooting is worth it since as you stated the problem is only apparent on the older iPod Video, which would point to an issue with that device. You could try and do a disk diagnostic on it to see if there is anything in particular that stands out there. Apple doesn't have a trade in policy, but they do have a recyling program where you can bring your old iPod into be recycled for a 10% discoun towards the purchase of a new one.

Can't Sync Certain Songs (2nd Gen)

Just bought a brand new 2nd Gen shuffle. I seem unable to sync certain songs to it. I'm not certain, but it seems to be songs that were copied into iTunes from audio CD's. Is this blocked in some misguided attempt at digital rights management? These are songs from CD's I own, which iTunes had no problem importing. Or is there some technical issue with imported songs that I need to address?

I'm unable to move certain songs from my itunes to my ipod touch. i never had this problem with my old ipod nano. any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem.
I can create new playlists... but when I select tracks and drag them to the newly created list I can't drop them there. What's going on? BTW... I'm using the newly released iTunes 8 (Please don't tell me it's buggy and I need to downgrade).
