Unable to upload iPhotos to Flickr
I have 26 Albums currently in iPhoto under a Flickr folder. But when I go to the linked Flickr site, only 12 of those albums exist on my Flickr account. I have tried reuploading the missing folders individually but no luck. Any suggestions?
Running iPhoto v9.6 on Yosemite v10.10.1.
I don't think so - just following the same workflow I always have
1) Select raw images
2) place them in the album I want in Flickr in the Flickr module
3) Ask it to publish
I think it's usually converting to jpg as it uploads. In this particular case, it's only images, no video files.
Worked for a long time and suddenly, not working.

Unable to upload iPhoto book to print from iPad
I have been unable to upload my iPhoto book to print it from my iPad...
It will go through the process of requesting apple ID password --> verifying my credit card --> then will say "placing order. uploading project" and look like it is uploading (ie blue bar showing progress) and sometimes this is progressing for hours, but then the app will crash and close down.
Things I've tried/confirmed so far: I have the up to date versions of iOS and iPhoto, I have it connected to wi-fi and plugged in, I have closed down all other apps on the iPad
Has anyone else had this issue? Any solutions?
Is there a way to upload it from my computer instead? -- I have a PC but have been unable to find the 'book' or photos in iTunes or elsewhere on the computer to even try this...

You have covered most issues, but you do not mention how much free memory you are having on your iPad. Submitting a book for printing need plenty of free memory on your iPad, about the same amount as the combined size of your photos. Could it be, that you are running out of memory?
Another reason might be an unprintable, corrupted photo in your book.

To order a photo book from Apple you need an Apple computer or an iOS device.

Unable to upload photos to flickr using Lightroom 4.4 publish service feature
I post process my images through LR and for several years published images to Flickr via Publish Services feature in LR. The current version is LR4.4. In the past two weeks I have been unable to publish new images on Flickr or update previously published images. Instead, I received the following explanation:
Can’t update this collection [ie., the Flickr collection in Publish Services]:
An internal error has occurred: Error Domain=NSXMLParserErrorDomain Code=4 "Line 1: Document is empty
" UserInfo=0x600010866bc0 {NSLocalizedDescription=Line 1: Document is empty

I have used his plugins successfully to publish to other photo sites.

Unable to upload iPhoto Album to Photocast
Hi everyone
Am new to the forums as have only recently got back into Macs.
My problem is that I have organised my Photos in iPhoto and have some that I want to upload to Photocast. The first couple of tests went fine (adds, changes, deletes) but over the last couple of weeks I get a failure during the upload about my dotmac account not being valid (which it is). Today have swapped from Trial to Full incase this was causing a problem.
To add to my problems I have managed to upload one album which I have subsequently deleted and the photocast has not been removed. How can I delete it?
Any and all suggestions to identify and resolve the problems would be appreciated.TimUK:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. There's been problems with the servers the last few days and users have been reporting issues with validation of the .Mac account right and left. I am one of them.
The solution that seems to work for most of us is to log into your .Mac account and reenter your account information and save. Some users have reported it took 5 or 6 attempts before it took. So give that a try and see if it will reset for you.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Aperture 3 trial - unable to upload iPhoto library
Have tried and tried - even tried manual but it hangs time and time again and has to be forced to quit
I really wanted to buy this product and it looks really good but to produce a trial that falls at the first fence is very poor and not exactly 'applish'
So my 30 days will be up and I have only managed to have a play with the brushes by uploading 1 image at a time

Try rebuild the iPhoto Library

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Unable to upload direct to Flickr
Suddenly stopped it says I have a problem with my internet connection or Firewall both appear to be ok and nothing was changed before this happened
Try refreshing OLS cache by going to Edit->Preferences->Adobe Partner services. Click on Clear Online Cache, re-launch application and then try to upload Flickr.

Unable to sync iphoto pictures to flickr album
Hi,
I am unable to sync iphoto with flickr album.
I created one album in My iphoto (containing about 14000 pictures) and tried to share with flickr. But after around 4000 pictures, it stopped syncing.
I tried to use share button several times but it did not try to sync again.
Anyone faced the same problem?

I used to upload any picture to Fbook which was in my Iphoto. Now, I can only upload pictures from IPhoto which are a week old. I'm unable to upload any recent pics from Iphoto to FBook - like pics I uploaded to I photo today. They are in IPhoto, but once I'm on FB, and want to upload, they aren't available to choose. Help? the booting and walking away and then attempting to browse and clean method is what i've been trying to do. it won't let me drag and drop and just freezes up and goes to sleep after 2 minutes. it's a never ending battle with very few results. which is why i questioned the method of just restoring the hd from a time machine backup.
do you think restoring the hd from time machine will resolve the issue with all pics on the desktop? and everything will be as it was from the date i restore it from? sorry, as you can tell, i'm not overly computer savvy.
i have a really old desktop mac...i can try connecting the two...how does one boot a mac in 'target mode'?
as for the iphoto cleaning and organizing issue...that is what i was trying to accomplish with importing them to a folder. was going to browse and clean from there...but somehow imported to desktop which is what's complicating everything. once i get them off the desktop i can work on the iphoto issue...which as i mentioned...i didn't take 45,000 pics...i've just taken about 4,500 over the last few years, and they are being duplicated in iphoto. this was my attempt to clean it out entirely and start over. it will basically be a lot of deleting.
one problem, seems to lead me to more...which is just my luck. :-)

Assuming you have space on your disk, then it could be a symptom of a damaged Library.
Option 1

IPhoto 2 shrinks images before uploading them to flickr
The new version of iPhoto 2 shrinks images before uploading them to flickr. Now you can't use flickr to backup your orginal photos through the iphoto app.
In fact no matter if I use a High or Medium compression size JPEG, the size after upload is the same.
Starts with 1,5 MB/5600px (high) or 780kb/5600px (medium) JPEG and ends after upload in 115kb for a 1024px image.
This means that iPhoto auto compress in order to publish to Mobile Me, even if we start with a bigger file.
I hope this info is useful to others.

Unable to upload from iPhoto to FB after creating new library
Two days ago I exported all my photos/videos from iPhoto 09 to an EHD. I created a new library - Library 2012 - and since have added about 50 photos and one 2-minute video.
I can click on "email" at the bottom of my iPhoto screen and successfully send images.
However, I cannot upload photos or videos to FB. I start on my FB page, click "add photo/video". In the good ole days, this took me to iPhoto and I could select my image. Since creating Library 2012, I cannot access my library through any of the links that are on the screen that appears. I've tried the following, all leading to a dead end:
Under Media > Photos: Nothing populates the column to the right.
Under Places > Applications > iPhoto > "preview" of iPhoto populates column to the right. Clicking it uploads the useless "preview"
Under Places > iPhoto Library 2012 > iPhoto Library 2012. Clicking it uploads to the useless "preview"
(Note: I had taken screenshots of the above, to better illustrate, but was unable to upload them to this forum as well. Frustrating much?!)

I just ran the repair permissions with Disk utility, as suggested. A great number of permissions differed ... but, in the end, after it was completed and I re-booted, the same issue remains with iPhoto.
I'm now running "Permission Verify" just for the heck of it. -

What version of iPhoto? How are you trying?
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there? -
As of a few days ago I am unable to upload images online. First I noticed it with a Mixbooks and then with Ebay. In some cases it starts to load it and then starts over and over without any success. On Ebay it just sits there preparing to upload. I tried uploading it from iPhoto and then from my desktop with the same results. The internet connection is good and firewall isn't an issue. I'm running the latest Snow Leopard version on a 6 month old 27" iMac. Any suggestions?

I am unable to upload any photos to photo sharing sites?
For the last two days I have been unable to upload any photos regardless of size to a professional photo sharing website. I have tried everything possible such as disabling my Norton services, emptying the DNS cache, clearing all browers histories and all cookies. I've tried creating new accounts on the website and nothing has worked. I then tried to upload photos to another site and when the photo started to load it said that I lost internet connection yet I didn't. I am able to use my daughter's dell and can upload photos just fine on any site with her computer. I did a live chat with Norton and they ran me through a series of things as well and said it is something with my mac. Does anyone have any suggestions???? I'm at a complete loss and beyond frustrated with this entire experience.
Hi, Thank you so much for the info.... I really do appreciate it. We had the laptop updated by way of a system upgrade with RAM and an additional SSD drive. Once reconfigured all programs were reinstalled but Iphoto is not among them. Iphoto was on the laptop when purchased so we have no additional discs. Before the laptop was updated we backed the photos up to an extrenal hard drive so we have them, but cant access them. Could I purchase Iphoto 8 stll? Would this work? We would also require an external CD drive as we no longer have the disc drive in the laptop (I think the extra new bits took over). You may have noticed I have very limited knowledge on computers so any help dispite how simple it may sound to some would help me greatly. I just want all my photos back .... Thanks inadvance... Any idea as to why when uploading pictures to Flickr from iPhoto that it scrambles up the orde in which they were taken?
Yes, because the phone sticks it in the EXIF information, which Photoshop will happily preserve when saving.
I'm sure flickr will soon start filtering description fields consisting of only 'Back Camera' or 'Front Camera'. They do this for other camera models that put info in that field, too.
