Unable to upload purchased songs to ipod

Just got new IPOD replacing IPOD I had years ago. I am using my same account that I had then on different computer and I am unable to upload my purchased songs to my ipod. Message states that I do have permission on this computer.
Any thoughts to resolve.
Thanks.

You're welcome, azguy, no problem!
Just for testing purposes, could you reply back on this thread one more time? I'd like to see if I get an automatic email notification from that or not, since the notifications seem to have been working on/off lately.
Thanks!

  • Cannot upload purchased songs to ipod

Hopefully there is a simple fix to this. I have a nano and have loaded songs to it from cd's. Today I purchased some songs through the itunes store and these songs will not upload to the nano. The nano sees the songs but will not play them. In my itunes folder, the songs have a little lock on them. I also received an error message saying that my ipod will not play the format the songs are in.
However, the ipod will play songs that i purchased from the music store several months ago.
Looked in Preferences and changed import format from AAC to MP3 Encoder. I purchased another song with the new setting and it still won't play on the nano.
    What am I doing wrong?

Why is there not an answer to this? I purchased 5 songs last night, only 2 will upload to my phone. I found the songs in the cloud and uploaded them to my iphone. However these songs will not upload to my playlist. I deleted apps, pictures and only have one play list on my phone, but these songs will not go to my play list. Please help me or refund my money for the songs.

    Your post isn't clear.
What does "i reset my account" mean? What account?
"couldn't retrieve it". What is "it"?
What method are you using to transfer songs to the iPod, and what happens when you try?

  • Cannot add purchased songs to iPod

I am about ready to throw my Macbook out the window. I detest the new makeover on iTunes making me feel like a complete idiot that I cannot figure out for the life of me how to transfer one stinking song that I purchased on iTunes to my iPod Touch. I have confirmed the song is in my music library, I have synced my Ipod several times. I appreciate any help on this!

My problem is similar but broader.  At some point a few months ago, I could no longer listen to any of my purchased music on my iPod Touch.  All of the purchased music remained in my iPod music library (I can still see every song); however, none of my purchased music will play.  When my playlist reaches a purchased song, the iPod stops playing.  I've re-synced my iPod many times and the same thing occurs.  And, I've restored my iPod with the same end result.
One other issue that I believe may be related: I'm also noticing that some of my playlists don't show up on my iPod anymore.  All of this seems to have occurred at the same time.  And I still have 22 GB of capacity available so that isn't the issue.  Can anyone offer a solution?  I would really appreciate it.

  • Unable to copy purchased songs from iTMS to my iPods

When I try to load songs purchased from iTMS I get the following message:
'Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because your iPod software is too old. Go to the Summary tab in
iPod preferences and click Update and get the latest iPod software update.'
In the Version panel in the Summary tab "Your iPod is up to date" is
displayed and the Update and Restore buttons are greyed out. I can't update
or restore. I went to the Apple store in McLean, VA and they did a restore
on my iPods (Nano and Shuffle).
I can copy songs from my CD collection to my iPods but not purchased songs
from iTMS. All of my software is up to date. I have iTunes 7.0.2 (re-
installed several times trying to solve this problem). My iPods appear on
the desktop and in iTunes. I have Deauthorized and Authorized my computer.
All of my songs play on my computer with no problem.

    ditto here.
    3rd Gen IPod works fine.
5th Gen iPod mounts on desktop and in iTunes.
    - iPod Summary shows "n/a" in the Software Version and Serial Number fields.
    - Version Summary shows "[My] iPod is up to date", but the "Restore" button is not active.
    - Attempt to sync/copy Library results in alert...
"Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because your iPod software is too old. Go to the Summary tab in iPod preferences and click Update and get the latest iPod software update."
    - All but iTunes Store purchases sync/copy.
    - Have thoroughly un-installed and re-installed iTunes.
    - Have attempted various USB ports for connection.
    - Verified working status with other iTunes 7.0.2 installed macs (i.e. Software and Serial field are populated, and "Restore" button is active.
? I had a similar issue previously when updating to iTunes 6.x- regarding the "...software too old" alert text. Resolved this by deleting and reinstalling the iPodDriver.kext extension. Does iTunes 7 still install this driver? Checking extensions, i've only tracked down an iTunesPhoneDriver.kext.
? Also an "unrelated" odd note... my new 5th Gen came shipped from Apple, already formatted for Windows.

  • Transfering previously purchased songs from iPod to a new computer

Please help... my daughter just purchased a used iPod with 4000+ songs on it. I loaded iTunes okay but then keep getting a message that the iPod needs to be restored/it's unable to be read. Apparently this will erase all songs. Since the songs are not already on our computer I don't want to erase them. Is there a way to transfer the songs to our computer (Windows XP) before restoring the iPod? Is there a better way to do any of this? I've tried to read all of the other posting but can't figure it out. Thanks!

  • How to Transfer Purchased Songs from iPod back to iTunes.

I lost some purchased songs in iTunes that are on my iPod. How do I do this? I see the place in iTunes to click to make this transfer but I'm not sure how to keep the iPod from syncing from the computer first and then it will match the computer and the songs will be lost on the iPod, too. I guess what I'm asking is how do I keep the iPod from automatically syncing to the computer the minute I put it in the dock? Is there a way to make syncing of songs manual?

You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes Keyboard Shortcuts for OSX
Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual if you wish. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in the Summary tab then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod

  • How to transfer purchased songs from ipod touch to itunes

how do i transfer songs i bought from the wifi music store onto my itunes library?
i manually manage my music so when i hit sync, it doesn't do it. when i hit file, transfer purchases from my ipod, it transfers all purchased songs, even ones i bought on other computers and then put on my ipod, not just through the wifi music store. How do i transfer just the ones purchased on my ipod?

    Hi ipodtuser234,
Clicking "Synchronize" will only transfer songs from the library to the iPod.
To transfer music donwloaded from iTunes Music Wi-Fi Store to the computer, connect your iPod then right-click you iPod name on the Source list and hit "Transfer Purchases".
Here you have an article about that: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305465
To transfer only determined song from the iPod to your iTunes library. See my post [here|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6923237#6923237].
    Hope this helps!

  • Cant put "purchased" songs on "iPOD"

Im sure its just because of this new version of iTunes I can remeber several updates where one was messed up and giving various errors. I think it was 6.2 to 6.5 and then a week later an update came out and fixed it.
I was using 7.0.2 and it was working fine. I recently purchased "korn unplugged" and "sevendust alpha" Now I can not manually move the songs to my iPOD.
I tried moving from one playlist to the other and that odly put the songs in the playlist on the iPod but the song count didnt go up and the songs didnt appear under IPOD>Music. When i click on the songs in the playlist i get an exclaimation point on the left like it cant find the file. Oddly enough the songs plays fine in iTunes, they just don't transfer to the iPod.
I deleted a song on the iPod, reset it and tested it, the song was not a newly purchased song and it went right on to the iPOD so i tried a "korn unplugged" song. Same thing happens, same results, cant transfer one of my newly downloaded songs.
Updated to 7.1.1 (which installed fine), but....same thing, old songs transfer fine new songs wouldnt transfer. My software for the iPOD is 2.3 and that is the latest version. I reloaded the software and that made no difference.
I know the 5 Rs and the hidden folder fixes, those didnt do anything.
I have never had a problem with my iPOD, but cant seem to quit having problems with iTunes and purchased music. All those filters to keep the RIAA happy are really messing stuff up, authorizing, protected aac's are annoying, they never used to be 'this annoying'
I have come to the conclusion this is another bad update for iTunes and next week there will be a fix. But if someone can persude me otherwise, im all ears.

  • After upgrade, iPod wont allow purchased songs on iPod

After trying many things, and finally calling tech support, I got iTunes 6.1 running. It updated all of my songs, except for the ones I purchased. I only have this computer authorized, and I can play all of my purchased songs on the computer. But, none of the purchased ones will transfer to iPod. I "reset" the iPod warnings, and it still wont do it. I've updated the iPod, and I restored it.
    Thanks

I can't think of any reason that songs purchased from the iTunes store wouldn't go on to your iPod (unless you didn't disconnect it properly from your computer), so I suggest that you make a new playlist and drag all of your songs into this playlist. Then change the preferences so that this playlist automatically syncs.

  • Unable to play purchased songs...

A couple of days ago, they worked fine, but now, whenever I want to play one of the purchased songs, i get no audio... I tried speakers and headphones... nothing worked... But the display shows the music is playing... And when I play one of the songs I copied from my computer, they work perfectly... Anyone knows how to fix this?

I had this same problem, and I found that if I restarted my iPod by pressing down the hold button, the problem went away. It only happened one more time, and I restarted it, and now my audio is fine.

  • Unable to sync purchased songs

Recently, when I sync my ipods to my 18 month old computer, I receive a message that about half of my purchased songs cannot be synced because those songs are not authorized for this computer. All songs were purchased and downloaded only to this computer. What's going on?

In iTunes go to the Store menu and Deauthorize your computer. Play one of the songs that can't be synced in iTunes and when prompted enter your Apple ID and password. Resync your songs.
