Unable to use AOL Desktop Browser

Hi,
The last couple of days we've been unable to use the AOL Destop Browser with a BT connection. My mother prefers this browser despite advising her to use Chrome/Firefox/IE several times but now she is unable to. I phoned AOL and was told following some sort of recent BT server update AOL were blocked. I contacted BT but they were unable to help. Not sure why it was necessary to block AOL but yeah, for my mother's sake it would be good if we could use the AOL browser again.

You imply she was able to use the AOL browser until a couple of days ago.
The AOL browser may have some dedicated settings, aimed purely at AOL users. Things like automated configuration settings and all sorts of things could be set (tools/internet options in IE).
Not sure about the BT server update, and would question whether AOL are just fobbing you off.
Frankly things do change, and moving ISPs can mean a new learning curve for some - particularly from AOL with their own stuff. Might be worth getting her to try Firefox (for e.g.) again. If the AOL browser isn't going to work, then she'll have to.

I'd keep trying the other way. You may have hit it when BC was doing an update or something. If it works one way it should work the other way. But sometimes BC can be kind of temperamental and you have to do a little dance or something to get it to work. But it generally comes around and fixes itself in short time.

Since my Maverick infall, I'm unable to use remote desktop connection, What can I do?

Since I updated to Maverick, i am unable to cconnct to my job's server through the remote desktop connection. I know the problem is not at work since I'm able to connect from my apple laptop and other windows computers. When I try to connect I get an error message stating the terminal session is not supported in my computer. Can I connect to my office server using Maverik or do I have to revert to Mountain Lion?

I talked with Apple support they tried having me restart my comp and reinstall intunes. Which did not work and he basically said that I would need to go the apple store and probably have to get a new phone. Thank god I backed everything up first.

Unable to use CC desktop

I get a blank CC window with a small window overlaying it which contains the CC logo. I am unable to close or manipulate either window and unable to select anything behind the small window. the only way I can close the desktop app is to End Task through the Task Manager. A screen grab is attached. I am running Windows 8.1 and this is a recent problem.

Try the following steps & let us know if that worked or not.
1) Please download and run Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
2) Run Creative Cloud Cleaner tool and choose option 3 and then option 1 to complete the cleaning process.
3) Once done please rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old from these locations

Unable to use show desktop gesture in full screen

Hello,
I save a lot of temporary items to my desktop. I also use full-screen mode for nearly everything and I find it a bit frustrating that I can't just gesture back to the desktop. If I swipe to another desktop, I don't have the same saved items.
Anyone have suggestions for a workaround?

Ahh figured it out. But my hot corner for show desktop still doesn't work when in full screen. Any other suggestions?

Bookmark page frozen and unable to use Safari

When I launch Safari the bookmarks page is frozen on the screen. I am unable to use Safari to browse.
Everytime I select the Done option nothing happens. The multiple pages icon at the bottom right of the screen is highlighed in white. It appears to be stuck on that option. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

I have a iMac destop 10.6.2 and use the AOL Mail web site with your Firefox Browser. It has worked great for years. I update the firefox to 6.1 and now I cannot send images using the Firefox browser. With Safari browser it works fine.

I use AOL mail - http://www.aol.com/ with my Firefox 6.1 browser. Before updating aol mail worked great with firefox for years. Now when I try to send ( upload) messages with a file or images I always get the reading " there was a technical problem and I should try again". Messages with NO files or images go through just fine. I have cleared the Firefox history, the cache and cookies and the problem remained the same. The question is does this problem have something to do with the latest update ? AOL are still only familar with the 3.6 Firefox versions. Thanks

Well I guess I was too optimistic. Since last posting I have had three hang events, one during reboot. When the login dialog box came up I clicked on it and it hung.
However I do have a new data point. I have enabled the remote login (sshd). I have discovered that when the system hangs like I described above, I can still log in via SSH from my Windows system. The shell appears normal, but when I tried a "killall Safari" command the OS crashed hard. After a hard reset, the system hung during the login process. Again I could login remotely, and that time I executed a "sudo reboot" via the remote session. That cleared the display to all-blue but did not successfully reboot.
Can anyone suggest what to try via the remote login to help diagnose what is happening? I am familiar with typical Linux architecture but the differences in Mac OS X are leaving me a bit disoriented.

I am unable to attach PDFs to Hotmail/Outlook email using my FF browser today. Never had issue before today.

1. I am unable to attach pdfs today in Outlook/Hotmail email using my Firefox browser (27.0.1). I keep getting an error message that says, "The file is not a picture and can't be inserted inline." I do not understand why I keep getting this error message. I am not attempting to insert an image. I am selecting to Insert Files as Attachments from the drop down menu.
No matter how many times I attempt to attach various pdfs to my emails today using Firefox as my browser, I keep getting this same error message. I have cleared the cache, cleared all cookies, cleared all history, signed out of my Hotmail/Outlook account, signed back in, restarted computer, etc., to no avail. Same problem.
2. I switched to my Safari browser, and have no problem attaching pdfs in my Hotmail/Outlook email account. The pdfs are attaching perfectly as usual. My emails are being sent normally with the attachments. The attached pdfs are being received and are opening perfectly as intended.
3. Why am I unable to attach files with Firefox today? Firefox is my browser of choice and I have used it with my Hotmail/Outlook email account without any problems, till today. Please help me! Thank you!

Thank you jscher2000. Yes my PDFs do contain the .pdf extension. I tried your excellent idea to utilize the drag and drop method, but I still get the same error message with PDFs. I have no problem attaching photos or Word documents with either method; just PDFs.
For further diagnostics, I started composing my email in Safari, attached all my pdfs and saved my email as a Draft. I then went to Firefox, opened the draft to continue working on it, and voila! There are all the pdfs I attached previously while in Safari. I was able to send the email with attachments through Firefox with no issues. The attachments went through and were able to be opened.
I am mystified, as Firefox has been trouble-free with my email account, and I have never had this particular issue till today. I made no changes to anything else on my computer, but I did notice very late last night that Outlook had one of those typical messages at the top of my Inbox to refresh my browser since Outlook had been updated. I refreshed and shut down for the night, and when I rebooted this morning that is when I discovered this brand new glitch with attachments. I'm assuming this has something to do their last update.

My client's website website with images in layers and tables
dislpays perfectly for most people, but does not seem to display

I use AOL as an internet service provider for dial up. Don't knock it, but you can if u want I'm cool with people here. I use the dial up because I use two ISP and attend a university. Because now of the blended and distance use of the computer, the importance of having two Internet Service Providers on dial up is important. You see i can always grab another phone line, but not just another DSL.
America Online offers an AOL desktop for Macs. Advertised as designed by mac users for mac users. Has anybody tried this software that must be downloaded?
Since it says AOL for desktop and to me this means i have to look at junk on my computer screen. Plus my now Mac desktop or the screen display appears very fast, and i like the pretty blue. Does anyone have experience with this AOL Desktop for macs?

I haven't installed AOL Desktop For Mac yet but I know you can run both that & AOL For Mac OS X Version 10.3.7 simultaneously.
So you could install it to test drive without losing AOL For Mac OS X.

I am having exactly the same problem with my iPhone 4 (running 6.0.1 (10A523)). I have rebooted several times since this started occurring but it doesn't change the behavior. It was also reporting a "storage almost full" error quite often when I still have 1GB - 3GB of free space. As a troubleshooting exercise I removed all my music so there is now 20.1GB free. The storage warning no longer appears but the same issue still persists with reminders. Help, please!

Facebook photo albums display fine but when I click on an individual picture in the album only the caption displays. (does not happen when I use AOL as my browser)

In Facebook, when I click on any individual photo it will not display. Everything, including the caption, displays fine but not the picture itself. If I use AOL as my browser this does not happen, only on Firefox.

Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (Site Identification icon) on the left side of the location bar. 
A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info"). 
Open the Media tab of the "Page Info" window. 
Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key. 
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Safari EBAY ISSUES - Unable to use eBay within any browser.

Since installing leopard (fresh install) and using safari 3 I have been unable to use eBay on many occasions (only working randomly). However strangely when safari is playing up, no other browser (opera, ff, camio) can access ebay. I realise that ebay uses webkit to render pages and other browsers use various rendering engines so other browsers using alternate render engines should be able to access it unaffected.
All other webpages can be accessed, only ebay.
Please help.

This is a bit of a low-tech idea, but have you tried rebooting/powering off/on your modem/router? Occasionally you hear of modems/routers playing up for one requested site and a proverbial kick up the back-side fixes it
If that doesn't work, maybe the DNS servers of your ISP are acting up and not replying with the correct information. Try using those provided by [OpenDNS|www.opendns.com/start] to see if it helps matters or not.
