Unable to use iCloud Backup on iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 6.0.1

Hi, I have been unable to use iCloud Backup for several weeks on both my iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 6.0.1 & my iPhone 4, iOS 6.0.1
iCloud Backup is set to On on both devices. It did backup once or twice, since I installed the iOS 6.0.1, then it stopped working altogether.
I hope someone can help me.

I know. In my post I said ....
"remove the all day event or change the event from all day - in whatever application on your computer that you sync the calendar from and them sync again to remove the event from the iPad calendar."
You will need to do this from your computer. If you do not use your computer to sync with iTunes, you will not be able to get around this.
However, I should have asked of this only happens when you are trying to view events in March, so maybe I misled you. I apologize. Try this now. Quit the calendar app completely in the recents tray and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Unable to use brand new Ipod Nano 3rd gen

I have just purchased an ipod nano 3rd generation. I had previously updated iTunes to the latest version available on my MacBook Pro (10.4.10)
Whenever I plug it in I get: "An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again"
I've done what it says to do, and I have rebooted etc.. it just won't work.

    Hi thesquib,
Have you tried connecting your iPod to your computer in Disk Mode? Sometimes if an iPod is in disk mode it will be recognized better by the computer.
    For instructions, see this article:

  • IPad (3rd gen) stuck on iOS 6 beta 4. Can't restore or update to public release?

I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 just fine, although it wasn't on the beta. My iPad on the other hand... When I check for the update OTA and when it's plugged into my computer, both say it's up to date. When I try to restore it I get "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPad. The requested resource was not found".
Anyone having the same problem? Or better yet, does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks.

Just put your iPad into DFU mode - hold power and home until Apple logo appears. Let go of the power button but continue to hold the home button for 10 seconds, or until the USB cord image appears. This is DFU mode.
Now select restore and iTunes will be able to download the GM.

I even tried to turn off iCloud
    i have iPad 3rd gen

I am having same issue on my iPhone 5s. Whenever i am trying login to iCloud from my device setting it's asking for apple id password & every time showing incorrect password verification failed but in fact the password is correct.
When trying to restore my iPhone from my PC iTunes backup it's asking to turn off Find my iPhone from the device iCloud setting. When i am going to turn it off from device iCloud setting it's asking for apple id password then a notification showing "verification failed, the connection to iCloud timed out.
I never faced this on any other iOS version other than iOS 8/8.0.2
    Very disappointing iOS

  • IPad (3rd Gen) activation server unavailable

    Morning all,
used my iPad 3rd Gen 3G (running iOS 6 GM Seed) happily yesterday night, loaded the battery overnight, and now, on 01 Oct 06:00 AM GMT i have it locked down, saying it needs activation. Proceeding through the mandatory steps ends up with a "activation servers unavailable" message (internet connectivity is fine). I retried it now for about an hour. The iPad is now unusable , rebooted it / hooked up to my Mac / iTunes etc  - won't help.
    Anyone else seeing this?
    thanks
    Emanuel

  • Will siri be on iPad 3rd gen in iOS 7?

It shows that Siri will be available on iPad with retina display and iPad mini but it doesn't show the iPad 3rd gen. In iOS 6 the iPad 3 had Siri but would they take it away in iOS 7?

If Siri is in iOS 6 in the 3rd generation iPad, it will still be in iOS 7. 3rd and 4th generation iPads are iPads with Retina displays

  • A FaceTime call on iPad 3rd gen reboot the device

Not happens in every call but perhaps in a 4/10 calls proportion.
I've Ipad 3rd gen, with latest iOS in it. I often receive and made calls from my family (almost 1 call a day) and I can test the behaviour in a great detail.
The crash makes the iPad reboot. Not any other flaw. This only happen in FaceTime and not in all calls. But it leads to confusion and honestly: We don't pay a  600 bucks device that can't handle a videoconference call.
This must be solved...fast. Or people (like me) will move to other solutions (skype, g+ hangouts...etc)

Thanks for the info, however the correct url is:

  • ICloud Backup crashes and will not complete on iPad 3rd Gen

iCloud Backup has not been able to complete a backup on my 3rd Gen iPad since I upgraded to iOS 7.1. The backup starts, but about half-way through the iPad spontaneously reboots. This happens both when I manually start the backup from the Settings app and also when it attempts an automatic backup while the screen is off. I am also syncing with iTunes on my Mac, so I have occasional backups that way, but I would like to get iCloud backup to work again.
    Is anybody else experiencing this?
In general, I find iOS 7.1 slow and still very buggy on a 3rd Gen iPad. I don't think the hardware can really keep up with it.
    Thanks,
    Drew

FYI iOS 7.1 runs fine on my iPad 3. I haven't encountered any bugs.
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    No data will be lost.
If this doesn't solve your problem and, accounting for your mention of other bugs, consider doing a complete restore to Factory using iTunes on your computer.

  • HT201270 I have an iPad 3rd gen. A carrier settings update notification has appeared on my screen, and it doesn't do anything when I press either 'update' or 'not now' . Because the notification is still there, I am unable to use any apps or shut it down.

Have you tried a reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 20 seconds (maybe longer) until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider.  Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

    1. be connected to wi fi
    2. be plugged in to power source
    3. turn screen off
go to settings>icloud>storage and backup>backup now.

  • Since upgrading iTunes 10.5.1.42, I have been unable to use the "Advanced - Create iPad or Apple TV Version" to convert movies.

I have been unable to use the "Advanced - Create iPad or Apple TV Version" to convert my movies for use with my iPad2. The movie will go through the conversion process, and is the correct length, but the video is a black and there is no sound? Has anyone found a similar problem? If so, what can I do to fix the problem? Before I used Handbrake to convert the videos which worked well, but now that is not working either .

No, there is no direct download link. Those are days of the past, I'm afraid. You may need to reinstall Mavericks.
Install or Reinstall Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion, or Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
How to Clean Install OS X Yosemite
OS X Mavericks- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Erase and reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
