Unable to use my phone as a modem on Windows 8.
Hi,
When I connect my nokia 701 or my C3-00 to my Laptop running windows8 as a modem, It connects perfectly for the first time but when I disconnect the internet any connect back, the phone never connects to the internet again.
I have to restart the laptop to establish the connection. Because, it connects without any problem when I restart my laptop!
So this is a bug in windows 8?
I have tried connection via both usb and bluetooth too and it doesn't work for the 2nd time.
Any Idea?
I have attached system information (via Nokia suite).

First I uninstalled PC suite with ease and then when I tried to uninstall Nokia suite it gave an error and then two options to repair and uninstall. I repaired it first and then uninstalled it successfully.
I restarted the laptop and started to insatall PC suite again. It Installed it successfully and I tried to connect to the internet with my 701. But, it connected successfully for the first time and never for next attempts.
After this,I closed the PC suite(file-exit) and installed Nokia suite.
It installed successfully and I tried to connect to internet with my 701 again, It connected successfully AND for the many attempts of disconnecting and reconnecting again, I thought problem is with PC suite and Nokia suite resolved it.
But today, both via Nokia suite and PC suite(I'm not using them simultaneously, I close one of them first, as adviced.), it connects for the first time and never for next attempts. So problem is still there even after reinstalling them.
No solution even after reconnecting the cable or it won't even connect via bluetooth to the internet too(Both using 701 and C3-00). But ok with the WiFi.
Also note that my Windows 8 is updated.

I attempted to update my iphone 3 using itunes. I'm not certain but I believe I did a backup on my pc first. I am now unable to use the phone at all - the slide bar won't move and I have a camera icon next to the slide bar which is not responsive. I have tried to sync and even left the phone connected to the pc overnight. Try resetting it if you can: hold the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignore the off slider that appears first), then release. If you can't, try to connect it to iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your sync settings and click Restore to restore it. If that doesn't work you'll have to force it into recovery mode to restore it as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.
You can check in iTune to see if you have a backup. They are listed in iTunes>Preferences>Devices. However, the backup may not bring your contacts back as contacts are only backed up as necessary to preserve the recent call and call favorites lists. -
installed the ios 7.0.2 update to my iphone 4, now it is stuck on a screen with itunes icon and power plug.
I am unable to use the phone now. What should i do next? I plug in to itune in my computer and ask me to restore my phone? That's usully symptomatic of a phone that was jailbroken or hacked to unlock it.

Configuring Treo755p (Sprint) to use as "phone as a modem" service for laptop pc via Blue Tooth
Need help with configuring a Palm Treo755p (Sprint) to be used as "phone as a modem" with my laptop pc via Blue Tooth. The two are "paired" and I can push files (documents) from PC to phone. I can also HotSync wirelessly (via Blue Tooth). I am just wanting to "loose" the cable from the phone to the laptop pc when using "phone as a modem" for internet connectivity on my laptop pc. I see that there is a "virtual com port" established, but when I launch internet explorer, it wants to dial a number. The phone has "instant-on" internet connectivity.

Are you sure it's the E71x? The "x" stands for the US model. The E71-1 is for the EU and Asia market. Dial*#0000# to see what version you have.

Hi i currently cannot swipe up to get to the control centre on my iphone 4. So am unable to swith the do not disturb off therefore are unable to use my phone
Do not disturb is also accesible in settings, so you may be able to temporarily avoid the issue by allowing calls from everyone and having it only silent while locked, or perhaps secheduling might work. Other than that, restarting your device may be an option.
Is there any reason you know of that might be making you unable to access control center? -

i downloaded the new io7 software last night on my phone whilst I had it charging. I heard it would take a while so I went to bed and left it to run. I woke this morning to see the new changes and I couldn't access my phone. All it's been showing all day is a picture of the connection wire to connect to iTunes. I have got home and tried to do that and now it's saying updating new software, then it stops and says "restore before you use iTunes" - how can I do anything if I can't access my phone? I have spoke to other people and their download was fine and didn't have to connect up to iTunes, so why do I, what will happen if I restore? How can I restore if I can't get my phone in working mode?? Can anyone advice me what to do? I haven't been able to use my phone all day and still can't use it.Sounds like something may have happened during the update and it put itself in recovery mode. How do I revert back to IOS 10.8 on my 27" iMac intel version? Since I upgraded to 10.9 on Monday I am unable to use my mouse buttons in the App Store window, notes or ibook windows. It works everywhere elese but not in any Apple application system windows.
I'll try it. I don't have much confidence in it actually working since I'm having the same issue with all mouses (Bluetooth and wired) and my Bamboo Create.
Can you also tell me how to revert back to IOS 10.8 in case resetting mouse preferences do not work? I have already gone back and restored my system to before the up grade but it didn't restore the IOS system. -

You will need to restore your phone and recover from a backup. First you will need to erase and restore the device to factory settings:
You can restore the phone by completing a DFU restore.
DFU Restore:
1. Connect your phone to your computer
2. Open iTunes
3. Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake button and Home buttons simultaneously for approximately 9-10 seconds
4. When the screen goes blank, release the Sleep/Wake button and continue holding the Home button
5. the screen MUST remain black. If the Apple logo appears while still holding the Home button you did not time it properly (either you released Sleep/Wake too soon or too late)
6. iTunes will pop up with a small window indicating you have connected an iPhone in recovery mode and can Restore it to recover it.
7. If the apple logo appears due to incorrect timing the Recovery mode message may still appear in iTunes, but you should simply dismiss it and try again from step 3.
Afterwards, you'll want to restore from backup. If you use iTunes for backups, then your computer will ask if you'd like to restore the phone from backup after the process above completes and it is recognized as a blank phone in iTunes. If you use iCloud for backups, then disconnect your phone after the process above and wait for the first-time setup screen to appear on the phone. Select language, location, activate the device, and accept the terms and conditions; then choose to "restore from iCloud backup". After you sign in with your Apple ID you'll see your backups and you can select one. iCloud remembers that you had a password set but does not store the password in the cloud so when your phone restarts with your information on it it will prompt for a new password to be set.
If you did not have a backup on iTunes or iCloud, shame on you... Also, your information is gone unless you're willing to pay hundreds/thousands of dollars to a data recovery firm to maybe get things back. You get what you get and you don't get upset.
