Unable to use Shockwave Player - Xtra error
I am unable to run Shockwave - I keep getting the following error messages: "This application requires an Xtra (Font, Flash Movie, Text ...) that either does not exist or failed to initialize properly. Please make sure the appropriate Xtras are in the Xtra Folder" Any suggestions?

I figured out on my end that it was our Web Filter software blocking rosettastone.com. After adding this to our unblocked list it installed required components and ran successfully right away.

Unable to locate shockwave player
I am currently working on a flash intro for my website.
Although i have both flashplayer v10.0.10.12beta and shockwave
player v11 installed on my laptop OS/windows vista home premium. I
am having difficulty in opening the .fla file, windows does not
recognise this file. I tried open with and browsed my program files
for the flash player but was unable to locate it. I know i can use
photoshop cs3 but it's a huge download and i don't have much use
for it. Why can't i locate my flash and shockwave players?Download and run the full installer

N900 unable to use media player and camera
I just received my N900 like a few hrs ago and I was testing the features but when I tried playing one of the songs on the phone a message popped up saying "unable to play media. Audio is in use by another application". I didn't have any other application opened at all I also tried to use the camera and the same message popped up, still no other application was opened.
Another problem I noticed was when I receive a call even after pressing receive call the call still does not pick up...still rings on the other end but when I press end call it hangs up on the caller sending the call to voicemail. But making outgoing calls is no problem.
I'm a nokia fan and loved all my past nokia phones last one was the N95 and still is working fine after 4yrs this is the first time I'm having such problems and am disappointed especially since the phone is new.even with the latest firmware, 3.2010.02-8.002, you cannot talk on the phone or listen to music and take pictures. its a bummer, but i hope they fix it.
i even tried to put the phone in silent mode to cancel the need to use sound, but you still get the same error.
so, for the now, best just to pause the music when you want to take pictures. -
It seems that I am able to download and install Flash Player, and it is there in the Programs. It says Installation Successful. Yet whenever I go to a website that needs Flash Player, it says Flash Player is needed and must be downloaded and installed first. This has been going on for several months, and I am unable to view any websites requiring this software. I have uninstalled and reinstalled hundreds of times. OS is Win 7, latest version. IE is 9, latest version. Help!
Can you try the steps outlined in the following two FAQs for us?

Adobe Shockwave Player Installation Error.
I tried what seemed like everything to me, from the internet.
Tried installing the stand-alone installer; nothing. Tried getting
it from different download sites; still the same error.
How could I fix this error?

the msi-file did the trick ... i guess i completely forgot about their existence ... from now on i will most likely try to grab the msi-file ... that way i won't get stuck with this ad again i will also recommend this solution to my friends and colleagues

Shockwave Player 11 - Missing text xtra
I produce e-learning products using Director MX 2004 that are
used nationally across the NHS in England. These ran perfectly in
Shockwave Player 10.x but when users 'upgrade' to Shockwave Player
11, error messages appear stating that there is a missing Text Xtra
that the application requires to run. The html file into which it
is embedded states Shockwave Player 10 as a requirement and all
Xtras are set to Auto Download in the Director movie. When the
application runs, text is replaced by red cross boxes and they are
unusable. A solution is needed desperately! Please help!I don't have a solution, but rather this breaking of existing
content
relating to the Text Xtra has been noted on one or two of the
listserves
too. If a fix becomes apparent I'll post here. -
I am having a lot of difficulty configuring Shockwave Player
Just recently when I was using Shockwave Player to watch youtube videos in linux fedora 12.
It was working properly with color.
But the next day, that did not seem to happen!
The videos came in black and white and there were these distorted lines going accross and making the video not working properly.
I thought it to be a Shockwave Player plug-in crash and it was.
I am not able to watch videos like I would normally used to watch them.
However, not all videos have this problem.
I have made sure that the crash has happened to different browsers and not only one.
I cant uninstall the plug-in and when i try to update it, it says it has already been updated but the videos dont work still.
What should I do?Hi, thanks for the additional info. The terms can be confusing. Flash Player is different than Shockwave Player, they are two separate programs. The youtube site uses Flash Player, not Shockwave Player.
Adobe Flash Player when Installed, Installs the Shockwave Flash plugin into all non-Internet Explorer browsers. The Shockwave Flash plugin is not separate from Adobe Flash Player. It is part OF it and is the Control needed so that Flash Player works. Keep in mind that Flash Player is a browser plugin and works thru the browser.
Using FF, go back to that link I gave you and let me know if you can see the Flash Player logo animate(spin). Also what version of Flash Player is Displayed?
We'll get back to the hardware acceleration feature after you reply back with the above info.

Help with Shockwave player reinstall
I recently updated my system (PC, Windows 7, updated to IE 11), and the shockwave player needed to be updated. Tried to do that, but won't work. My system is 64 bit, but the IE 11 running is 32 bit version. Tried numerous ways to update, then I removed and tried to install new, but it still won't work. Help!
BTW, it also messed with my Adobe Reader within some programs, and I had to install a new one, which seemed to work okay.
I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro installed on this laptop.Sorry. you can see I am not familiar with forums.
Here are the screen shots. Though it said installation was successful, and the program is listed in my programs in the control panel, something seems to be preventing it from working. I have used shockwave player many times before, and my computer has had no problem with updates for shockwave player in the past. It was only after I updated other programs on this computer that it wouldn't work. -

You download the installer (http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe) and save it to disk, then close all Internet Explorer windows and run the downloaded installer.

Uninstall Adobe Shockwave Player 11.0
While upgrading from Windows Vista - Windows 7, I run windows7 upgrade advisor to check the compatibility as suggested by Microsoft. The report shows following issue.

I updated the latest version from the above link suggest by Advisor, but still the same issue was showing. Closing looking the latest version of Adobe Shockwave Player is 11.5 and the issue was showing for version 11.0. Looking further, for all the programs installed in Control Panel - Programs, I found my system have both Adobe Shockwave player (11.0 & 11.5). When I use Shockwave Player Uninstaller (sw_uninstaller.exe) this uninstall only new version (11.5) and old version remains without logo.
Please help to uninstall Adobe Shockwave Player version 11.0.Should have looked through this forum a little closer:

I used the installation program for ShockWave 11.0 with the uninstall switch and this did uninstall it.
Since I am using an SCCM package to deploy the uninstall of SW 11.0 and the install of SW 11.5.6.606,
I used this line in my Installer package:
Execute msiexec /uninstall "Path\SWInstallFileName.msi" /quiet (Wait)
I had to rename the SW 11.0 installation filename since it was the same as the SW 11.5.6.606 installation filename
and I needed to use both .MSIs in my package.
This does not explain why the sw_uninstaller.exe provided by Adobe is not working though.
It would be nice to have an explanation and get this problem corrected so we can use sw_uninstaller.exe. -
Shockwave Player Backward Compatibility
Overview: Our Web Application uses Shockwave player to play DCR movies. At the end of the Movie, an event is raised by DCR movie which will be captured by VB Script functions in webpage. This event will be used to identify if the Movie has completed. This is very crustal information for our Application.
We have been using this method to capture the Movie end events in our application for over a decade.
Issue:
In the latest version of Shockwave Player V 12.0.7.148, VBScript is not able to capture the DCR movie end event in Internet Explorer 9 and 10 Compatibility mode.
If we use Shockwave Player V12.0.4.144 , VB Script is able to capture the DCR movie end event in IE 9 and 10 Compatibility mode.
Details:
The following “Lingo Script” is placed at the end of the page (Director Movie), which will generate an external event and can be captured by JavaScript (for getting the page completion status).

Shockwave player error asks to use Safari 32 bit
I was clearing out my cookies under Safari preferences today and when I highlight a cookie I want to remove from the list and click REMOVE, a window opens that says I have a Shockwave Player error and that I need to reopen Safari in 32-bit mode.
QUESTION: Why is this happening, has anyone else had this issue? Also, what are the advantages or disadvantages of 64/32 bit modes on Safari? Is there a Shockwave that runs in 64-bit mode?
Thanks for any input!!I was having the same problem after updating to the Safari 5.1.2 and noticed, also, that the cookies wren't really clearing... after opening preferences again (after clearing them), there would be a few that would be added back.
I think it's all related to a cookie issue that started with the safari update.
I went back to Safari 5.05 using Pacifier as it wouldn't install under Leopard 10.6.8 which I am running. -

was installing. The error states "Could not load the DLL library
C:\WINNT\system32\Kernel32.dll (GetSystemWow64DirectoryA). The
specified procedure could not be found." Now, I have just installed
Shockwave the day before on this very same computer with everything
the same on it. I had to reformat my hardrive and reinstall
Windows, but again, I did the reformat and reinstall couple times
before and installed Shockwave Player without having run into this
problem. I'd like anyone to suggest what the problem might be and
help me resolve it.Well, Adobe obviously has done all their versions of
Shockwave Player to not support Win2k any more, because it was just
last week I was able to visit sites that requires Shockwave Player
without getting the DDL error. Now, I'm not able to either install
