Unable to use trial version of inDesign

I just signed up to use the trial version of inDesign, with a new adobe id. It tells me i'm maxed out on the subscription and to use another id. This is a new id, i sign in and it asks for a serial number which i don't have. It tells me i'm on 2 other computers but it's a new id so i'm not sure why it thinks that way.
I'm so frustrated, i've chatted 2x with customer service, one of the told me he had no clue and come back later. The other one said, just purchase the sub. This really defeats the purpose of a trial, since i've never used inDesign and wanted to see if it would be easy to use. I'm also now scared to pay a 1 month fee to try and spend 3 days trying to log in. I've looked in the forums for help, used downloaded cleaner and uninstalled. I was excited about playing with the CS on the cloud, but know i'm just frustrated. Wouldn't a 30 day comp sub solve the problem, which if it works i would commit for the year, i suggested it to the CS chat, and no answer.....
HELP?

The 30 day trial of InDesign CS6 should only correspond to InDesign seeing that you've already had it installed on your computer and have used it for 30 days already, not the Adobe ID you're installing it with. Is it possible that you've already tried it a year ago when it was originally released?

After I had downloaded Lightroom 4 trial version, I realized I am still using a Window's xp OS and Lr4 requires vista or newer. I am very disapointed as I had been very excited about getting a chance to play with the software. Will I be able to still get a trial version to try once I update this system? Or did my trial period begin once I downloaded it even though I can't install it to use? In the mean time, is there another photo editing product or older version that will work with xp?

Yes the trial period does not begin until you install the software.

Industry standard files such as JPEG are compatible with many brands/versions of programs
Proprietary files such as those created by InDesign are often not backwards compatible, due to new features in newer program versions
This is not unique to Adobe... MS Word DOCX files are not backwards compatible with earlier versions of MS Word

Opening and using free trial version of indesign

I downloaded the free trial version of indesign but it only downloaded creative cloud set up. It told me that indesign would instantly download but I cannot find it, access it or use it. I am in a serious hurry and only have a few hours left of a deadline to edit a document. I really need help on this

How do I reinstall the trial version of Indesign

I just downloaded the trial version of Indesign.
While using the programme, Indesign quitted several times after a few minutes. Therefore, I uninstalled the programme assuming I could reinstall it again.
However, when I try to download the trial version again, there is no option for clicking download. In the download centre it says that Indesign is up-to-date.
What can I do in order to download the trial version again?

Exporting a pdf from a pc trial version of InDesign

I cannot get my PC trial version of InDesign CS6 to export a pdf for proofing. Is this capability included in the trial version?

I just joined the cloud so my version is now authorized and I'm having the same problem.
I've used a mac for decades and exporting as I do in CS4
I'm going file >export > giving my file name (it added the .pdf as usual) >choosing where it will go then pressing enter.
a box pops up and says "Background tasks:" 1 problem (1 failure) was associated with this task: failure to export.
I also tried exporting to the INDL format, and printing from my mac CS4 and it fails to print there as well.

I am trying to download a trial version of InDesign CS6 but cannot find where to download it. The only option I find is InDesign CC, which I have no interest whatsoever. Does Adobe offer the CS version as a trial?
I need the trial version for Windows 8.1.

I am trying to download a trial version of InDesign...

..but the Adobe Download Assistant doesn't give InDesign as one of the products to chose from. Is there another Launch Application I should use and where can I find it?

Oh and I am trying to download a trial version of InDesign though the Adobe website. I am logged in as a member. When I click on Download trial a Launch Application box comes up and say that the link needs to be opened with an application. The logical one is Adobe Download Assistant, but when that opens InDesign is not offered for download - just things like Photoshop Elements and Acrobat Pro

Got a couple of projects i wanted to try this on and if the software works I will probably take a subscription but considering this isn't working at all will look elsewhere.
Also - adobe live chat support is useless.

Downloaded and installed trial version of InDesign CS6 (three days left on trial)
Purchased Creative Cloud two days ago
Downloaded and installed Photoshop CS6 (loads as a trial version)
When clicking on Registration number, get error message “not connected to Internet”
Live chat instructed to uninstall both InDesign and Photoshop and download again.

Next day phone rep spent ½ hour trying to get it to work. Said it would all work and helped me re-purchase Cloud – received email confirmation.
Phone rep passed me on to someone who was supposed to give me a registration number. Spent another ½ hour doing the exact same thing. Was told there are no registration numbers in Cloud. Wanted to pass me off to another support department – I declined.
Received email today:
