Unable to use YouTube or access certain websites

My wireless network is working fine - my laptop shows an excellent signal right next to the iPhone.
BUT my iPhone is unable to either access the YouTube server or, if it can, then selected movies keep stopping after a few seconds.
Likewise internet access is intermittent, and certain websites will not load properly.
I have tried a complete reset of network settings - and the iPhone is showing 3 bars, and all the DHCP settings are showing (IP address etc), nut download problems continue.
Any suggestions?

Since this is occurring on multiple networks, Try some of the steps below that may assist you.

*Clear History 2 times
*Clear Cache 2 times
*Clear Cookies 2 times
-Turn the following off then back on
*Java Script

  • Unable to access certain websites and game servers when using E1500

I've been having a strange intermitent problem with my E1500 wireless router.  When we first bought and installed it everything was working well with no known problems.  After several months no one using the router was able to access certain websites as well as a game server that we play on.  No one had made any changes to the router settings and I assumed at first that it was an ISP problem.  After talking with our ISP tech support they finally suggested plugging my PC directly into the modem rather then the router.  I did and found that the websites and servers that previously wouldn't connect while using the router were now reachable.  As I said not myself or anyone else had made any changes to the router settings since installation.  I decided that just in case someone unauthorized had made changes to simply revert the router to factory settings and reinstall the software.  After doing this I found that I could again reach the websites and servers that I previously could not.  So time went on with no problems until a few months later when the same websites and servers were again unreachable by anyone on our router.  I again reset the router to factory settings and changed passwords as a precaution, but this time the websites and servers were unreachable even though I had just reset the router.  I'm a little confounded as to what could possibly be causing this.  I have had family and friends who live elsewhere use the websites and servers during all of my troubles, so I'm certain that they were not simply down.  I'd greatly appreciate any and all help.
A few of the places that are unreachable to me are as follows:

Perhaps, you could flash or update the firmware to the latest. Reset and reconfigure the router. You can download firmware here http://support.linksys.com/en-us/support/routers/E1500.

  • HT1338 unable to access certain websites

Unable to access certain websites using safari browser.  any ideas!!!!

One of the first things you want to try is if you can get to these same sites on TMG itself. Create an Access rule that allows HTTP and HTTPS from Localhost (TMGs network adapter) to Anywhere (it's under Computer Sets). Apply it and then make sure that IE
is not set to use anything for a proxy. Clear all the boxes. Can you browse these sites? If not then your proxy clients will not be able to. Open a command prompt and use nslookup to see if TMG is resolving the sites. Remember that proxy clients rely on TMG
to do the name resolution for them. If it is not working then you will have a problem.

  • I am on iphone 4, iOS7.0.4, not able to access certain websites.

The weird thing is I could yesterday morning. Now I am unable to. I can access all those sites from my laptop (not a Mac). Tried out all the suggestions I found here as well but to no avail.
    1. Settings > Wi-fi > selected my wifi and Forgot this Network.
    2. Reboot my phone my pressing my home button and sleep button.
    3. Went back to Settings > Wi-fi > reselected my Home wifi > re-entered the passcode.
    4. Still could not access certain websites (for instance this!) and apps like Whatsapp, Viber and certain websites on Safari.

  • Cannot access certain websites (in particular the ...

I have had an ongoing issue where I am unable to access certain websites on my BT broadband connection.
    Example sites include:
    rsjoomla
    Dell
I know the problem is not my PC, software firewall or router/hub.  If use a free proxy service on the internet that hides my BT Broadband IP address I can access these sites.
I am an IT Manager who is knowledgeable on networks, firewalls etc so I don't want to have to go through basic troubleshooting steps on my computer or hub.  It affects all systems connected to my home broadband and when I take my laptops and tablets to other networks I can access these sites.
    Can anyone help me here?
    Thanks
    Ross

    Hi mcintyro,
Can you please do a nslookup and a tracert (traceroute) for both rsjoomla and dell
Also do you have BT Retail's (Consumer) network parental controls on? You can check by going to your MyBT.
If the network parental controls are on or active (but not configured) then you need to make sure you are using the HomeHub's/routers' DNS address.
    Thanks

The characters change depending on the website. I've tried disabling all extensions and plugins, reinstalling firefox and reinstalling java to no avail. The issue seems to be isolated to firefox, chrome is able to display the webpages without a problem. The problem occures following a malware in infection which would redirect goolgle searches in firefox. It was dealt with using Malwarebytes Anti-malware and by removing some entries from C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file.

    Hi,
I tried everything above but to no avail. Windows firewall seemed to be allowing Firefox through without it actually being in the exception list. However, I did remove Firefox but this time removing all profile data too. Reinstalling Firefox seemed to make the websites work. However I then restored my bookmarks, and suddenly the websites stopped functioning again, displaying the random string of characters. Could this be an issue with my bookmarks?

  • Cannot access certain websites?

I have troubling accessing certain websites on my Mac. I started using them about 4 days ago and it was all fine until yesterday I try to open them and they don't work. I know I didn't change anything with my wi-fi or anything like that. My wi-fi works just fine because my other sites with other stuff work fine.  I asked my frined if he could access them from his computer and it works for him. I've tried different browsers such as safari, chrome, firefox but they all give me the same message  "the connection was reset". I can access the websites through proxywebrowsing. com, but I can't use certain features
At this point I don't know what to do. I've tried to google for a solution but they all were confusing to me and just didn't work. I think from what I undnerstand i have to change something in my network settings, but how and what am I supposed to do there? I am a newby when it comes to fixing network, so if you have a suggestion in trying to change something please tell me how to get there. Please Help. Thanks!

Thanks for helping me figure out how to turn off ipv6 on Mountain Lion, but it doesn't change anything. I don't know like I've stated in my description I was able to access the site just 2 days ago and I didn't change anything. Also why can I access the site from sites like proxybrowsing.com but not my own web browser,
Sorry, I have never had to fix a problem like this, so I am obviously really new and not understanding.

  • TS1398 I am having trouble accessing certain websites on my ipad2

I am having trouble accessing certain websites on my ipad2 which I used to be able to access. all I get is a white/blank screen. One site is www.fodors.com. another is http://www.baseballhq.com/members/. Any suggestions?

I have no trouble with them. Try this and see if resolves the issue,
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't help, quit Safari and then relaunch it.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
If that doesn't help, try this.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • I receive secure connection failure if I try accessing certain websites

I have been trying to access certain websites and I keep getting secure connection failure for about a week now. When I try using other browsers they don't work either. I tried most of the troubleshooting methods mention here but its still persists. Below are the screenshots of the message I receive and the browser console error message.

  • T400s and T500 experiencing slow response time accessing certain websites from within our network

Hello there.... we have some Lenovo T400s running Windows 7 and T500 running WinXP Pro that are experiencing slow response time when trying to access certain website from within our company network (particularly this global crossing Web meeting, google maps): https://core1.callinfo.com/interface/guest.jsp?host=globalcrossing ... it takes 10-15 minutes before it loads the meeting login screen and same response time for google maps to respond as well... the thing is, other Lenovo T400s, T61, and other HP desktop machines that are connected to the same network in our company does not experience this slow response time... HOWEVER, when these problematic T400s / T500 laptops are connected to external network (e.g. home DSL, hotel DSL/Cable modem) the problem goes away.   Our NETWORK ran tests to monitor traffic to the websites from our company's network but seem to connect just fine... just wondering if anybody out there experienced the same problem and know of a solution.  By the way, the two newer T400s that are experiencing the slow response time have the following BIOS version 1.11 (6HET26WW) and BIOS version 1.09 (6HET24WW).  Then a T400s that is also connected to the same network but not experiencing the problem has a BIOS version of 1.02 (6HET17WW - running WinXP Pro).   NOTE: We also connected a Linksys USB wireless adapter to connect to our wireless network in the company but same problem - and problem occurs even when connected via network cable.  Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Network World posted an article about a free response time monitoring tool that would be worth checking out

    Hi, I'm having problems accessing certain websites. Certain websites are giving me the following error (in Firefox);
    "Connection Interrupted
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."
I get similar errors in the other browsers. I tried connecting to them via a proxy and it works. I also asked a friend to try and they work for him on Virgin, so definitely seems to be a problem with my connection.
I also got that error intermittently while browsing the forum here. One of the websites I can't access is mine, so it's getting annoying not being able to do stuff I usually do.
I have turned off/unplugged my home hub, but that didn't help.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Cannot Access Certain Websites from MBP

I've tried setting DNS to 8.8.8.8 as well as connecting via Ethernet as well as with my wireless broadband dongle, and still no luck. In fact, when I connect my dongle my internet connection goes even worse and I can hardly load any websites at all!
It's just certain websites in particular that won't load, however they load fine on other devices (e.g. my iPhone) even when they're connected to the same network.
Also I've tried removing my 'Wi-Fi' location under Sys Prefs and adding it again.
I can access all my usual sites with no issues (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube etc, all the big ones) it's just the occasional small scale website. I'm a web designer you see and it keeps happening on websites that I am working on.
And before you ask, these websites have all been hosted on different servers, it's happened on a total of 3 so far. All within the last couple of weeks.
I've noticed tonight that this particular client's 3 websites are all hosted on the same server as he has a reseller account and I can't load any of them on my MBP. However other devices load them fine and my MBP can still load other websites.
I've also tested by loading the websites in Adobe Browserlab and they load fine through that.
Also I've tried rebooting my router and the other thing I use to make the network 'wireless' (I forget what it's called, I'm not the hardware type as I'm sure you've guessed).
It's as if there's something about these websites that my MBP really doesn't like. However that's not to say it NEVER loads them, the problem seems intermittent.
I was loading this client's websites fine tonight right up until about an hour ago when they just seemed to cut out altogether. But as I say, other devices load them fine.
Any ideas what I can do to fix it? This is very annoying as it is preventing me from simply doing my job.

I found the soluion after more googling here.
