Unable to validate email

Help please.  I have a Curve 8520 and have been trying to download new apps.  When I enter my password I get the message 'unable to validate email address and password'.  If I select 'forgot password'   I get the message 'Blackberry is having trouble connecting to ... server.  Verify your network connections and try again - error 30637'. Have checked my email settings and these seem ok and I am receiving email on the Blackberry on the same email account.  I am probably missing something really obvious here but can someone put me out of my misery?

    Try doing it online.  From your PC browser, go to www.telstra.blackberry.com .  Once there, create a username and password combo then try validating your email account from there.  If you have difficulties, try www.blackberry.com/integrate from your phone's browser.

    It's a phishing attempt to get your account id and password, the 'validate' link on that page isn't an Apple website (there are similar phishing attempts regularly posted on here) - you could forward the email to Apple : [email protected]

    Only got my Blackberry 1 day ago and already I could throw it through the window.  I've tired and I've tired and still I get this message when I'm trying to download apps unable to validate the email addres and password combination.  I've asked for a new password over and over, even through I know the password I was putting in was correct.  I've deleted my account and re-opened up another and it still does it.  It keeps asking me to 'I agree' with terms and I keep agreeing and it still ask.  I've sent a email to the help desk, and I've not heard anything apart from an auto-response.
    I so want to be able to download the Apps, I want to be able to say 'hey, look what app, I've got' and it won't let me. 
    I SO NEED SOMEONES HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

    be very careful with capital letters and numbers on the BlackBerry.  I had trouble with that when I first got mine..

    You may be able to use Regular Expressions instead, if you do a search in this forum for 'regex' you should find a few hits.
    While I agree that using a regular expression is a great way to verify that the user has entered an email address that conforms to the regular expression rules, it is still nothing more than that....conforming to the regular express rules.
    The only way to 100% confirm that an email address is 'valid', is to actually send an email to it, so what I tend to do is to get the user to enter their email twice (in a user registration screen for example), that way you can minimize the chance of 'typos', then send out a 'verification email' that the user has to click a link on to verify they have received it (I'm sure you've seen this type of system before), only when the confirmation is received would I then make the account 'active'.

  • Droid Incredible Unable to Send Email

    I just got the DI and I cannot get it to send e-mail (it receives e-mail fine) on 2 different POP3/SMTP accounts.  I have verified the settings for each account, comparing it to what the same account in Outlook (which works fine), so I know the settings are correct.  I have tried deleting the accounts from the DI several times and have tried removing the battery and rebooting the phone.  Nothing has worked this far.
    Any suggestions?

    The providers are 2 different Exchange servers from 2 different businesses that I do work with. 
    What settings are typically different when using a mobile device?  I have matched the settings that I have in Outlook as far as the server name, port, username, password and requiring authentication.  I am coming over from a BB device where I just put in e-mail account and password and everything worked.
    Since I can receive OK, I am assuming that something is wrong on the SMTP side of things.  When going through the settings on the DI, all of them appear to validate successfully but then when I try to send something I get the "Unable to send email" notification.

    I cannot purchase music on my new mac until I answer the security questions which I have forgotten the answers to. I went to change them through the little link you click on where it sends an email to the rescue email. I recieve the email with a link, I then click on it and a login pops up and when I type in my ID it says "We are unable to validate you as we do not have your validation information." How can I fix this?

    I have the same issue.
    I can't login into appleID as by password is not recognized.
    And I can't renew password as when I provide my birthdate - it show "Unable to validate you as we do not have your validation information"!
    What should I do?

    About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone.  Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc.  This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

    Recently, I have become unable to send emails from my comcast email account.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the account, but get an error (Cannot send.     Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.   • Unable to send email from my server to internet mail address. Labview.

    I have had great success sending mail when I SMTP to the actual mail server that the email address is on. But when I try to send from my server to some other email address I get an unable to relay "email address" server response. If someone has any ideas on this I would appreciate it. I have included some information that may aid in this endeavor. (I do not want to use Active X thanks to Outlook's dislike of that)

    I agree, it is ususual for an SMTP server to check the validity of the reverse-path address, because mailers could just use a invalid address on a valid domain, e.g. [email protected] The address in the "MAIL FROM:" command gives the reverse path to communicate errors and can be different from the actual sender address.
    In any case, this is quite irrelevant for the current discussion, because address verification has nothing to do with relaying.
    The error message:
    550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [email protected]
    is completely unrelated to your:
    450 Unable to find nowhere.com
    Just to clarify, I was talking about address in the FROM: field of the message header, and not what is
    communicated in the "MAIL FROM:" SMTP command. (Similarly, the TO: field in the header is not used for message targeting and can be anything, it can even be missing and the SMTP server still does not care. Targeting is done entirely with the RCPT TO: SMTP command which not contained in the header (the mail header is part of the message DATA). Refer to RFC 821 for further details.
    You probably won't find a legitimate SMTP server that allows relaying, so the solution is to use the designated SMTP server for the particular location.
