Unable to validate XML form

I have a simple CF Form, and I can't get the validation to
throw an error prior to submitting. I'm pretty sure it is correct.
Can someone tell me if it is a problem with my server...

i have installed ADS sp 14 and j2ee engine is on sp15.

Still the issue is pending,
We also had one guy from SAP to look into this but no help as of now.
SAP says this is a known issue and will solve it but no help as yet.
We are installing our prd server now and will see if it helps.
Please update me also if u get any information or u crack it.

Unable to preview - XML Forms builder

Hello gurus,
please forgive the silly question as I'm completely a newbie on the argument.
I'm trying to implement a news iview in Portal; I found an exaustive and intesting How-to guide that designs exactly my scenario:
How to Create XML Forms (NW2004)
However, I tried to start from the existing SAP_DemoNews project doing some little modifications in order to include a society logo.
So, I opened SAP_DemoNews project and did a Save as... to MyTemplateNews project.
However, even though the project seems correct as there are no errors in the generate() phase, I cannot see a preview of any module as the windows which is opened contains the following message:
XML - Forms
Item /documents/xmlforms/xfbuilder/preview/MyTemplateNews.xml does not exist
I guess there's something wrong with paths and configuration, but didn't found any reference searching the forum; could anyone provide me an help to work with previews?

But for Show it should work, and you said it does for standard forms delivered by SAP!?
For the default trace, you can use the log viewer in VisualAdmin (7.0) or the log viewer in NWA (7.0/7.3). Hi Cesar,
when creating the XML Form, you can drag and drop the KM Properties "Valid From" and "Valid Until" from the left pane "Data Model" -> "Properties" -> "Lifetime" on your form.
Don't forget to activate the tbp (time-based publishing) service on the used repository and also to "Enable Time-Dependent Publishing" on every folder where you want to use the forms (from the folder menu "Details" -> "Settings" -> "Lifetime".

In XMl form builder open your project and in right hand corner property and value table there is a property called mandatory associated with fields just make it yes. and regenerate the project please don,t forget to give points

Unable to edit the content of an XML form

Hello Experts,
I am facing a weird issue after updating my XML form.
Earlier scenario :
We were displaying only the Title of the news along with the content.
New scenario :
We had to display image also along with the title and content of the news.
Changes i did :
I have updated my XML form with adding an Image UI in the XML form.
Issue :
After adding the image UI and generating the project in the content part it is giving a message as in the image below.
Due to this message as "Loading content please wait" i am not able to save the content of the news due to which i am getting dump on the screen.
Please help.
Its an urgent issue.

Is the portal 7.3? can you let us know the version? Trigger 5-6 thread dumps with 30 secs interval each for your server when you reproduce the issue.

Is is possible to validate a form in a workflow?

I have an .xdp form and .xml file with some data. Using renderPDFForm2 Operation I convert these two files into the pdf document. All this happans in a workflow/process, which is used by some external system. And after convertation a system receives the result pdf document.
So, the question: is it possible to validate pdf document in a workflow? For example, my validation script in a form contains some code for checking if a client age is above 18 y.o. So, if the input data contains client age = 17, i want to return to the system some sort of error, but not the resulting pdf.
An ideal solution which i want to find is some way to validate pdf form without dublicating validation code. Cause i have an idea how to check the age, using variables and expresions in a process. But in that case i'll have this validation both in pdf document (for example, to prevent users from printing not valid pdfs) and in a workflow.

I have a validation script for PDF forms, you can use this script to validate the whole form to verify if any field returns null. This script is only to check if all fields are filled in. There is an exception array which you can insert field's names which you don't want it to be validated. You can then make your own validation for those fields included in the exception array.
So as an example, if your field age is named : txtAge
you would insert the name txtAge in the exception array:

We are working on E.P 7.0 SP 10 and we've recently applied SP 13 and started testing the system.
What we found on XML Form Builder is, we are unable to add schema (under Data Model) to the project.

i think, i have faced the same problem recently.
I had the problem that i saw the 3 categorys: namespace,data schema and properties.
But i couldn't open them by clicking on them. This is also your problem?
What i did with lots of hours of testing.
1.Once you have managed to add something to the data schema you are fine. Then it will always be opened. ( Try opening an existing project and you will see that.)
So you could open an old project and modify this.
2. It is still possible to open the Data Schema. I don't know where to click exactly but i click like 100s of times on the symbol of Data Schema and with a little bit of luck it opens. If it doesn't work, i restart the Forms Builder and i try again.

XML Form Builder-How to access data saved from a form?

Hi All,
I created a form in XML Form Builder. This form include checkboxes and input fields.
Also i include a Save button.
I used this form in a iView.
Many users will access this iView and save their input data.
So, after the user Save this data, in the KM folder , is created a XML form where i can see the inputed data.
So for every user's Save is created a XML form .
The question is,
how can i collect all these data for each created XML form, so as i can process them?
Please i will appreciate if anybody has any documentation or can give me step-by step instruction .

You can directly use query in form personalization Conditions like
select date_probation_end from per_assignments_x where person_id = :PERIOD_OF_SERVICE.PERSON_ID
and put in your condition like if you want to validate Probation end date is less then sysdate then in condition put in like.
TRUNC(SYSDATE) < (select TRUNC(date_probation_end) from per_assignments_x where person_id = :PERIOD_OF_SERVICE.PERSON_ID)
set the error message.

Xml form builder- DataSchema not expanding

Hi Experts,
I am facing a strange issue in XML form builder.
When i am trying to expand DataSchema root node by clicking on the + sysmbol. It is not expanding.
Is there any particular setting or what for this. I have tried this many time but unable to expand data Scheme and not able to create any nodes under DataSchema.
Please help me in resolving this issue.

Immediately after opening the XML forms editor from the Content Manager page, you will get a link Start Environment Check Tool.... Click on that and proceed for a check. It will take some 5-10 mins based on your connection speed.If every thing is successful, clear the browser cache and restart the browser and open forms editor again. It will open the data schema and properties filed and project browser and all.
I was having this problem just now and i resolved it with the above steps.
My JRE version is 1.6 and portal is EP 7 SPS 21 patched.

X509 message level authentication - Unable to validate identity assertions

I am creating a proxy service that will authenticate a soap request with incoming x509 certificate.
I configured weblogic server following the below blog post

In my proxy service I am using pre-defined policy "Auth.xml"

I am running the proxy service from test console. I have a security provider created pointing the keystore and selected while running the proxy service from test console ( no user name/password provided)
I was expecting that proxy service will read the security token and map the CN name correspons to the security token key (my default User name mapper attribute is CN) to an user created in weblogic server and able to authenticate it.
But I am getting following error. Please suggest.

Adobe LiveCycle Dynamic XML forms & Apple iPad

Are Adobe LiveCycle Dynamic XML forms viewable/useable by Apple iPad and Apple phone or other mobile devices?

According to Adobe, you can with LiveCycle ES4. At least, that's how I read their blog post on ES4 Mobile forms support.
Of course, there have been several discussions started about this in the Adobe forums.

XML Forms save action modification

Hi All,
I have an xml forms application which i have integrated in an Iview. On click of a link this iview should be opened in the same browser replacing the existing content. However wen I click Save or Cancel the browser also closes when I actuually need to redirect it to show another iview in the content area.
How can I achieve this in xml forms? I think Save and Cancel have a standard code that allows the browser to close somewhere and I am unable to change it.
Can anyone help?

No, the idea about this counter is for example i have a list of FAQ's:
1. First Faq
2. Second Faq
3. Third Faq
I want to put automatically the number of the FAQ before the question.
For example if i remove "Second Faq" the list should be like this:
1. First Faq
2. Third Faq.
Now i'm using javascript to do it.

How can I manipulate structure tags in LiveCycle XML form

Have a form that was created in LiveCycle by another company.
Need to make it a flat, tagged, PDF, i.e., to look like the form but not have actual fields.
It has structure tags, but they're not acceptable, and in Acrobat I'm unable to manipulate them.
When I go to LiveCycle and look at PDF Structure tags, it just has this message: "PDF Structure can only be used in PDF forms that contain artwork."
When I try to optimize the form fields away in Acrobat, it says "This PDF document contains an Adobe XML form. Such files cannot be optimized"
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Had to keep moving with this, hopefully someone will come up with a better solution, here's how I got a flat PDF: saved the form as encapsulated postscript, then in Windows Explorer right-clicked on the *.eps files and converted to PDF ... had to delete the useless tags that were created during that process, retagging manually ... but it's giving me what I need. I was surprised at no loss of resolution, and all the text is taggable.
