Unable to verify a new phone number (Error 6)

Hey,
Im trying to add a new phone number to my Skype account, but for whatever reason im not able to add the and verify my new number, all i get is an error 6.. can any help?
I have already tried with/without +66 and 0066, same problem.

I'm trying to add a number that appears when sending an SMS via skype but I get a message saying "SMS_FAILUREREASON_error 6". This is for a UK number. Anyone from Skype out there to help?!
I see many people who've expressed this issue above, yet it seems nobody has tried to resolve it. What is the point of this forum then? How else can we report the problem and get it resolved -anyone know??

I recently replaced my lost iPhone but in the process, had to switch carriers and activate a new phone number. I backed the new phone up from iCloud which was still attached to the old number (for example, when I attempt to sync Keychains, the security code continues to be sent to the old number). I'm looking to update my iCloud account with the new phone number so I can sync my devices and any I might get in the future. Help! Please!

Where is the phone number on the iPod?
If you have an iPhone with iOS and use the same ID for Messages and FaceTime as on the iPod the iPhone's phone number will be listed for Messages and FaceTime on the iPod.
If you changed phone numbers on the iPhone, sign out of Messages and FaceTime and then sing back in. Then do the same a little while later on the iPod.

That's normal behavior as the old one will remain in the memory cache for a while until it's eventually overwritten. If it's particularly bothersome to you, you can restore your phone as NEW and this will empty the cache.

I just got my phone and I'm adding in my contact manually. I don't see multiple spots for multiple phone numbers for one person? Do I have add a new contact for each phone number a person has? (I.e. One for their home number, one for their work number, one for their cell number).

No.
There is no reason to have a default number of phone number entries that may not all be used and the same for email addresses.
When manually entering contact info, after entering the first number for a contact, a new phone number entry is made available directly below.

If I get this right, you've ported your phone number to AT&T with the purchase of the iPhone. That is considered opening your own account under your name. Your brother's account is not ported to AT&T unless you used his SS# instead of yours. Your brother still has his account under Verizon Wireless, all you did was use your cell phone number to when you opened your own AT&T account.
If you don't want to use your Verizon Wireless phone #, my suggestion is to call AT&T customer service and explain that you want a new phone number instead of the ported Verizon number.

I have a new phone number and am having trouble getting the new number to appear on my iPhone 4S under the Messages/Settings.
Even though the old number has been deactivated, messages are still being sent/received by the old number.
It's been approximately 72 hours since the new number went into effect. How do I get this to update?

For me this method did not work.
However as you can see from the other posts for some people it does.
There is not really enough info to determine what was different about those that worked.

Adding new phone number to contacts in address book on IOS4

Has anyone else come across those bug? When I try and press the add symbol to add a new phone number or extra number ie. Home or work as the default in new contact is mobile, the + symbol doesn't respond.
So infuriating for such an essential app. For the most my upgrade is ok although a few apps now don't open.

I see a number if the number of cards in the group more than fills the page. However, if there are blank lines on the page, there is no number.

The phone number of one particular sales office was changed this week. Now the customer is asking to change the old phone number printed in one of the invoice created last month to new telephone number. How do we do it? Shall I cancel the invoice and recreate so that the new phone number gets picked from Sales Office address? or any other method pls

I dont think you need recreate the invoice again.if you are maintaining PH number in sales office addres than it would be automatically picked new one once you give print from issue output to.
for more you may take ABAPes help to check or confirm from where phone number is getting picked in form.

Open Messages on your Mac, then go to Messages>Preferences, select Accounts, select your iCloud account, then click Sign Out. Then sign back in with the ID your phone is using for iMessage.

Unable to text to a phone number not in contacts

On my Z10 I'm unable to text to a phone number unless I first add it to my contacts and attempting to do so causes the software to crash. I text numbers that I don't necesarilly want to add to my contact list so any fix for that?

I've even deleted him from my contacts and my hotmail contacts, resynced my hotmail contacts, then added my husband as a new contact. Both of his phones were iPhones but his previous carrier was Verizon and his new carrier is Viaero. I'm still on Verizon.

I've fixed my own problem.
In the end, the issue was with iMessage on the other phone, not mine.
While I had it connected to iTunes (the other phone, not mine), I could see that iTunes thought it was the temporary number (07429...). I turned iMessage off and back on again and the phone number in iTunes changed to the old (i.e correct) number (07903...).
Subsequently, texts from my phone to the other phone showed up as blue-bubbled iMessages.

I did call them. They said once the phone service is disconnected, there's nothing they can do about it. The thing is that when I called them to cancel the U-verse service yesterday, they did not offer me the opportunity to update the new phone #. This is so frustrating!
