Unable to verify account name and password
I cant seem to integrate my twitter account on my macbook, when i try to login it says "unable to verify account name and password".
Help Please???

Try this, it worked for me:
System Preferences --> Mail, Contacts, & Calendars --> Remove your Twitter account by clicking on the at the bottom of the left hand pane in the window.
Go to your Twitter account and under your Settings --> Apps, revoke access to OS X Integration and click 'Save'.
Return to your System Preferences where you removed your account and attempt to add the account again. After you enter your @username and password, attempt to use the app in the notification window.
It fixed the problem for me and even gave access to the OS X Integration back to my apps on my Twitter account.
Prior to this, the Mail, Contacts, & Calendars would tell me that it was 'Unable to verify account username and password'. Very frustrating.

As the title says.. I cannot login neither to facebook nor twitter on Mountain Lion.
Shutting down and restarting the MacBook doesn't work, as well as the time and date setting or Twitter/Facebook App preferences.

I can no longer make my AOL e mail work with Mac Mail on all my devices. When I try to set up the account and put in the correct aol account and password I get the message "Unable to verify account name or password". I know the account name and password is correct as I can open the AOL e mail page on Safari. I have changed the password, and it still does not work. AOL tech support has been no help. AOL email worked for years but last week due to suspected spam activity AOL locked my AOL account. I got that straightened out but now i cannot set it up on any of my devices: Macbook Air, Ipad, I pad mini and iPhone 6 without that message. I took everything to Apple store and everything is set up correctly on my devices. AOL tech support is no help and keeps giving me different solutions and answers, none of which has worked. Any solutions out there? All my Apple Software is up to date on all my devices
Delete your Gmail account from the Mail/Contacts/Calendars settings page, and then add it back in using the new Gmail password.

Hi guys, I struggle to configure my gmail account in 'System Preferences'.
In System Preferences I click on Mail, Contacts & Calendar, then on Gmail, type my name, gmail email address and gmail password and once I click on Set Up "Unable to verify account name or password" message appears on the bottom of the password window.
My account is second admin account in the system.
I configured my wife's gmail account in the same manner on her account on this computer and everything went fine.
Would anyone have a guess how to address this issue?
Cheers!Ok, I solved the problem. Just realized that I have all the security activated on my gmail account.
If you have similar issues with setting up you Gmail account on Mac you need to do the following in your gmail account setings:
1. In your gmail account go to Settings (cog wheel in the top right)
2. Go to Accounts and Imports tab
3. Go to Change account settings --> Other Google Account settings
4. Click on Security
5. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on 'Manage access':
6. Verify your password
7. In the field provided enter the name of your device (could be anything it's just for your information to know which of your devices are given full access to the gmail account)
8. Click on "Generate password"
9. Password will appear in the yellow field
10. Copy this password and paste it in the password field in your Mail, Contacts & Calendar in System Preferences.
11. This is one off password only used to grant an access to your gmail account by your device.
12. You need to use your standard gmail password from now on.
You're done and your gmail email is downloaded to Mac Mail! -

I recently installed Mountain Lion OS X (10.8 actually) and have been trying to configure my Twitter account to integrate it on my iMac, the problem is that when I type my Username and Password it won't let me add the specified account, it always appears the following message below the Username/Password fields: "Unable to verify the name or password of the account".
I know it may be that I type wrong my password or username, but I have checked and double-checked both password and Username and STILL get this message it has become rather annoying what does it mean? Do I have a problem with my privacy settings, firewall or something?...any help I would really aprecciate it,

Hi I am trying to set a appointment for the Genus bar on my computer. I know for a fact that my login is correct. I have used it to sign in here and make a apointment (had to do it on my phone). When I get to the appointment area it tells me to resign, and tells me "SORRY" Your lass session has expired. Pleae sign in using your apple id account name and password. I have a MAC computer with Sync. Was set up under sync Beta. I have an Android phone synced to it that was synced using the pair this device function. It works perfectly. I just got a new Android Tablet and am trying to add it to my sync and it does not seem to have the pair my device function. It insists I log into my sync account. So I try it and it tells me invalid userid/password. I verify and it is the exact email address userid that shows as being my sync account on the MAC. I verify the password on the MAC and it tests out fine. Try the tablet again and invalid.. So I try to reset my password on the tablet and am told my email address/account name does not exist. I just verified it AND Synced my MAC using it!! I have my recovery Key but there is no place to input it into the tablet. There is no place on tablet to enter the link device codes. How can my account be valid and in use on two devices but invalid and nonexistant on the new one? And How do I get the New one to sync with other two? -
I want to photo stream pix from my iMac to apple tv. When I try to enter the iCloud account name and password, the systems tells me that terms of service have changed and won't let me proceed. What's that about?
You need to reset the password for the "old" account, and then use that to turn off iCloud. Then you will be able to sign in with your new ID.
You can reset your password at iForgot.apple.com.
If you don't know the answers to the security questions, you will need to start there.

Hi. I am using a time capsule for few PC s. I have made 5 different account to access time capsule. but in windows when I enter account name and password for one account, i cannot access other accounts, because windows saves username. how can i prevent this from happenning. I really need to access all my accounts and dont want it to save automaticlly.
Why have 5 accounts if you need to access all of them.. just have one account?
Sorry I cannot follow why you would even use the PC to control the Time Capsule. Apple have not kept the Windows version of the utility up to date.. so they keep making it harder and harder to run windows with apple routers. -
I can't get my movies and tv shows on iPad now that I have added iCloud. The problem is that my iTunes account has different name and password from my mobile me account. Can I change my iTunes account name and password so that they will transfer to my iPad with the mobile me / iCloud account? I need to figure out how to make the two accounts one or iCloud has to be able to accept my iTunes account with years of music and movies.

I got the "wrong answer", so the next time I asked for an email authentication. I am still waiting. I don't know what the usual time for waiting normally is. I am still waiting for an email reply from three days ago. I'm not going to hold my breath. My ipad is out of warranty but I may have to beg for help from support? I'll wait awhile longer. Maybe there is another thing someone could come up with. I appreciate your fast reply Hunter.

I cannot connect to wifi using my MacBook, my phone and Xbox work but there is no prompt for the WPA password and when I go to the diagnostics page it prompts me to choose a certificate or enter an account name and password? What account name are they referring to? I have entered everything I could think of; the actual connection name and password, the Internet provider login email, my MacBook account name as password... What the heck. After I try, it says connecting for awhile, then fails...
Select the network from the Airport icon drop down in the menu. Then put in the password.

Dreamweaver Update forgets Account Names and Passwords?
This morning I did the Adobe updater thing and it snagged five applications, including Dreamweaver which I was working on.
I closed Dreamweaver and hit [Continue] and it finished. I'm now running Dreamweaver 11, Build 4916.
I re-launched Dreamweaver and made a few edits to the page I was working on and saved those, and got an FTP error.
A little snooping reveals that there is now no account name or password listed in my Site settings. And it's that way for EVERY site!
Okay, calm down... d e e p breaths... Let's re-import the Sites using the old .ste files, right? They were created with the selection to save account names and passwords, too. Point-point, click-click, building the new [2] site and... edit the page, save the changes and Boom! Ftp error, again.
How can I fix this, please?Thank you so much! I was afraid I was going to have to contact a dozen server administrators and recharge a dozen different passwords and then make sure that everyone up and down the line had the new ones, etc.

I am after having my XP operating system refreshed trying to regain access to numerous favorite bookmarks held on the internet server(s). I have tried sync'ing via the Firefox mechanism but it does not recognize my account name or password. It is possible I used another software other than Mozilla's to back up my Favorites in bookmarks. However, baring that, I cannot access all the data in order to reconnect to it.

You'll need to update Firefox on that Laptop to continue using Sync on it after updating your Sync account. -
I have a MAC with OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.2, 8GB, 2.7 GHz, intel core i5. Until 2 days ago, I could click on iTunes radio, pick my station and listen. Then 2 days ago, I do this and system asks for my iCloud account id and password. Does not recognize apple id or password. I change the password, does not save it. Screen that lists 2 step verification asks for added security questions, I do those and still will not allow me access. What do I do and where do I start? I thought I should download the update to OS X. I did that, still no change. Please help direct me to where I need to go to fix this problem.

Did you encrypt the iPad backup? If so, then trying to restore will require entering the encryption password.
