Unable to verify email in order to send via SMTP f...

Driving me nuts this one.
I just want to receive email notifications from my Synology NAS. So I know I need to verify the email address it is sending emails from in order to access the smtp server mail.btinternet.com.
The email address works correctly and receives email but when I try to verify the address my NAS sends from I get the following error: (#604,E2) You are trying to add an email address that has been blocked by the email address owner. Please enter a different email address.
I can add [email protected] or annoying@thedomainIregisteredjusttogetthisworking.​org
It accepts it, sends the email, I receive it no problem.
But will not send to [email protected], which is the email address the NAS uses.
Telephone support "cannot help me, ring home it support".

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Unfortunately an admin account on a personal domain does seem to be blocked, or just not work. A few of "us" have tried and although the blocking message doesn't always appear - no email is received for the admin account in order to verify it.
Clearly there is something that Yahoo! is doing to prevent it for any domain. I expect it's a mistake or a software programming issue.

    Okay I figured out my problem.  When you use the  "add another email" option in FaceTime (or iMessage now), it associates that email address with your Apple ID account that you logged in under.
    The Apple ID that I'm using for FaceTime isn't the same as the one iMessage defaulted to.  I didn't noticed that.  Once I switched iMessage to use my other Apple ID, it let me register.   What's odd though is that iMessage doesn't recognize my email address as valid when I try to send myself a test message.  When I logged out and into a different Apple ID, it did recognize it as registered though.  Odd.
    So Basically make sure the email address you are trying to register isn't listed as an alternate email address (or primary) on another Apple ID account.

    That means that someone (If not that you forget) already registered and Apple account with that e-mail, You need another New (Never Registered) e-mail in order to create another account.

    You need to select the "Manage My Account" link and not the "Reset Your Password" link.  Once you use the "Manage My Account" it will ask you to log in and in there you should see which email addresses are verified.

    I spoke with Apple Support this morning and they believe anything MobileMe related is due to the conversion over to iCloud that's taking place.
    As for other email clients, check with your host to see if settings have changed on their end. I use inmotionhosting.com and over the weekend the updated their outgoing requirements so that a password authentication is now needed.
    Hope that helps get some on the right path to resolving their issues!

    I've found the answer to this (at least for me)!
    The problem is I have 2 AppleIDs. One from before MobileMe which I use to make iTunes purchases (which is linked to my @me.com email) and the second is my MobileMe email address used for MobileMe syncing.
    Each AppleID has to be linked to a separate email address. Because my iTunes Apple ID is linked and verified to my @me.com address. My @me.com AppleID address can't be verified.....quite confusing at first but starts to make sense once you get your head around it!

    I just erased all data on my itouch, reseted it, and set up a new account on itunes to sync. But when I added my email to facetime and imessage, it said "Unable to verify email because it is already in use.". I don't know how to separate it from the previous itouch account.

    That shows my primary address is used in verification of another account. But I am sure all my apple id's are not verified until today.
    So my next question is: how can my primary address have been verified for another account? How do I found that account.
    I do not know the answer to that question, and I don't think the answer would help you.
    Even if you knew how it was verified, you would still not be able to use it for FaceTime activation or your caller iD because the database has recorded it as already having been used for a different account.
    Unless you get a better suggestion, use a different email address with FaceTime.

    I recently bought my daughter an ipod touch and set it all up and it was working fine with her email address. Unfortunately, we had to exchange it as it developed a fault. I am now in the process of trying to setup facetime and IM but when I enter her email address it says 'unable to verify email because it is already in use'. I have tried to troubleshoot this through the communities on here but the only information I can get relates to having more than one apple id which I don't. My daughter is too young to have her own so we use mine. I never had this issue when I had to reset my ipod.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Yes, I have tried this but I only have one apple id so this doesn't aply to me. I checked my account details and this email wasn't veerified. I clicked on the 'verify now' action but nothing happened. I did chec the 2 emails linked to this id and the spam folders but there was no verification email in any of them. I also tried deleting the email from my account and re-adding it but this didn't work either. I'm stumped!
