Unable to video connect

Hello,
My father just bought a new imac g5 with tiger, we both have isight and ichat, but we are unable to connect via video. We can text, but no video or audio, I use .mac, and he uses aim, we are not sure if there is a conflict with this. I am a relatively new mac user, he is from the old mac school, converted to imac, reluctantly I might add. Any help will be appreciated Thank You.

There is no conflict. Either an AIM Name or a dot Mac (even the Free Trial) name will work equally well. The only exception is that both parties must be using paid dot Mac accounts to do "encrypted" chat. Other than for encrypted chat, either works.
Being new to iChat AV, you both might want to look at Using iSight with iChat AV.
If your father still has trouble, he may find Help for iChat AV 3 Problems at this link. If he has difficulty with setting up his iChat AV 3, he can check Ryan's iChatAV3 Setup Pages.

Hello there,
I am using a simple FLVPlayback control in my AS3 document. In that I invoked FLVPlayback's methods like play, seek, and stop. Whenever I use these methods I get "VideoError: 1000: Unable to make connection to server or to find FLV on server" error while publishing the file. If I remove these method call then I am not getting this error.
Note: If I load above published file in another file then I'm not getting this error, however same is not working on LMS.
It will be of great help if someone help me resolve this issue.

I've spent a lot of time in the past couple of weeks trying
to figure out what could be the problem.
I developed a Live Streaming Flash (swf) that play fine in my
local host with my Labtop with FMS3 Installed.I can see my live
video in internet only when i use my laptop. What puzzled me is
that even when i connected to Internet my Live stream and the
dynamic playlist work perfect on my laptop but never in any other
computer. I have tested it on several computers in different
places, the only thing i get always is this code;

I can't answer your question but it sounds like you have a similar problem to me, I can make the connection fine from my laptop but no other pc can connect or see the stream. Why can't someone just tell you in plain english how to .... better still why can't Adobe actually tell you in plain english! Hope you work it out, if you do let me know please!

I am unable to video chat.

I recently downloaded Yosemite and ever since then, I have been unable to video chat. I have opened connection doctor and everything has a green check next to it. I do not know how to solve this problem. Please help!

If it is doing Jabber Video chats then it should be able to to ones based on an AIM Buddy list.
The Jabber server you are listed with may well be "internal" as to where it is located but the Video chat will still make the connection via the Internet and the use of the SNATMAP server that Apple runs for this.
zweiner99 says there is a problem with his router based on what he is seeing in the Connection Doctor.
Ports.
Routers will needs these ports opened or allowed. UPnP is the usual method.
Port 5678 is where the Visible part of the invite goes (on Bonjour, AIM and Jabber).
When I say Visible I mean the bit the Buddy sees as an Invite.
The Process in iChat 4 though to Messages 8 in Yosemite then moves to port 16402 and it sends a SIP invite behind the scenes via the SNATMAP server.
This acts like a telephone operator manually connecting you.
A series of text based instructions are passed back and forth, "Calling", "Trying", "Ringing" and so forth.
If the chat connects successfully then the Connection Doctor at the Statistics option shows the data rate and Frame Rates.
If it fails then the same drop down tab shows the failure Log if it managed to grab one.
The Network tab shows what Messages (or iChat) thinks about your Router type and Connection Speed.
You can alter the connection Speed in the Bandwidth Setting in the Preferences > Video section.
If you have a very fast connection and your Buddy does not AND you have the None Setting in the Preferences > Video > Bandwidth Limit your can "overrun the Buddy" with data and the speed at which your end expects responses.
In some cases on very fast services the variance in that service can outrun the Buffering built in to the app.
The Buffering was designed when most people's internet speed was rarely above 500kbps or at the most T1 speeds (1500kbps)
Apple used to run test accounts that Auto-responded in Video chats so that you could test a Connection.
It might be worth trying the option in the Preferences > Accounts > AIM Accounts to "relay Video though the AIM Servers".
Whilst this is less secure than the Peer-to-Peer connection for normal Video chats it may provide some clues.

Video connection lost or "freezing":iChat 3.1.8

When I attempt to accept or start a video conference, the system will "freeze" up and the connection lost (says IP connection lost or error 4). Sometimes, no audio is present either. I have checked (and rechecked) my settings (yes, my mic is turned on!). I am logging in via a cable modem. Does anyone have any suggestions to prevent this from happening? I am unable to Video Chat at all right now. I appreciate any help. Thanks!

Ahh Comcast.
For this go to iChat > Preferences > Video section and change the Bandwidth Limit to 500
Try 200 if this is not successful.
For All locations make sure System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming is set to 1.5Mb and restart iChat to see this new speed.
In iChat 3 the Automatic setting is read as a 0. In iChat 4 it is better but limited to 384k

Need a step by step guide - S-VIDEO Connection

I have concluded that the mini-DVI to S-VIDEO connection (from Apple) does not work with Mac Mini's of the 2009 vintage. So I am looking for help on the steps that I need to go through to connect a Mac Mini to 35" Sony Standard Definition TV, because I am not ready to buy a new TV right now. Can anyone point me to good guide on this?

Were did you find this information ? Even if you are right, the new Mac Mini still supports VGA through the Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter. If your Sony TV has no VGA input, at worst you would need an additional VGA->S-Video cable like this one : http://www.amazon.com/TV-out-VGA-S-Video-Cable-Adapter/dp/B000P3UB24.
Note that a direct VGA connection, if supported by your Sony monitor, would give you a better image quality.

Unable to Create Connection ( Connection error DA0005) in DESKI 3 TIER

I have strange error of connection in DESKI 3 Tier.
Work Flow:
=> Wanted to create a deski report in Three Tier( from Infoview) using specific universe.
=> When I ran query it gives me error saying Connection error DA0005( Unable to create connection)
Work around did
=> Created Webi report using same univerese reprort ran fine.
The connection is there on enterprise I don't know whats going wrong.

I used to be able to clone or extend my desktop onto external tv's using the s-video connection. This has all of a sudden stopped, the cable is fine as are the tv's as I've tried them with other laptops, and the s-video port in the laptop looks and feels solid. So physically things seem fine.
I have tried updating drivers, flashing BIOS, upgrading to Windows 7, running the restore disks created when the laptop was first bought. VGA and HDMI ports work perfectly but I need to use s-video and I go to a switcher that only has phono video inputs.
Does anyone have any fixes for this or anyone know of a switcher that has red yellow and white phono ins and well as HDMI or VGA in?
Any ideas would be well much appreciated

Oddly with the bios settings, i did discover a setting which when turned on caused the s-video output to work, but only during the post. And even then the picture is poor and flashes on and off on off etc, but a regular flash.
Until then i was beginning to think it was a connection problem (that maybe my s-video connection on the laptop was damaged) but when this worked, it discounted this theory.
But as soon as windows loaded, the tv recieving the input.
So naturally i assumed operating system or driver issue, but ive restored to factory settings, and even tried windows 7 on it at one stage as well as many many driver versions and still no joy.
(note - i am back to vista, purely cos i know it has worked with it before)

I am unable to fully connect to a wireless hot spot with Z10

I am unable to fully connect to a wireless hot spot at work with my z10. We use Cisco access points. Once connected to the AP, users are redirected to https://2.2.2.2/login.html this page allows users to type a username and password and then click a button to gain full Internet access. Using the z10 to connect to the AP redirects me to the secure page but then throws the error:
"Site Identity Not Verifiable"
I then select Expand to continue and am able to add the site as an exception but then I get asecond error:
"Unknown network error 3RFINA".
I believe it's most likely due to the self-signed cert that the AP is using to secure the http traffic. I use to see this issue on my previous blackberry devices and playbook prior to some recent OS updates, but I am not sure what the exact fix was. If you try to accept the error and there no prompt to install the cert as seen on my previous devices.
I am able to connect to the same AP with my laptop, Playbook, and Bold 9900, iPod and android devices without issue. Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas? Since the AP is not mine I am really looking for a transparent client-side solution.

I guess the problem is invalid certificate in web authlogin page.
Even when I add a excepetion, I still geting this same error 3RFINA.
I remember when I had Android 1.6 I receive similar error, but when upgraded to 2.1 the errors was gone and I was able to authenticate in wifi connection here in that government build.
Now, when I came to BB Z10, I a kind of disapointed to get same error. I now its concern by security and the guilty in that history probably is IT who admin this network for using a invalid certificate (the validation date appears in browser is a kind of funny... says its valid from 2027 to 2039)

My corporate database wizards have created a login for my small subsidiary to use to read selected data from the HR database. It's meant to be used by an SSIS package to bring over data on who's a current employee and who's not.
The package has started returning connection errors, and when I try to log into the HR database via SSMS using this login I get the following message:
"Unable to apply connection settings. The detailed error message is" 'NoCount' is not a recognized option."
If I click on OK I can still log in, but it looks like this error is causing SSIS to produce an error. I've seen articles on vaguely similar errors logging onto an Azure database, but this one's on SQL Server 2012.
Anybody got any ideas? Is there something I can change at my end, or is it a change that has to be made in the remote DB?

Unable to establish connection to R/3

We have just installed XI and done all configurations.
I am doing one example ( connection r/3 to legacy system ) . When I open I outbound object in Integration Repository and in Imported objects when right click on IDocs and click Import SAP Objects, it asks me for SAP logon details , but when I try to connect it shows an error

Is the target system online?
Check the connection data (note that server names and groups are case-sensitive)

Does the user have the required authorizations in the target system?
Is the target system configured correctly in "etc/services"?
I am putting IP address in application server and checked the system number as well.
I am able to ping From webas to R/3.

The bcp program executes successfully on a local instance of SQL Server.

The error has nothing to do with BCP as such, but it is a connection problem. That is, for some reason you cannot connect to your instance from the VM. I would exect that you face a similar problem if you tried SSMS.
It could be a firewall issue, but prelogin suggests that you reach the instance. But possibly you don't come far enough for the login failure to be recorded. Possibly the instance is not configured to audit login failures.
The message you would see would be similar to
2010-08-18 14:11:30.91 Logon Error: 17809, Severity: 20, State: 3
Possibly followed by a a line that details the message. The error number may be different.

I am in the process of doing a migration from SBS 2003 std. edition to SBS 2011 std. I am at the point the migrating mailboxes from the Exch 03 server to the Exch 2010 server. I initially received an error when selecting mailboxes that the mailbox

Projecting DVDs using s video connection

Tonight I was at an event where I was using my PowerBook to project a DVD using an s video connection to the projector. I was able to project my desktop on screen but when I inserted the DVD and the DVD player came on you could still only see my desktop and not the DVD player. Did I fail to make a proper setting?

Full screen is designated usually for the primary screen in Apple menu -> System preferences -> Displays. You can change the primary screen by dragging the location of the menubar in that setting. The menubar is the white line on top of the rectangle identifying the said display. You can always view the video at less than full screen and just adjust the window location.

Unable to open connection error

Hi All,
   I have a report that is connecting to two ODBC DSN connections. Using Crystal Reports 2008 it opens fine and generates reports (we did this even on the Crystal Server using CR 2008).
   When we load this report onto the Crystal Reports Server 2008 Server and try to open it using InfoView, it gives a message "Unable to open connection". Does anyone have any ideas to get it to work on the CR Server 2008? It is a very basic report with 2 ODBC connections. The driver for the ODBC connection is installed on the Server and was tested successfully with Crystal Reports just not with Crystal Reports Server 2008.
