Unable to view a saved pdf in a folder

I saved a pdf from Safari into a folder. But when I open that folder to read the file, I cannot see it. I thought it did not save properly, so I went to the Website and downloaded it again to save int he same folder. But then, I see that file saved as pdf. If it is saved, why can I not see it when I open the folder through my applciations? I did this several times, but to no avail. Can someone help? Thanks

Try this ...
Open a Finder window then from the menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Click Go.
If you see the:  AdobePDFViewer plugin in the Internet Plug-Ins folder, move it to the trash.
Restart your Mac and try opening a PDF file.

  • Unable to view flash in PDF in Safari

    Hello,
We recently upgraded to PDF Reader XI and Flash player on our MAC computer. We have PDF files with flash content embedded. When we open these PDFs using Safari browser on MAC we are unable to view flash content in PDF. However if we download then we can see flash content in PDF Reader XI.
How do we view flash content within Safari directly?
    Thanks

ps. I found same issue with Safari on windows7 also.

In the Safari Preferences, under Security, make sure that "Allow all other plug-ins" is checked in both Mac and Windows versions

  • Unable to view videos saved as webarchive files.

    Hi there!
I am unable to view videos I saved as webarchive files ever since I installed MountainLion.
Videos saved both before and after the installation won't work anymore.
Does someone know why and what can be done about this?
    Thanks in advance!

Which OS are you running (Snow Leopard, Lion, etc). You can check this by clicking on the Mac button on the top left corner of your screen and clicking on "About this Mac"
Also if you have just udated Safari to 5.1.7 (like I just did) old versions of Flash Player are automatically disabled for security reasons, I had to reinstall Flash a couple of minutes ago.

  • Unable to view/print some PDF documents

I am unable to view/print some of the technical documents (white papers) in the 91AS documentation page. When I attempt to open them I get the netscape "extend capabilities" dialog, but my local internet support does not have a plug-in/download for the file type multipart-byterange and requested that I contact the site owner for a source for the file. I am using Netscape/Communicator 4.73 and adobe acrobat reader 5.0
    Thank you

  • Saving PDF to last folder

I have Adobe Reader X 10.0.0, PDF Version 1.4 (Acrobat 5.x). I have been saving PDF's for years, and each time I save, it goes to the last folder I saved to? The other day, I had approximately 15 PDF's that had been scanned to me, and after I had saved 5 of these documents normally, it then started going straight to a temporary folder, and has done ever since, which means I have to go through all the folders to get the one I desire? I have spoken to our I.T. department and they believe its a problem with PDF and not with our system, and I believe otherwise. I can use Recent Places, but when you have done the same thing for years, and the amount I do, change is not always good
Has anyone encountered the same problem, and can help?

    Hi Kat,
This is a bit geeky, but the signature appearance that you see on the page is not the signature, but just a graphical representation of the actual signature. The actual signature is a blob of hex encoded data in the PDF file that you don't really see. That aside...
When you create a digital signature the first thing Acrobat/Reader will ask you to do is select a digital ID to sign with. Acrobat then reads the digital ID and amasses some information to use to create the signature appearance. It then fills in the form field (a signature field is just a special use form field) with the appearance, BUT the signature still hasn't been created. The next thing Acrobat does is asks you to Save the file to disk. This is more geekiness, but it much safer to compute the signature byte range on disk then it is in memory. The simple explanation is it's harder for the bad guys to manipulate the bytes on disk then it is for them to control the bytes in memory and because a digital signature provides document security we err on the safe side and require the file to be written to disk before the signature is created. The other safety item is, we want to sign the signature appearance so that someone can't come along later and modify the appearance without breaking the signature, so it (the appearance) has to be created before the signature proper is created.
So at this point you've seen the signature appearance and thought that the signature has been created, but it hasn't. When you try to save to the network folder something is preventing Acrobat from saving the file and what ends up happening is the file is rolled back to the pre-signature state and the signature appearance is removed. The file is in essence untouched.
All of that aside (which is probably more than you really wanted to know) the real question is why can't the file be saved to the network folder. This isn't really a digital signature issue, but rather a network permissions issue.

  • Unable to view downloads saved in Downloads Folder

I have purchased and downloaded some movie clips. They are in the Firefox Downloads folder. I can play them when the clips are downloaded but after about 24 hours, if I right click and look for Open Containing Folder, it is greyed out. I have noted that they are placed in my Temp folder in the C Drive when first downloaded. On one occasion I saved the file from the Temp folder to My Documents and have returned to it and been able to play it. It occurs to me I may have made a basic error when the download starts. I am asked if I would like to play on Windows Media Viewer and there is also the alternative of a Save option. I assumed that all downloaded files would be automatically saved to the Firefox Download file. Should I have selected the Save button instead? There appear to be no security issues because the file size and site details still appear below the file name.

If you choose to play the files then they are downloaded to the temp folder and can be deleted at any time.
If you want to keep them then you need to save them first to another location before playing them or copy them from the temp folder.
The latter may not work properly though.

  • Unable to view all the pdf menu bar in internet browser

We are working on a web application where we have to provide options to users to edit pdf directly(like changing the text) and save to the server again. I installed acrobat professional on my machine to develop the code. But when i open the pdf in my web application(i.e Microsoft Internet Browser..) it is just showing few tool bars, but i need to load all the menu bars so that user can use all the menus which is available for adobe professional. Thanks for your help.

When viewing a PDF in a web browser, one is using a special plugin for the web browser to read PDF files. I have the same problem when I have an Excel file opened in a web browser, there is no Excel menu bar or toolbars.  You might be able to add some JavaScirpt to the PDF to display the necessary tool bars.
I always wondered why they call these internet viewers browsers.

  • I am unable to view or download PDF files using Firefox that used to open automatically.

Reading some of the other comments on the support site I wonder if in my haste in making sure I didn't get that malware virus if I didn't perhaps accidentally delete a necessary plug-in for Adobe Reader?  I'd appreciate any advice.  Thank you!

If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extension) like <i>Adblock Plus</i> or <i>NoScript</i> or <i>Flash Block</i> that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Unable to view files on my local site folder

I've set a new Testing site in Dreamweaver CC and directed the local view to a current folder which has all my files on. However when in Dreamweaver I can't view the majority of the files and am therefore unable to load to my testing server or change the code within a file.
I've tried reloading the local folder, moving it around but each time I go to Dreamweaver the files do not show in the files box.
I have a couple of other sites directed to local folders and they seem to be ok although on checking there does seem to be a similar issue with one folder.
How do I get Dreamweaver to recognise all the local folders and the files I specify and allow me to change them?
I have looked at FAQ's and other questions but cannot find an answer although it may well be in there somewhere.
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

    Here are two screen prints;
first is what is seen in DW from the testing server, the second as seen in DW from local server.
I have checked the directory of the testing server and all files are there, just not showing in DW.
The local root folder path is C:\00-MAP Website-Local.
I've checked the folder and hidden files is clear.

  • Unable to view lync history in my outlook folder

    Hi,
My chat history can be seen in lync chats but when i click on the button 'View more in outlook' i get error like below. Any tips on how to solve this ?
    Lync
UCMAPI is connected to Outlook, but one or more folders are not updating.
    OK
    Thanks,
    Tulasi.

Run regedit Locate and do the following:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator
    1. Change ImAutoArchivingPolicy key's value data from 0 to 1:
    2. then restart communicator
    3. You should now see a folder in outlook named Conversation History
If that does not work, try to check if ImAutoArchivingPolicy is also present in the following location
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator, then do steps 1-3 above.

  • Rh9:Unable to view PDF files from search results in Firefox

Is this a Firefox plug-in issue, rather than a Robohelp issue?
    Background info:
    Using Rh9
    Firefox 23.0 (latest version)
Works successfully in Chrome (latest version) and Microsoft IE 8 and IE 9
Using Firefox, I am able to view the test PDF file from within a topic, via a hyperlink. Unable to view the test PDF when it appears within the search results.
    Failure behavior
Information message appears at the top of the screen, indicating that "This PDF document might not be displayed correctly."
A button appears: "Open with Different Viewer"
In the main frame, the page is blank except for the Adobe Viewer controls: i.e., zoom, page navigation, download, print, ....
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    -bruce.

I think it is an Acrobat issue. I have seen it and with PDFs not linked to Fm or Rh. Sometimes you can see the issue and sometimes you don't. I also have Nitro PDF and that displays the PDF without problems.
If it is a PDF you create, I guess you could try some different settings or use something else to create it to see if the problem goes away.

  • Unable to view saved queries in Favourites

    Hi Experts,
We have few users using Bex. They can successfully save queries in Favourites, however when they are trying to open the queries saved in Favourites, they are unable to see anything. That is they are unable to view their saved queries under Favourites.
From Backend perspective they have SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW. Please suggest what might be the issue here?
    Thanks
    Deb

    Hi,
Thanks for your inputs, No issues found in the Gateway Logging.
The SAP Note 1031850 doesn't seem to be relevant here as we are on SAP_BW component version 701 and the note talks about components 700 and 710.
I don't know whether I am able to explain the issue properly; Users are able to save queries in their Favourite Folder by putting an XYZ technical name to it. However after coming back to the Analyser, they are unable to view any saved queries in their Favourite Folder. Interestingly this is happening in the QA environment while in Dev everything is fine.
    Thanks,
    Deb

  • Unable to view pdf's or download on one site only but IE6 can

I am unable to view or download pdf file on the following site. All I get is a system down message.
If I open IE6 and try the site then I am able view and download the pdf without problems.

If the problem is with that single site only there is not much that can be done, as it is a secure site needing a login. https://sunbeltparts.com/sunbelt/secured/index.html
I can get to<s> https://sunbeltparts.com/sunbelt/secured/index.html</s> https://www.sunbeltparts.com/sunbelt/index.html and see a thumbnail for a pdf, but I then get a system down message, so presumably they are having a site problem.

  • Opening the saved pdf output

    Hi,
We are facing a strange problem. We are running the oracle report 6i from the browser. The output is in PDF format. We are able to see the output in Pdf format in the browser and are able to take the printout also. When the save button is pressed the file is getting saved with the name given. But the problem is we are unable to open the saved Pdf file. It gives the error, "unable to repair the file". Have any idea?

Yes. We saved the report after taking the printout. Even then we are unable to open those pdfs. Though this is the case for most of the reports, there are some reports working fine also. We don't find any difference betweeen them.
    Regds,
    Ruckmangathan.
