Unable to view any contect in my start menu

I have a brand new HP Pavilion All In OnPC23. When I first started my PC, I entered all the relevant data. It ran ok for a few hours. I came back to my computer to find it had shut down. After restarting the PC it was in recovery mode. There was no content in the App screen or the Start screen. I did a 'refresh' and managed to get the Apps back but there is nothing showing in the Start menu as it was before?? The few Apps there were showing on the desktop are there but don't work and have gone blank - no picture just white boxes.

Windows Key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin) and type sfc scannow
The command will repair all corrupt system files, if not let me know.

Unable to view any chart in OBIEE

i've installed OBIEE. I'm unable to view any chart in Dashboard. I see any other type of table (pivot, compound) but when i create a chart i see the red cross in the top left corner. It's possible i need a specific JVM?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
You might also try signing out of itunes and back in (Settings App > itunes & App Store)

NMH405 - Unable to view any files using the FIle Browser

Hello,
I logged in to the FIle Browser, hoping to delete some photos from my media hub. However, I am unable to view any music, photo, or video files on this page, nothing listed. All blank when I clicked on these 3 folders.
No problems accessing the actual files in their respective pages. I could play the music and video files, and view the photos. But I can't carry out any maintenance on them via the File Browser.
Checked the User Guide, but couldn't find any clues to this problem. Could someone please help me?

Hi there,
Files that were imported and stored on the Import Folder won't be detected on the NMH File Browser. You may only see them if you manually classify the files to it's corresponding folder.
It means, you need to move the files based on their file type. AVIs, WMV, etc. should be placed on your Videos folder .. Mp3s, Wavs, etc. should be moved to the Music folder .. Jpgs, Gifs, etc. should be moved to Pictures folder ..

Unable to view any videos. Constantly buffering

How can I stop the buffering , unable to watch any videos. Please help.

Suddenly unable to view any videos

I have a new iMac (about a week old) and suddenly, I can't view any video content. I have reinstalled Flashplayer numerous times and a window comes up saying the install was successful but I still can't view anything.

I am unable to view any videos on Youtube, my flash player is up to date.

This morning it was fine, now I am not able to view any video's on Youtube, I followed the information on your blog under the flash player options and it did not work.

Try clearing the Cache in Firefox.
Tools-> Clear Recent History -> [v] Cache
or
Tools->Options->Advanced->Network -> Offline storage -> [Clear Now]
Youtube may have made some changes recently. Clear the Youtube cookie and refresh page if above does not do it.

I can't add any GTK programs to "Start" menu

Hi. I have upgrade system but I can't add any GTK programs to my menu. When I tried add it, and save changes...... menu is no update. Other programs add properly. What does this means ?

Can you give us some more info? Is this gnome, fluxbox, kde, etc for example? What GTK apps do you mean?
You often have to restart the wm or reload configs etc to get new menu items showing, have you tried that?

UNABLE TO VIEW ANY FILES IN TRASH, AND UNABLE TO DELETE THEM.

Hi i wondered if someone can help ,me on this one as i have searched for an answer and nothing works.
I have upgraded to my new iMac and migrated all my files over, i have now deleted some of the unwanted files and folders, to free up space.
HOWEVER - i have tried deleting them and cant, so as some of them are locked i went back into the trash to unlock them and even though there are thousands of files in the trash none of them are viewable, so i cant drag them back out, drag them to the terminal window or anything.
I have repaired privileges
I have tried to use the terminal window and delete files, but cant view them to drag them
I have tried to secure deleted them
My problem is i cant view the files so i cant do anything with them.
Does any one have any ideas,
should i try to delete the .trash file as i think someone mentioned in which case how do i do that.
Any help would be fantastic. Thank you in advance

I have managed to resolve this problem (however it is still deleting the files so fingers are crossed still.) Thanks for the help by the way.
A friend showed me a way to do it, thought ide put it out there so people might benefit from it.
I restarted with the shift key pressed down. after about 4-5 mins it starts in Safe Boot mode, ive logged in, and started to secure delete the files and it seems as though it is working although very slowly as there are thousands of files.
The reason the are so many files is that they are all 'old' time machine back ups from my old powerbook. Me being the extra cautious bunny that i am have several copies of every file anyway 'just in case', so it will take house but it will free up huge amounts of space.

IPhoto crashes, unable to view any images

iPhoto is consistently crashing when I start it up. As soon as I open the first image, the good old spinning beach ball appears & it just hangs up leaving me to force quit. It's not specific to the one image, it happens with any of them.
Has anybody seen a similar issue? Know of any fixes for this?
All the updates have been downloaded too by the way!

Backup the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select last three options.

Unable to view any spreadsheet in Excel 2008

I own current generation Macbook Pro running Apple- provided MS Excel 2008. I also own a Dymo printer that requires a particular kind of script to print labels.
When anyone sends me (by email) a spreadsheet prepared in Excel 2008 or earlier, I canNOT see the data contained in the spreadsheet unless I view it as a "quickview" or within Excel as a web page preview. My wife has the same computer but does not have the same problems. I am thinking either the "script" setting is awry or something is checked or unchecked somewhere. Any thoughts?

OK, so this is the problem. For the record, it may not be anything specific to MS Office. I consider it premature to just send you over there until that has been established.
You said you can't see the attachment, but you can open it with QuickLook. That means you must be able to see it, doesn't it? Have you tried double-clicking it in Mail? Have you tried clicking the "Save" button in Mail? Have you tried dragging the attachment from the body of the message onto your Desktop?
Also, do you and your wife use the same e-mail server? Does it behave the same way when you send it from a different e-mail account and to a different e-mail account (a total of 3 different permutations). Try creating a new user account on your Mac and see if the new account behaves the same way.
I know that is a lot of things to do. I'm trying to gather more information. A common problem lately is that lots of e-mail servers are scrambling either the messages being sent or received in attempts to remove viruses or phishing attempts. Often they leave e-mails in an unusable state. If you want, you can always send an example to me. Select a message, choose "Send Again" from the Message menu and replace the To address with info at etresoft dot com (that's me).
Some people are a bit leery about sending e-mail, but often that is the only way to diagnose this kind of problem. I have done that a number of times here in Apple Discussions. A couple of times I've found bugs in Apple Mail, but usually the problem is elsewhere and I can tell you where that is.

Unable to view any options other than general

I have just upgraded from the 24.x ESR stream to the 31.0 ESR
Having done so has broken my ability to access the settings within firefox. Accessing the about:preferences page causes brings up the new settings page, however, selecting any of the "tabs" does not navigate to the desired page, it remains on the general settings page ( see: http://i.imgur.com/R2qJW6t.png )
This problem persists after disabling all add-ons and restarting browser.
Firefox is running on W7_x64

Does the Options window via the Firefox menu button or the Tools menu behave like this as well?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance

HT1694 I'm unable to view any of the contents in hotmail subfolders

In my hotmail account,I'm able to move items from my inbox into a sub folder, but when I click on the MAILBOXES button, to view the subfoders, I am not seeing the contets. Is there any fix for this?
