Unable to view Business Rules in Planning application

Hi All,
After changing the password of hypadmin i am not able to view all the business rules in my planning application and EAs console business rules wizard also doesn't shown planning when i am trying to add location.
Please suggest how to do password change in Hyperion 11.1.2.

Hi,
If it's admin id(configuration id), then you need to configure all the components which is registered with shared services after changing your password.
For example, EAS configuration, only re-configure for -> Register with shared services.
Like the same way we need to do for all components with new password & for planning apps, need to edit datasource with new password.

Hi all,
I recently migrated database schemas from uat to prod.i configured evrything successfully.when
I loged into EAS console with user(other than admin)that user has all acces to create business rules,
I tried to create new business rule to select planning application.
I am getting this error" error connecting to essbase server<servername>:<appname>
in error details "error connecting to pllanning server<servername>:<appname>"
and "error loading objects from data source:java.sql.SQLException: [Hyperion][Oracle JDBC Driver]Object has been closed."
Please anybody help on these

we are using hyperion planning 9.3.1.1.11 version,
we were new installatalled Production server and configured,but i did not test the business rules in production server,
next my DBA exported Oracle Dabase Schemas from UAT server to Production sever those scema names are same in UAT and Production server,so my DBA droped The Schemas in production and replaced the UAT scemas in production server,
After i manually configured the production server with Migrated scemas, in configuration i changed the server names with production sever and Database names while configuration ,Hyperion planning datasource names are same in UAT and Production ,i manually edited the server names and Database names, i configured to For EAS ,Shared Services,Planning
Everything configured sucessfully,i am able to log on to application Planning url,and refreshed everything,
But i am logon to EAS console, i tried to create the Business rule with associate Planning Application I am getting this error Connecting to essbase server<server name>:<appname>
In error details "error connecting to pllanning server,servername>:<appname.
and error loading objects from datasource:com.java.sqlexception;[hyperion][oracle jdbc driver]object has been close.
please help on these

Unable to access to Business rules from planning

HI all,
We are using Hyperion Planning 9.3.1, Essbase 9.3.1 and AAS 9.3.1.
Unfortunately, we are not able to access to business rules from planning.
All rights are set properly, the business rules are visible through AAS 9.3.1 and are accessible from all locations.
When we go to tools/business rules and select the database, we are not able to see any business rules.
If someone has any idea, it will help us a lot,

Unfortunately, we do not have the directory \HyperionPlanning\webapps\HyperionPlanning\WEB-INF\classes\.
We tried to put the file in the directory \HyperionPlanning\deployment\tomcat\HyperionPlanning\webapps\HyperionPlanning\web-inf\classes\
But it still doesn't work.
For your information, we are currently using TOMCAT as web server.

Business Rules in Planning 11.1.2.1 - Cannot connect to Planning

I started experiencing some problems today in forms with Business Rules. I don't really know how it happened, but I noticed after a Refresh and after stopping CalcManager service (business rules run on this service?). Either way I restarted the EPM System and the error persists.
When I ented in any form with business rules i get the error: An error occured, in a white background.

I'm still having this problem. I checked that RMI is running but whenever I try to enter in Planning the logs write that it can't connect to the eas database, and HBRPluginData relational table isn't being filled.

Use of Provisioning a User as View User wrt a planning application

Hello All,
I am using EPM 11.1.1.1.0 and have created a planning application. I am trying to provision the users and groups now. I granted a user the proviison of "View User" under my planning application coz the user is supposed to be an executive who would just be able to see the data forms and not do much on the app.
But with just this provision of "View User" I am not able to log into the planning application and i get the following error:
"Failed to sync with User Provisioning. Check logs for details."
Can some body plesae help me with this?

I tried restarting planning but still to no use...
It again gives the same error.
The fact is i could log into the application some time back without any problems and now its showing the error:

Deploying business rules across mutliple applications.

Please let me know is there way to deploy Datasync project ( Business Rules) across multiple applications at a single shot.

As far as I know, contents of DataSync Projects are always scoped to a portal application. When we create EAR of portal app also, contents of datasync projects are within EAR file in addition to all other projects.
BUT, we can share same Datasync Project across multiple portal applications. But for deployment, I doubt if you can deploy and access it like a Shared Module.

Business Rule Of Sample Application in Planning

Hi Planning Gurus,
I am unable to find where the business rule is saved in Planning Application (Sample Application shipped with Planning), though i see some default Rules under Business Rule within Admin console like aggall etc. But where are the basic calc like Revenue=Unit*Unit Price.

If the location and access has been set up on the business rule then they should appear soon after in planning.
If no business rules are showing and depending on your version, check that HBRServer.properties exists in the planning web server strucure e..g \Hyperion\deployments\Tomcat5\HyperionPlanning\webapps\HyperionPlanning\WEB-INF\classes

Cannot see Business Rules in Planning

Hi,
I am not able to see business rules in Hyperion Workspace 11.1.2.1. I have provided access to the admin group and assigned the BR to the correct planning applications and planning server.
I am able to view them in EAS but in Planning, i am unable to do so.
Any idea what i am missing?

I take it you have recycling the services to rule out a communication issue, if so have you checked the logs for any errors.
Also it is worth having a read of the following Oracle Support doc - "Hyperion Business Rules Visibility Within Hyperion Planning [ID 1110438.1]"

Error in association of Business Rule to Planning

My name is Jitendra from India. I am new to Hyperion planning 9.3.
I am facing problem while attaching a business rule with the planning database (association step). It is showing "Unable to connect to Planning" . But same Business rule is attaching with the Essbase database.
I have installed 9.3.1Shared Service,Essbase server,Client,cosole,planning (classic application not EPMA application). My planning engine is working fine.
I am stuck at this point for last 2 days. I saw below guide lines in OTN forum by John.
Can somebody guide me with this problem or tell me where I can find the doc id - 763345.1

Unable t view the rules in EAS

I couldn't able to view the business rules in EAS.I can view them in planning and execute them from planning.
What might be the problem?

I think you should try to use the ID you used to create the BRs.
Also, make sure you are connected to the right administration server. I hope you are aware that there are administration server and essbase servers in EAS console. BR sit on Administration server. it should show connected against the administration server. Even though administration server shows on your list, it doesnt mean that you are connected to it.

Launch business rules from Planning

Hi,
I created a business rule "xyz" in EAS console with necessary validations and user/group security. I would want to associate this rule to a data form in planning.
During data form design , the business rule "xyz" is not showing up in the available list of rules.
What needs to be done..?
Created planning application using classic app wizard.

One other thing to check for if you are using a version prior to 11 is that the file HBRServer.properties is in the correct folder within the planning web application.
For example on tomcat it would be :- \Hyperion\deployments\Tomcat5\HyperionPlanning\webapps\HyperionPlanning\WEB-INF\classes

Unable to find Business Rules in the JDeveloper while creating new project

Hi All,
I am going through the chapter 9 Creating a Rule-enabled Non-SOA Java EE Application for JDevloper 11g. I am following the instruction given in the chapter.
However I am unable to find a Business Rules category for creating a Business rules directory.
Probably it has to be activated from somewhere.
I tried searching its significance with JDev installation but haven't got anything.
It seems very basic level problem, however...Please let me know if anybody knows how to solve it

Unable to load data to Hyperion planning application using odi

When I try to load data into planning using odi, the odi process completes successfully with the following status in the operator ReportStatistics as shown below but the data doesn't seem to appear in the planning data form or essbase

Business Rules and Planning Login Error

Hi Experts,
Today with the help of our DBA we migrated all the Production Planning Oracle database to Planning development database.
But after all, we restarted all the services and after that when we are connecting to the Console and Planning application we are getting log in erros and in console it is successfully opening all the administration services but giving fail to login to HBR.
When i login into the Planning application I am getting this error.
"Unsuccessful logon check for details"
We are using Planning 4x and Essbase 7x.
Please suggest me.

I guess I did not read your post carefully before this. Did you just copy application databases or planning system database too? You probably just needed to copy application databases for copy applications from prod to dev.
You cannot log in because of difference in user authentication. when you add a user to any system, it translates that userid into a ID that identifies the user according to external system you may be using. However, if you are using PROD to connect to prod MSAD but using dev to connect to dev MSAD (or other), they potentially resolve in different internal IDs. My suggestion would be to drop planning tables and recreate/reconfigure planning in dev. Then create your applications in dev. After creating application shells, you can ask DBA to copy database for applications into application databases followed by copying essbase apps from prod to dev. For HBR, you should just export rules from PROD and import to DEV. Its more involved but much cleaner.

Business Rules in Planning 11.1.2.1

Hi,
I'm having a strange problem in Planning 11.1.2.1 dataforms. I added a business rule and selected Run on Save, Use members in dataform and Hide Prompt in a dataform. However when I press the save button, the Business Rule prompt appears, and the values of the prompt parameters are not filled with the current page selection (the specific business rule has 2 run-time prompt variables), while I was expecting it to simply start running without showing the prompt and ask the members to the user.
Anyone knows what could be the problem?
