Unable to view Catalog in PSE9 trial version

Having used PSE6 for some time now, I decided to give PSE9  a try out.  After downloading & installing, I tried to import my photos into the catalog, but I keep getting the message 'nothing was imported; the files selected did not contain any supported file types or are already in this catalog.' Can anybody suggest what I might be doing wrong.  Uninstalling PSE6 has not made any difference.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • File + Edit menus missing from PSE9 trial version

    I installed the trial version of PSE9 and am having a fundamental problem with the Organizer. Various functions require me to access File or Edit menus which, according to the Help file, should be at the top of the screen but they are nowhere to be found.
    For example, I want to Move files offline to a CD or DVD. To do that - according to the Help facility - I have to start by clicking on File - Move, but nowhere can I find this "File".
    Does anyone here know whether these menus are missing from the trial version of the Organizer ? Or are they hidden somewhere ?

    When forwarding this to the product management you might mention that this problem was encountered on a Window 7 Ultimate 64-bit system. I mention this because I have discovered the the "Ultimate" and 64-bit versions sometimes behave significantly differently from the other versions of Windows 7. In particular, some of my recently-purchased software has been unable to deal with the 64-bits, possibly because parts of them were written 10 years ago albeit purchased recently.

    I migrated "rpd and catalog" using "Upgrade Assistant" utility (Ora_Home\bin\ua.bat) available in OBIEE 11g. But after migration, I am unable to view my catalog and even create analysis reports in Analysis of 11g.
    Do I need to do something additional. Although I am able to login to repository.

  • Batch.bat unable to generate PDFs with FM11 trial version & Elmsft 5.2 trial

    I am evaluating the trial version of Fm11 and FrameScript 5.2 (Elmsft) to generate PDFs using a Batch.bat file. I am able to generate stand alone PDFs with FM11. Now, I have created a Batch.bat file which calls BooksToPDF.fso and a filelist.txt, which contains the list of .book files. This script should work to generate PDFs. This is not working, the script is unable to open FM11 trial version, error message reads: "unable to connect to FrameMaker-open FrameMaker manually". Can anyone help?
    Is there any other way to generate multiple PDFs in one go with Fm11.

    If you want to just create PDFs from FM via the command line, then using one of the available FM batch utilities might be an easier route.

    Check which version of HANA Studio is installed. Many issues like these ares solved in revision 74.

    Maheedhararao if you are unable to install in trial mode then it is likely the trial period for that computer has expired.  I would recommend evaluating the software on a different computer.

  • Unable to view catalog content - fetching children does not complete

    I'm stuck with a HANA system where I'm not able to see the content of the catalog folder in the navigator in hana studio. Neither am I able to see system status, apart from the hover over the system connection where it says "all services running".
    I can explore the security section but nothing else.
    ANy hints or pointers?
    (AWS hosted instance, less than a week old, started and stopped a few times to keep costs down. Logged on with user SYSTEM).
    Changed the password for both the db user SYSTEM and for the hdbadm user.

    This is a known issue and happily there is a workaround.

    He lists a series of SQL statements to execute at the end of his post. Before you execute them, read also Wolfgang's post here: http://scn.sap.com/message/14315505#14315505 where he specifies a point where you have to wait bit before executing the final SQL statement.
    I've experienced the "catalog hanging" error many times, and I used to have to restore from backup like you did.  But it often comes back, so it is worth knowing the workaround.

    I don't have Webshots installed. I have ran my AdAware and Spybot, and my Norton's Antivirus. I've also defragged and ran disk cleanup on my C drive. I've ran the Malicious Software Removal from Microsoft, and ran Disk Error Checking. I've done everything I can think of, and I still can't install either one.
    I was thinking it was Windows Vista, but surely CS4 is compatible with Windows Vista. I thought maybe it might be the Service Pack 1 and thought about uninstalling that update, trying to install them, then reinstall Service Pack 1. What do you think? Think it might help?

  • Unable to view Essbase App in Smartview

    Hello all,
    I am new to Essbase so I apologize if this is a silly question. I have created a new Essbase application but I am unable to view it in Smartview (using version 11.1). The Common Provider Connections does not refresh the list based on the new application. I know I created/deployed the app correctly (did this with help of Essbase person). That same person has not worked with 11 too much and could not help.
    However, I am able to see and connect to the application using the old Essbase Add-in.
    Do I need to trigger something else so the new application will show up in the Common Provider Connection list.

    Typically when you can't see an application in Smartview it is because you have your selector set to predefined or favorites. Change it to All and see if it makes a difference.

  • Unable to View or Hear a File Using Premier v12 that Was Made with Trial Version 11

    Dear Assistance,
    About a year ago, I compiled video into a file using Trial Version 11. 
    It sat on my computer for about a year.
    Recently, I purchased Premire 12 (on a different computer)
    I then copied the file I made using Trial v11 to dropbox.
    I then opened the file and it automatically loaded onto my v12.
    However, I cannot hear any audio. 
    Also, there is no video.  Instead, I see a red square image (with text on the far left - some of the text is english and some of it appears Chinese.  The English says Media off-line.
    Please help me.  I really need to be able to play this video and make additional edits to it.

  • I D/L'd a trial version of LR 5 and lost all my catalog and collections in LR 4. What can I do to get them back?

    Yesterday I D/L'd a trial version of LR 5.6 and during installation it seemed to be copying my catalog from my LR 4.4.  Now nearly all of my catalog and all my collections in LR 4 have disappeared.  What has happened to them andhow do I get them back.  The original photos seem to still be available in the myphotos directory on the computer, but without any of my lightroom editing.

    Thank you so much!  I was freaking out that I had lost the whole

    support had been able to point me in the right direction with this
    advice. They basically shrugged their shoulders and said tough
    luck!  I am not impressed!

    Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:
    ... and click OK. Quit and restart the QuickTime Player prior to checking to see if the settings change has had any effect.

    Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 and Premiere Elements 13 are standalone products.
    So, you can have both on the same computer, but only open one for your work.
    The classical recommendation is to finish a project in the version in which it was created since there
    is no guarantee that a project from an earlier version will open in the later version. Probably will, but
    no guarantees. And, when you do explore this, do it from a copy of the earlier version project. Once you
    take the earlier version project into a later version one, you cannot go back to edit the later version edited
    project in the earlier version program.
    If you have both versions (9 and 13) on the same computer and you have not moved, deleted, renamed any of the version 9's files/folders,
    right click the saved closed Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 project file, select Open With, and then Adobe Premiere Elements 13.
    (Your 9.0/9.0.1 saved closed project file should be found in Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/9.0.)
