Unable to view Certain Phone Types in Self Service HR

Through SSHR I am able to add all Phone Types that are enabled in HR_LOOKUPS - Work Fax, Fax, Home, Work, Other, and Cell. I am able to view them but when I select update button the next screen drops Phone Type Fax and displays other phone type numbers.. But on Oracle Prof. screen I am able to view all and perform DML Operations. Your response will be appreciated.

Please check whether seeded SSHR page has the Fax field or not? It might not be there on the seeded page or might have been hidden through personalization.
It is not necessary that what you see on SSHR page will be equivalent to PUI screen.

Newbie Question- unable to view certain photos in iPhoto 6

First time Mac user..just got my MBP.
I created folders and albums under iPhoto. I then copied .JPGs from my shared Windows drive directly into the albums. They get imported correctly because I can see all the pictures in the "gallery" view. However, when I click certain individual pictures, I get a outlined grey box with an exclamation in the middle. This happens with about half the photos. I can't seem to view them.
However, when I go through Finder, I am able to double click on the same photos and view them using Preview. Full size.
Anyone know why I am unable to view certain photos in iPhoto but am able to view everything in Preview?
Any help is appreciated..

HOW TO Restrict Absence Type LOV Self Service in 12.1.3

Will someone please inform of whar is the package to use for this new feature restriction as stated below. Thanks.
From new feature PDF 12.1.3:
3.26.4.6. Restrict Absence Type LOV
Prior to this release, all absence types created using Oracle HRMS are displayed to users in Self-Service HR. With this release, implementers can update ""a package"" to restrict the absence types that are displayed to users based on the business requirements. This feature ensures that employees enter only those absences for which they are eligible, and managers do not have to verify the validity of the absence type of employee requests.

Apologies for the delay here.
The package in question is hr_absence_restricted. You replace the Package Body of this package so that the function absences_restricted returns a comma-separated array of Absence Type ids that SHOULD NOT be displayed.
For example,
RETURN '123, 456, 789'
Would prevent Absence Type Ids 123, 456 and 789 from appearing in the user's List of Values. This is supposed to be described in the following Oracle Article but it's not published:

902: Allowing user to change profile like phone-nr. in self-service

Hi all
An existing Portal user can see his profile using "Account info/My_profile", but he cannot change it (a least by default).
Is there a way to allow users to change their personal profile in self-service?

It may be that the transaction is being routed by default for approval. Check with workflow administrator to see where the transaction has gone. I think you will find it is waiting for an approver!
Many SSHR transactions use a default AME (Dynamic approval) rule which will route the transaction up the supervisor hierarchy for approval. Your transaction data will be stroed in staging tables (HR_API_TRANSACTIONS, STEPS and VALUES) until the approval is made. Only then will it be applied to the underlying tables.

Unable to view Andriod phone as folder in OS Mavericks

I have an Android phone. In OSX Mountain Lion, i would connect my phone via USB and browse the folders. Since the upgrade to Mavericks, i cannot find the phone when its connected via USB.
I have MTP turned on in my phone settings. Im currently using Bluetooth to transfer file, but its an exteremly slow process.
Any pointers is appreciated..

Indeed, the issue does not come from the Wiki.
After creating a new wiki exempt of calendar, the pages are displayed w/o problem in guest mode.
Interestingly, I still get the same message in the Console, which is in fact a warning.
So the error must be found elsewhere…

Unable to view my phone usage on My BT

I haven't been able to view my BT phone bill online for some time, but now I've paid a years line rental in advance and upgraded to BT infinity and want to see what's happening on my account.
When I log into 'My BT, the page opens on the page My Bill, with a message, 'Sorry, we're not able to show your bill and usage at the moment, as the website is undergoing maintainance. Please try again later.
This has been going on for days on end. I am so frustracted that there is not a simple link to report this and get a response.
I ended up phoning 150 and was told to unplug and plug in the modem after 5 mins. Eh?
Ive tried re-setting the Telephone Bill Method on my profile, to chnge for paper free to getting bills sent again and can't do
that.
It should be such a basic thinbg to view my account and not being able to. Alkl I ask is that BT get the basics right, instead
of flogging the new sports channel to death

I'm sorted, the answer must have come to me in my sleep. I had previously 'gifted' my free employee Broadband and
when I left BT, I lost that freebie, so now I pay phone and broadband and the phone number was set to the old number.

Unable to view certain images in lPhoto library

I recently created a website at .mac and posted a number of pictures. There were a lot of pictures but I am not sure it is related to my problem. My problem is that these pictures are no longer visible in the library or in any of the sub files. They show the file name but the thumbnail is blank with a "dashed rectangle", like a frame for a picture. When I double click on this "frame" I see the image enlarged but when I click off it becomes hidden again. All my other files in the library are fine and there are a couple of sporadic pictures from the file that I am having trouble with that do show. I don't know what I did. I would be grateful for any hints as to what I did and how I can fix it.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. It appears your thumbnail files are the culprit. First download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, substituting your account name for mine. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field.
If that doesn't fix the problem move the Data file to the desktop and launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed. Select the two options regarding the thumbnails. That should fix the thumbnail issue.

Unable to view certain photos on camera roll

I took two photos using my iPhone 4 on Saturday. Both the pictures appeared on my iPhone fine. Then when I looked at the photos on Sunday, the thumbnails has been replaced with a grey/white image with "png" on it. Now I cannot view the photos. Any ideas why this has occured and if there is a way I can retreive the photos?

On import, iPhoto copies photos into its library, which is proprietary to itself and should never be poked and prodded from outside iphoto or you run a strong risk of corrupting the library and losing your photos. So you eventually need to choose between iphoto and organizer.
If you want to use iphoto, then you have two choices:
1. Set PSE as your external editor and send the photos from iphoto to PSE, edit them, then save without changing the name or format (you may need to adjust the pse preferences>saving files>on first save), and iphoto will remember your last edits and the orginal. However, you must to lose the edited version to use the original again, and this method doesn't work well with raw files.
2. Export the photos from iphoto to the desktop, user File>Open in the editor, edit the photos, make all the changes to name and format that you like, save the photos and import them back to iphoto as new files.
Or if you decide you prefer organizer, set the this iphoto preference to No Application and you can call up the photo downloader from within organizer, or just drag the photo with the images in it from the card to wherever you want to keept them:
and of course you don't need to user either iphoto or organizer unless you want.

Unable to view certain aspects of web sites.

I've been to a few websites that, I believe, must have some sort of flash program because I can't view the content. Instead, all I see is a black box with a blue box or something in the middle. Am I supposed to download anything in order to view these?

No there isn't anything you can do right now. Safari on the iPhone doesn't support flash player. Have to wait until Apple and Adobe get it together and figure something out.

Unable to view other chart types for WAD

Hi gurus
Gotta ask for some help here. I manage to design my queries and web templates, and get the onto the Internet Explorer. However, I got a problem when displaying the chart items. I could only display the Bar Charts, and whenever I configure the chart to display Pie or Line, or any other charts, it will still default to the Bar Charts. I can never display other charts other than the Bar Chart.
Does anyone know if I missed out something in my config, or does the IGS needs to be installed to fully include other chart configs? I have attached here the list of Registered_types for the IGS server.
Please let me know, as we do need pie and line charts in our web templates.

Unable to view *certain* folders on a USB disk shared by Airport Extreme

I have a 1 TB FAT32 formatted USB drive shared over an Airport Extreme (firmware 7.4.2).
A few days ago I was reorganising media files on the hard drive. I created a subfolder in a folder called 'Movies' and copied a couple of VOB files into the subfolder. Suddenly, the entire contents of the 'Movies' folder vanished. I unmounted and re-mounted the shared disk on the Mac (browsing to the base station in finder and clicking eject). I am able to see all other top level folders and other files on the shared drive, but the 'Movies' folder is empty. The Airport logs indicated a problem with the volume, so I disconnected the drive from the airport, plugged it into the mac and ran disk utility to verify the disk. No errors were reported.
Here is where it gets interesting.
1) When I plug the USB drive into my Macbook Pro, I am able to mount the drive and browse all the directories, including the Movies folder - all my files are still there.
2) If I plug the disk back into the airport and mount it on the mac, the 'Movies' folder appears empty.
3) The hard disk usage reported (both in the airport utility and in finder) is consistent with the 'Movies' folder still being there, however the Movies folder shows up at Zero bytes in 'Get Info'
4) If I open a terminal window and cd to the mounted hard disk, 'ls -al' reports no files. However, I can 'cd' to a sub-directory of the Movies folder that I know exists, and 'ls' shows all the files in the sub folder!
I can even copy files in the 'Movies' folder to another location if I know then name - but 'ls' cannot see it, and neither can 'du'
5) I attached the drive to a Windows machine and ran chkdsk and even did a surface scan - no problems reported.
I'm stumped. Has anyone seen this wierd behaviour before? The disk is fine when mounted directly on a mac or windows machine - but when mounted and shared via the airport, the Movies folder is not visible, though it is definitely there!

Hello nikkjazz. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
The 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) supports USB storage devices that use a block size of 512 bytes ... and is true whether the device is formatted for HFS+, FAT16 or FAT32. If yours is not, then it may explain why you can see the folders when the drive is directly attached to the Mac, but not so when connected to the AEBSn.

Unable to view Essbase server in Hyperion Shared services Console

I installed Hyperion Essbase 11.1.2.1 on windows xp 32 bit.
I am unable to see the Essbase Server Icon under 'Applications Gruops' in shared services console.
But "Essbase Server Srudio 11.1.2.1" is available instead of Essbase Server.
Help how to get "Essbase server" to give provisions to particular applications to particular users.

The isssue resolved.
Reason : At the time of Installation i enabled the "Standalone mode Server"
thats why Essbase cluster was not Registered in Shared services.

Unable to create JCO connections for ESS self service

Hello SDN,
I am configuring the ESS for an EP 7.0 and a ECC 6.0(EP and ECC are combined in one instance).
I need to configure some JCO connections at:
http://host:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcwdtools/Explorer
But i cannot create any JCO connection from there. I filled in all fields that are necessary. But I keep receiving this error messages:
MsgServerName is not defined.
SystemName is not defined.
LogonGroupName is not defined.
Which is strange because I have defined the right message server. The SLD connection to the SLD is working fine. I have upgraded the SLD and the EP java stack to SP 9.0 which is the highest level.
Does anyone know the solution for this problem?

Defaulting the Expenditure Type field in OTL self service screens

I am having a requirement in OTL to provide the default value for the Expenditure Type in Self Service Screens.
I have tried to set the attribute “HXC_CUI_EXPTYPE2_LOV” by extending the TimecardCO. But it did not work.
Can somebody guide me on this issue?

[ There original post I made is incorrect. The classes/shared libraries need only to be available to the server - they do not need to be available to ALDSP Studio, since the database is access via the server. Double check that the required classes/shared libraries for your jdbc driver are available to your server ]
I searched our CR database for the stacktrace/error that you have and found serveral CR. Most of them indicate the problem was jar file(s) for the jdbc driver were not present in the client classpath. So - whatever you added to the server classpath (and PATH - if there were also shared object libraries) - we need to add those to the ALDSP Studio (eclipse) classpath (PATH).
you can put the jar(s) in
aldsp_3.0\eclipse-plugins\dsp\eclipse\plugins\com.bea.dsp.ide.external_3.0.0
and modifying
aldsp_3.0\eclipse-plugins\dsp\eclipse\plugins\com.bea.dsp.ide.external_3.0.0\META-INF/manifest.mf.
There are two places in manifest.mf you will need to add the jar file - once under Bundle-Classpath and once under Export-Package.
