Unable to view Code 128 Barcode Font

I have Acrobat Reader v8.1.2 running on a Windows XP machine. I have a Code 128 Barcode True Type font which is used to display the barcode data. I am using Cognos to generate some report and in this report I have column which shows the Code 128 barcode font. When I view the report via Cognos, I am able to see the barcode. However, when I view the same report in Acrobat Reader I am unable able to view the barcode. Cognos has an option where I can view the existing report in PDF format.
Is there any setting in Acrobat that we need set in order to get this Code 128 font working?

That font allows embedding and it works for me with a PDF created with Acrobat with the font embedded. If you could post a sample PDF somewhere, someone might be able to tell you what's wrong.

  • Code 128 barcode

I'm trying to print code 128 barcodes on hp 4300 or hp 5550, but the start and stop character are not printing, therefore they cannot be scanned.
I'm using chr(204) for start and chr(206) for stop and the mod 103 checksum is included. I have also tried chr(136) for start, chr(138) for stop,
chr(94) start chr(96) stop, and chr(124) start chr(126) stop. The scanner is able to read code 128 barcodes generated from another source.
    Any suggestions?

  • Code 128 Barcode printed from Application Express

    Hi,
My colleague and I have written a procedure to generate Code128 Barcodes. These appear fine on the screen within Application Express 3. But when we export the file as an RTF or PDF document to our BI_Publisher server running under LINUX RedHat the Barcodes are greyed out and cannot be seen.
Anyone any ideas on how to solve this? It is extremely irritating only to be able to offer our users the ability to print the Application Express page off rather than a proper document.
    Thanks

  • Barcode font is shrunk

We were using visual studio 2005 with crystall reports 11 release 2. we bought the precision id code 128 barcode font. when exported to pdf for printing purposes, it was shrinking the barcode making it unreadable for the scanners. this was overcome by adding a registry key called ForceLargerFonts. since then it was working fine. Now we have upgraded to crystal reports 2008 and are back to square now. its shrinking the barcode. I tried creating the registry key as earlier and is still shriking the font. what can be done to stop shrinking the code 128 barcode.

    Hi, Jimmy;
It sounds like this is a web based application. You'll need to make the ForceLargerFonts key available to the web server as well.
    From one of our kbases:
    To work around this issue:
    1. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del on your keyboard, then click the Task Manager button. Click the Processes tab. The security account is listed beside your process name (for IIS 5 the process name is aspnet_wp.exe and for IIS 6 it is w3wp.exe).
    2. Open the registry editor. On the Start menu, click Run then type "regedit" and click OK.
    3. Navigate to the following registry sub key:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
There will be a number of keys here that start with "S-1-5". Inspect each one and look for your security account name in the ProfileImagePath entry. Take note of the key (folder) you are on when you find your process.
    4. Go to the following registry sub key:
(I'm not sure what the exact key is but you should be able to find it):
    HKEY_USERS\[your security profile]\Software\Business Objects\12\Crystal Reports\Export\Pdf
    5. Right-click the sub key and click New > DWORD Value. Name the DWORD value "ForceLargerFonts" and set it to the value of 1.
    6. Restart IIS, and try the application again.

  • Barcode CODE 128 with large number (being rounded?) (BI / XML Publisher 5.6.3)

After by applying Patch 9440398 as per Oracle's Doc ID 1072226.1, I have successfully created a CODE 128 barcode.
But I am having an issue when creating a barcode whose value is a large number. Specifically, a number larger than around 16 or so digits.
    Here's my situation...
In my RTF template I am encoding a barcode for the number 420917229102808239800004365998 as follows:
    <?format-barcode:420917229102808239800004365998;'code128c'?>
I then run the report and a PDF is generated with the barcode. Everything looks great so far.
But when I scan the barcode, this is the value I am reading (tried it with several different scanner types):
    420917229102808300000000000000
    So:
         Value I was expecting:     420917229102808239800004365998
         Value I actually got:         420917229102808300000000000000
It seems as if the number is getting rounded at the 16th digit (or so, it varies depending of the value I use).
I have tried several examples and all seem to do the same.  But anything with 15 digits or less seems to works perfectly.
    Any ideas?
    Manny

    Yes, I have.
But I have found the cause now.
When working with parameters coming in from the concurrent manager, all the parameters define in the concurrent program in EBS need to be in the same case (upper, lower) as they have been defined in the data template.
Once I changed all to be the same case, it worked.
    thanks for the effort.
    regards
    Ronny

  • How to generate a Code 39 barcode?

We want to print our Service Order Numbers as a Code 39 bar-code.
I read that you can print the bar-code in the report (as a graphic) by downloading a Code 39 barcode font.
But first I have to convert our SO Number to a Code 39 barcode.
Is there is a Oracle PL/SQL function to do this?

    Hello,
    http://www.idautomation.com/fonts/tools/oracle/
Oracle Reports Barcode Font Tutorial & Integration Guide
This IDAutomation tutorial is designed for implementing barcodes in Oracle Reports with the IDAutomation PL/SQL Barcode Library and IDAutomation barcode fonts. The barcode library is a PLL file that formats data from fields in the report to the barcode fonts, to create a correct barcode. The library contains functions for Code 128, Code 39, GS1, Codabar, UCC/EAN 128, Interleaved 2 of 5, UPC and EAN barcodes.

  • Weird Character in Code 128 Codeset B Barcode

    Hello Everyone,
I am encoutering two issues dealing with barcodes in Crystal Reports 2008:
I have an old Seagate Crystal Reports 7 report that uses Code 128 Codeset B barcodes.  I have converted the report to Crystal Reports 2008 and have tried using the new built-in 'Change to Barcode' function and the old BarcodeC128B() function that the old report used to create the barcode. The barcode is set to use font 'Code128'.  However, in both instances, and when I start fresh with the built-in function in a blank report, strange characters are appended to the end of the barcode.  Most of the characters are capital A's with different accent marks over the character, and sometimes they are capital E's with accent marks.  These barcodes do not match the barcodes that are generated out of the old version of the report.  Unfortunately, I do not have a scanner to test to see if they are working the same, but my instinct says they would not work with these extra characters.
My next issue occurs when I export the report output to Microsoft Word.  The barcodes seem to change, i.e. they become smaller and the weird character on the end changes.  When I export report output from the old version of the Crystal Report to Word, the barcodes do not change.  Has anyone else experienced issues exporting barcodes to Word from Crystal Reports 2008?  I am using Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.3.5.925.  Thank you for your help.

    Hi Brian,
I'm not convinced yet that it's the code set.  I am using Microsoft Server 2008 R2, and the fonts have been copied to the fonts folder just as I have done on every other platform where I have needed to produce or view the UPCs.  I have copied a file with UPCs that were generated correctly from Crystal Reports 8 over to the server and the UPCs are displayed correctly, which tells me the font is working on the server.
I have contacted Azalea's technical support twice but I have gotten no response.  Has anyone else had a similar issue?

    Hi,

  • Code 128 Font included with Crystal Reports?

We are currently running Crystal Reports v11.5. We are attempting to print out work orders through Sage Mas 500 software, which uses Crystal Reports to print out the documents. I was under the impression that Crystal Reports came with the barcode font Code 128.
My question is, did it indeed come with a font for Code 128 in order to generate barcodes? And if so, where can I find this font located at to install (Perhaps an option I'm overlooking during the install or the Program Files after the install)?
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • FREE3OF9 barcode font not displaying in Firefox's new built-in PDF viewer

I have a PHP web app that uses FPDF (v1.53) and the FREE3OF9 barcode font to dynamically generate a PDF which includes a barcode in it. The font is imported into the document using the FPDF AddFont method (http://fpdf.org/en/doc/addfont.htm). In versions of Firefox prior to 19, the PDF opened in a new tab, was displayed by the Adobe Acrobat plugin, and the barcode showed up perfectly fine.
Now that Firefox 19.0 is using its own built-in PDF viewer, the barcode no longer displays at all -- there's just a blank spot where it should be. It continues to display fine in IE and Chrome. How I can get the font to display correctly in the newest version of Firefox?
I understand that I can change the Action for the PDF content type to 'Use Adobe Reader' in the options, but I'd prefer to fix this so that my users don't have to change their browser settings. Or at the very least, it would be nice if they could only change the Action for PDFs originating from my site and not globally.
    Thanks.

You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer and use the Adobe Reader instead.

  • Barcode fonts 128 and 39 "shrink" when exported to PDF

    Hello,
Crystal reports recommends using either IDAutomation or Azalea barcode fonts for reports.
We are using IDAutomation. Both the 128 and the 39 encoded fonts work fine when
printing. However when we export to a PDF file the fonts "shrink" down to a tiny box and
are both un-scannable and nearly invisible.
At this point in time, does anyone know of any fonts that can be used in v.XI which can
be exported to PDF and be scannable? We are using the RDC and so are stuck with v.XI.
Is the highest service pack for R1 (I believe it is SP4) of any help with this issue?
If you know if answers to the above are negative please respond anyway.
Also, I you know of any threads which deal with the "incredible shrinking font" issue,
    please mention them.
    Thank you,
    Joe

    HI, Joe;
The previous post was for the incorrect verison of Crystal Reports from what you are using.
Have a look at this Note referring to Crystal Reports XI R1:
